I guess I'll just wait for some time before I'll watch it again. Yesterday I watched the 'first' version of submitted version but since it's has got improved several times I can't help thinking maybe Bisqwit even this time hurried a bit? ;) Of course this is really incredible improvement from the v4. I guess nobody could have thought it could be improved way over a minute when Bisqwit estimated about five seconds squeeze here and there. Very good job. Let's see how many improvements are yet to come for this submission before it's a final.

looking at it now the game doesnt look that fun.
It actually is really fun. Little by little explore new planets, kill enemies and go deeper and find new items. There are enchancements to your pod which wasn't required in this movie. And most importantly there are a few new pods as well which not just look a lot cooler, but they work so much better. These are the things which makes me want to see a warpless or even 100% run. But this movie already is really nice. I hope it brings some competition!

Why don't you, Sleepz, try to make an even faster run without the "wobbling"? Right now the 36 frames faster run is the best and most entertaining and should replace your run.
Does the improved 36 frames entertain you? Or the wobbling? What do you find in the movie that entertains you more than sleepz movie?

I'm not saying that it's not impressive, not at all. Phil's TASs are usually really entertaining and I'm sure this one is as well. All I mean is that I don't find really really good motive for doing such a run, unless there are clear slowdowns in published version. Aiming for perfection is a very good reason I know, but do you really think there will be no more new tactics, glitches and such in the future of SMB2? Of course there's nothing wrong with trying to perfect current tactics to the maximum and it's great to see that. I will probably vote yes because it's a fastest existing run. All I'm saying is that sleepz did an awesome work and in a way I feel bad when such work is being obsoleted by something which isn't possibly any more entertaining, only noticed in the end as some frames improved. Of course, it might be that you were more entertaining overally, that I will find out after I watch your submission.

Of course, if you disagree and don't think that it's an impressive improvement (I'm looking at you, Fihlvein), feel free to go ahead and submit your own, much better version.
Sorry I'm not doing TASs myself, but does that mean I can't critisize them? Does every music critic make music by themselves? Of course not. You don't need to make music to judge music as you don't need to make TASs to judge TASs.

So you used exactly the same route than sleepz did, tried your very best to get some frames here and there and in the end it's about half a second faster? I know it's faster but as with your earlier SMB1 submission which was one(?) frame faster than pom's, somehow I don't feel comfortable with obsoleting sleepz run with this one... but as usual, it's a matter of opinions.

Dehacked: When I try to download your torrent I get the message: "Rejected by tracker: Illegal client. Access Denied." I'm using the official release of BitTorrent: is this one banned also, huh?

I have completed Star Ocean once adn for me it was really short game. I don't remember completion times but for example comparing to Tales of Phantasia it felt like over a half shorter.

Really, if the discussion of what we should call the videos at this site is not interesting to you, please don't bring our dear moms to the discussion.

Boy was this game repetative. All the action is pretty much the same in every level (ok maybe some cool little extra monster here and there). It looked well played that's not the question here. I just wasn't entertained more than couple of first stages. I don't know, maybe I would feel more entertained if I had played this game by myself earlier but now it just wasn't entertaining to the very end. I will have to say 'meh'.

What exactly was entertaining in this video? One could just fast-forward it trough in one minute without missing anything. It was just dead boring, sorry.

Saturn, seriously, if you see the trouble in making such a good movie that this one is, just spend just another half an hour to learn how to create an AVI by yourself - problem solved, plus an useful method learned. The most important thing is that there is the original FCM which has all the information one could need to make whatever they want to make with it. An encoded version of the movie is just a plus added to the submission and Bisqwit may use whatever method he wants to use to do that. It's not like he's bugging us with the "different" type of encoded videos. They are there for a reason.

Sometimes it might be useful, like when there's a smaller enemy which you can use to be invisible and pass another enemy which you cannot shoot. It's whole another thing if there even is such situations though.

Well, I don't think obsoleting a published submission later on is such a bad idea... Maybe have a vote on published submissions that aren't necessarily that special in todays standards, like maybe Little Mermaid? I mean, it feels a bit akward to have a submission published but "not worth an avi", don't you think?

Extra movement is made to change something evident, he probably avoided a random battle from happening so soon.

And if I watch the movie with laptop and comment with my pc, which has different ip, I'll get in troubles? I know it's not everyday this happens but we can't assume it's always as if one didn't watch the movie.

We also need to asks ourselves whether it is a waste of time to even vote for submissions such as this when the author has done a 3,50 min improvement. I know even with big improvements, one might find still some things to notify the author or question certain things in order to even reduce a certain submission but still...
You said it by yourself, even if the time is better than currently best time, there might be some serious flaw and if it can be fixed, you can't really vote else than no. This submission probably won't have anything like that. I don't know since I didn't watch it yet.

Blaster Master is not that difficult until the 8th world but I've beaten the game allright. And what's that about W&W2? Only really difficult part in that is the final fight.

What a pointless comparation. Colour of the sweater makes no difference neither in the processing or on the quality of the sweater. Tool-assisted run and run without tools differ on making and on quality.

So far I like the "Tool-Assisted xxxxx" or "Tool-Assisted xxxxx[run]" best, added some descriptive term for the "xxxxx". "Speed" is not that good at all. Something else.

I will just have to say one more time that TAS, Tool-Assisted Speedrun, is not that fitting either since simply, the main focus is naturally on the term "Speedrun", and as stated already and what is really a big issue, is the fact that it's not about speed always. I really would like a new term that which people can agree on AND a term that fits to all categories of movies that are presentated on the site. "Speedrun" is just not good and descriptive enough.
