After the promising start to our relationship, you're back at "neutral/indifferent" now.

Fabian, tell me why Stockholm, Sweden is more awesome than Gothenburg, Sweden.
DK, This is exactly the kind of immature shitty bullshit questions I was hoping to avoid. Grow the fuck up man. LOL JUST KIDDING. Personally I dislike Gothenburg because I associate it very strongly with this chick I knew about 4 years ago who's just the most horrible experience of my life, romantically speaking. I'm not able to really get past this just yet. On a less subjective note, I think Gothenburg probably is the better town. It's more of a student town than Stockholm is, so I'm guessing it's easier to meet new cool people. It's not noticeably smaller so you can probably do the same basic stuff in both cities. Gothenburg also has the upside of a fantastically hilarious local dialect known as "Göteborska" (Gothenburg = Göteborg) which you can laugh at endlessely for several days when you're down there.

Dear Fabian, Will you ever work on TAS for other game than Super Mario World? If not, why so. EDIT: Okay, you pretty much answered to my question in the previous post, but I didn't see it before posting this.
Never say never (I said never after I finished my 96 exit TAS last august, then I was back with a submitted run like 2 months later), but at the moment I feel very strongly I'll never work on something non-SMW related. I have enough trouble motivating myself to finish the 96 exit improvement as it is, I started it in late october I think and I've progressed like 40ish levels. There are plenty of reasons I'm not as enthusiastic about TASing as I was say two years ago, some of which I touched on in my reply to Phil (less time sitting around rotting in front of a computer etc), but who knows that might change at any time.

I do respect that you love them, and part of some gang, that's your life but why, particularly JXQ?
I'm actually really good. I've gotten my life on track in the last couple of months, and feel much happier than I have in many years, since I graduated high school 3 years ago. I've had some very exciting success "professionally" lately and school isn't too bad this semester. I also almost had sex last week, a rare occurrence for me, and I've lost over 30 pounds in the last six months. I don't love Zurreco and xebra. I don't feel very strongly about adelikat, though he's a great guy and one of my favorite tasvideos members. Zurreco, xebra and adelikat are definitely not part of some gang as far as I know, definitely not some gang I belong to. I love JXQ because he's the most awesome thing since sliced bread, and I know him much much better than any other tasvideos member. He's extremely bright and has just a great sense of humor. He's humble and able to see things from others perspectives, so having discussions with him is not like banging your head into a brick wall. He's helped me out so much in the two years I've known him, and I'm not just talking about teaching me to TAS SMW/SDW. I could probably write pages about him, but this will have to do for now. <3

Dear Fabian, Do you have any specific religion or way of life? Do you believe in karma or some governing force in this world? Does this influence you with the decisions you make in life? If so how much? That said, do you feel that using an unsecured wireless network (without asking permission) to gain access to the internet during an important time in your life is morally or ethically unsound? Or so you feel there are certain necessities that require somewhat extreme measures? Where should the limit be set? I feel that bouncing my ideas and curious nature off of this topic is something which is required now that it exists.
I'm not religious and I don't think I have a specific way of life. I don't believe in karma, and the closest thing I come to a "governing force" would really just be that I don't have a strong opinion (=have no idea) on whether the world is deterministic or not. It seems logical it would be on an atomic/sub-atomic (admittedly I understand very little about stuff like this) level, but yet it feels like kinda an outlandish claim so I'm ignoring that question for the most part. Using a network like you describe is definitely both morally and ethically (not sure what the difference is) unsound in general. I do feel there are plenty of circumstances where it might be temporarily acceptable. The key would be to try and correct your mistake as soon as possible (stop leeching, apologize, compensate). I also think it's not a huge moral sin or anything. In the grand scheme of things I wouldn't be losing much sleep over something like that, but it's undoubtedly wrong. Keep on bouncing if these answers were too short or generally sucked.

I apologise for my previous post, though if I hadn't asked, someone else would have. :) A serious question now (or rather, two questions): 1.) What's your favourite run on the site as of now? 2.) What's your most anticipated run in development as of now?
1. It's probably my 96 exit Super Mario World run despite how lacking it is in technical quality. I realize it's just incredibly lame to name your own run (see question 2), so I'll also say I think SprintGod's (now obsoleted) Sonic 3 & Knuckles run was fantastic. I like nitsuja's new version a lot too, but it doesn't come close to the original as far as I'm concerned. Other good ones I can think of is JXQ and mine's 11 exit SMW run, jimsfriend's 120 exit SDW run (can you tell the mario world bias?) and nitsuja's Sonic 2 run. 2. Even more lame, pretty much the only run I'm looking forward to is my improvement of the 96 exit SMW run. The thing is, Super Metroid and Super Mario World are really the only games I've ever been really enthustiastic about in TASing, and SM is pretty played out for me by now. In general, I don't follow the TASing scene very closely any more, mainly watching runs of games I'm personally familiar with, which aren't many. Sorry about the lameness.

