For copyrighted images, maybe you should contact the AGDQ 2016 administration directly? I believe they do and have sold and raffled fanart in the past as a part of the marathon. That and used fanart as logos/banners for the event.

The dolphin blog said that accurate load time emulation based on disc rotation was implemented in November https://dolphin-emu.org/download/dev/ba1a8d2ef3e5dd602fa9ac054bcc787d7b400b16/ https://dolphin-emu.org/blog/2014/12/01/dolphin-progress-report-november-2014/

Ah, I'm sorry, I was not aware. I eagerly await an updated TAS.

http://tasvideos.org/1378M.html Crusaders of Centy. Looking at this, I have literally no idea why this game isn't star tier. It's massively entertaining to watch, especially the beach segment and generally everything after you learn to jump, because you can boost off so many things and there are so many supporting tricks based on the level design, the sword swinging and boomeranging, some limited out of bounds action, and the various animals you get. I figure it just got overlooked considering barely anyone has heard of the game before far as I know.

I don't mind the jitter personally. I find it rather entertaining. Imagine Gordon jittering frantically as he phases through the black mesa facility. Like a psychopath who has no idea what he's doing, he just has to keep moving forward. I can see how it would be an entertainment deficit relative to more smooth bunnyhopping of course, but I think that the jitter version has a right to exist, it is the fastest after all and by no small margin.

I am a spectator primarily, and I must say that as a spectator, one of my primary interests in speedrunning and TAS is learning more about how the game works. To this end, commentary would be very appreciated. I would give recording advice, but it looks like you guys have things in order. Here's a basic sum-up anyway: Have a script prepared, look at the video while you do it (ideally in something you can seek in, like a video editor). Use audacity. Record short lines so you do not run out of breath and try not to rush your reading. Annunciate clearly so you can be understood, but don't overdo it. Keep a natural tone if you can, but understandability is what is most important. Test them out next to the video to make sure they fit the time you're aiming for. Good luck in all you do. I hope you are able to hit many popular TASes and make many people very happy.

Wow, I'm amazed that would come up in any course of study anywhere. There is a game related class at my school, the School of Visual Arts in New York City, but it has barely anything to do with games themselves. What else is covered in that class?

Honestly, I'd just really like for someone to get a TAS up, even if it's not perfectly optimized. Leave the optimization to a future run.

I am kind of an outsider commenting on this issue, but I believe that for the sake of submitted runs that the pauses should be left intact. There is no denying the added entertainment factor of this cheat code, but it should be published independently of the TAS archives in my opinion and probably mentioned in either the author's notes or the description of the official run.

It already was checked. Though I tried it again and the sound works now. Weird, the only setting I changed was switching the color depth to 32 bit and the display driver to the primary one. Thanks for the help.

Yeah, I'm having the same issue actually, I tried using this to run Symphony of the Night and there's no sound. I frankly have no idea what could be causing that.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FgDqwa_pzmg Sorry if this is too off topic, but in this video at 6:01 and 6:20 he traps a koopa in a block and has it go to the end of the stage without falling or hitting any blocks. Does anyone here happen to know or have a detailed explanation of how this works?

Incidentally, I'm pretty sure that with level 2 Trickster and Air Hike you can stay airborne indefinitely against Virgil 1. So that could be another "stupid boss trick" to do.
Isn't that true with literally every enemy and boss that you can jump cancel over? I'd love to see stuff inspired by Brea and other great True Style Tournament players. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zeA7wWSLlVw

I downloaded the youtube videos and cut them, except in the SF example where I captured it from the PC version. I believe the interlacing was added when I exported from premiere.

Thanks a lot, I'll have an editor replace the images for the article and I'll definitely be saving these for my own use. I have a massive art collection, and gifs like these are a frequent part of it. I think I'll have to learn more about encoding to avoid that crazy interlacing in the future.

Thanks a ton, it's part of a series deconstructing gameplay videos. Unfortunately I will not be featuring any TAS productions because they aren't really the same type of skill as I want to showcase. I'm very glad to be able to cooperate with this site in whole or in part.

http://www.gatheryourparty.com/articles/2013/03/21/more-than-mashing-addendum-on-cancels/ Here's the article. It's all probably old news for you guys, but I hope you find it entertaining regardless.

Thanks much, I'm aware of fair use laws and how they work. How could I not link back here? I love this place. I'll post a link to the article here when I get it up. The site is down right now, so I can't edit anything.

Some searching turned up that those images were made by adelikat HappyLee (Whoops!). I guess I'll go ahead and use them. I hope this does not upset him. I'll be sure to include credit and a link back to the site.

Hey, I am a writer for http://www.gatheryourparty.com/ an I was writing an article on Cancels in gameplay, and I wanted to use some of the images from this page: http://tasvideos.org/GameResources/NES/SuperMarioBros.html to illustrate my point. (specifically the flagpole glitch images) What are the copyright policies on use of these images? Should I contact whoever made those specific images? Is there a general copyright policy? Are these public domain or owned by the site owner?

Thank you for the information. I hope that PS2 emulation improves in the future.