AKA, The story is this, once in a kirby thread in the NES forum or something some guy from Holland wrote something like "you might loose frames if you do x", instead of "lose". To this Xkeeper replied in giant font with bright yellow letters something like "OH MY GOD SEEING PEOPLE MISSPELL THAT WORD MAKES ME GO BALLISTIC!!!!!! IF YOU BOTHER TO LEARN THE LANGUAGE AT ALL WHY DON'T YOU LEARN THAT WORD". To this I replied saying I felt Xkeeper was the hugest idiot moron douchebag I've ever come across on a forum and pointed out to him that not everyone has English as their first language. His reply then was something like "I could care less". Actually now that I think about it the "WHY BOTHER TO LEARN THE LANGUAGE AT ALL" thing was probably in this second reply of his. This only solidified my belief that Xkeeper and I would not get along very well in the future. After this incident, I have sometimes pointed out to Xkeeper that he frequently mistakes "ridiculous" for "rediculous", and that it perhaps is reasonable to hold him to higher standards, being a native speaker and all, and that it doesn't make him look very good. To this, he replied with the quote in my signature. I felt this was not a great explanation/justification and thought it was hilarious and it's been my sig ever since.

S, My parents house where I grew up is a 2 story house right in the middle of the jungle/woods with a set of stairs feared by any visitors. I'm not kidding either everyone would be like "woah wth is up with these really weird and steep stairs!" My apartment I live in now is on the 7th floor and there are stairs. However, there is also an elevator which I use instead.

a, 1. In English it's Fay-bee-en. In Swedish though it's kinda like the second one, more like Faab-y-ahn. 2. Nowadays the posts in this forum consists mostly of a copypasted youtube link followed by one-line responses like "OMG", "this was posted before lol" or it's "jesus rridgway can you stop sucking please lol". A year or so ago we had more active members who were interested in longer (2+ sentence posts) discussions, as well as the ability to make very witty and funny posts (xebra, adelikat, Zurreco, JXQ to name a few). Some of these are still around but the fun discussions/bullshitting we used to have is completely gone. 3. I expect there to be about 75% non-serious questions at first. After a while when the thread catches on fire I expect there to be closer to 25% non-serious questions. I expect 10% of the questions to be "stupid", maybe less. Stupid basically meaning those non-serious questions I'm probably not answering.

This forum sucks really badly compared to a year ago, I'm sure you all will agree on that. This is my attempt to make it better. Ask me a question and I'll give you a good answer. I'll answer all serious questions and a reasonable amount of less serious questions. They can be about pretty much any subject, friend-/relationships/general advice seeking about whatever situation in your life/music/TASing/entertainment/why I am awesome/why is or isn't [person] on this forum awesome/etc you name it. Be creative! I'll be nice if you ask about why you are or aren't awesome in most cases too. Why am I qualified to run a thread like this? I have more common sense than everyone else, that's really it mostly. I'm also honest and objective for the most part. I'm guessing this thread usually works better in a more high traffic forum, but I see no reason we can't make it work here too. If you want to be anonymous feel free to PM obviously. It's encouraged, though not required, to begin your question like this: "Dear Fabian," Alright that's it let's go!

I'll give this thread a bump. Just finished the last book a couple days ago. I felt that, although books 1-6 were suspenseful, book 7 tried to explode my brain with way too much action that doesn't flow well.
I think that's part of what makes it awesome! But yeah I think you're probably right, it could probably have worked better to have the plot of book 7 spread out in 6 and 7. Book 6 is probably the slowest one, you could ditch the whole half blood prince subplot and focus on Dumbledore's lessons and having him and Harry start searching for horcruxes and or hallows much earlier in that book so there's no need to rush in number 7. Actually that would be unfair to Snape to skip the half blood prince stuff. Meh I dunno, I just felt book 6 was really slow and book 7 felt too short for everything that's in there.

2 things. 1. I don't like the idea of doing the actual rating of a movie when it's new and has just been submitted. It kinda goes against the current "watch it more than once/be somewhat familiar with it before rating please" guideline which I think is a smart one. 2. "The question cannot be "should this movie be published". The person who votes in the poll is not a judge. They are usually able to say how they liked the movie, but they are not able to determine what is good for the site and what is not." This makes no sense. Just because a person is not actually a judge doesn't mean he can't have an opinion, which is probably a good one anyway. Your statement would be very valid if the real judges just went with whatever the poll results indicated, but that's obviously not the case. Edit: Makes no sense is stupid and harsh. To clarify, while it's true Joe doesn't know what's best for the site, he will generally have a pretty good idea. I find the voting polls to be pretty accurate in general. When/if they're not, the judge should be able to see that I guess.

Well, the most I see happening in this case is mentioning the other goal-oriented submission in the published movie's text. At this point the administration is against publishing two any% runs aside each other.
Let's hope the administration is able to choose that option anyway then.

Well it's not like it's COMPLETELY IMPOSSIBLE at this moment right? There are plenty of games with more than one run. Super Metroid comes to mind.

Sweet run, voting yes. I prefer real time over in-game time. I have no problem with multiple categories and such when there's a good reason for it though, and my opinion is that's what we're looking at here. Edit: If that's not an option, I vote hero's run stays.

Second part of 2) sounds more like 4) to me. Also the way you act all shocked that someone thinks this submission is "better" than the old one makes me think you equate "better" with "technical perfection", which I would say is a very incomplete definition.

Hold the phone, the question of whether a movie is better than an existing movie and should obsolete the existing movie is a matter of subjectivity, and up to each person to make up his own mind about?!? Well duh di duh. ps I like you Raiscan and hope we can remain friends despite my slightly dry response.
