I know that you can do that in Windows Movie Maker, but I'm trying to avoid using that because then I'd have to publish the movie in WMM, right? But then the quality isn't as high as it would be if I used Vdub, or at least I don't know how to get it in better quality. Do you have any suggestions?

1) Is it possible to use Virtualdub to create transitions from random encounter to random encounter the way HCBailly does in this video? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vGoi1tLjpCE 2) Is there any way to improve my method of making videos as far as video games go? So far it's this... First, I use "Full Frames (Uncompressed)" make all the edits and stuff I want to do in Virtualdub. Then, save the AVI, import it into Windows Movie Maker, make my commentary according to what's on the AVI, then publish the commentary as a movie, then insert the commentary into the AVI saved in Virtualdub, then finally upload it to Youtube. Is there anything more I can do to make my videos look even better?

Well, if I try really hard, can I make the Mupen64 work, without having to play the entire game through in one go?

Wow...nice! I mean, I'm no TASer, but even I know that 45 seconds is a pretty huge improvement!

I always aim for whatever emulator that the TAS community uses because my logic is "if that's what the TAS community uses, it must be the best one right"? However, I've been reading around, and the users seem to have some rather large problems with the emulator. I've read one where their save game is erased when they start "Movie Record", non-functioning menus, stuff like that. I don't want to record TAS's, but I do want to record movies, so this sort of worries me a little. Therefore, I would like to ask if all these issues can be avoided, and if so, how?

Hey guys, I'm still sort of wondering about my question. Tiki, the SDA speedrunner, says yes, and he's done it before, but I'm just asking just in case he's B.S.ing me or something. Not that I think he is, I'm just making sure.

Hey guys, I'd really like to know, how many RN's do "Regular Hits", "Defending", "Critical Hits", "Unleashes", "Fleeing" and all the various items burn? I know that all enemy actions drain 1 RN for each time in a round, and I know all the amount of RN's that the various psynergies and Djinn attacks burn, but I don't know how many all the above burn. Could you please tell me?

Thanks party boy! But, does AVIsynth display the footage itself for you to watch, fast forward, add video effects, and all that?

Hey, now, I have another question. I have only managed to do the Iceless heart twice, but I can't seem to get it consistently, so I have a question. When you get to that ledge, do you have to press X again after you wall jumped, or do you only have to worry about the altitude you jumped at?

Hey, Adelikat, I'm wondering, what are the best settings to publish FCEUX emulator videos in Windows Movie Maker with? I've tried Windows HD Media settings, but those scrunch up the sides of the video, and I've tried the default settings, but didn't like how it lowered the visual and audio quality. There are still more options to try, but for conveniences sake, I'm wondering if you could guide me so I won't have to go through a process of trial and error.

Cool. By "get as far from the wall as possible", you mean take advantage of the fact that you don't have to be right up against it to wall jump from it, right? EDIT: Yay, I did it! After about 1-2 hours of trying, I did it!

Hey, you know that heart tank in Boomer Kuwanger's stage? I'm trying to get it without the Boomerang Cutter or Charged Frost Penguin like the TAS did, but I have a question. Do you need to do the triangle jump the TAS does, or can it just be a normal boost jump?

Thanks a bunch Rolan! This is greatly appreciated! Just checked out how many RN's it took to beat the Prologue in 4 Turns and...wow, I'm glad you guys are here. It took more than 160 wobbles to get that critical...yeah, glad I didn't end up having to do that without a script. Thanks!

Hey, guys, if you guys could, could you please provide me an rng script for this game that shows what the random numbers are as you're playing through the game the way they do in this tutorial? http://serenesforest.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=28299&pid=1713508&st=0&#entry1713508 I know Toothache at least has one for Fire Emblem: The Sealed Sword, and I'm assuming Rolanman1 has one for Blazing Sword, but it's cool if you guys don't. It'd just make a future project I want to do much easier, that's all.

So guys, I have a question. How do I use Lua in order to find an RN that I'm looking for?

The question still remains though. Just what is and isn't possible with TASing these games? Also, it seems that Book 2 isn't as easily skipped as Book 1, which is nice. I'm not going to watch all of it, as I don't want to spoil this game for myself, but still, it at least seems better than Book 1.

To be completely honest, I don't think a whole lot would change. The enemy density and stats are low enough in this game that it's not much of a challenge, with or without Warp Skip. If anything, Warp Skip is harder because it puts pressure on Marth to be strong enough to take out the bosses and their minions. Plus, the stat boosters in this game give absurd boosts, such as the Power Ring giving out 4+ Power, the Speedwings giving 6+ Speed, etc. Still, as I go through the game, I could analyze the maps to see if my theory is true.

I wanted to make a thread here because I wanted to figure out something about how the RNG in this game works. It seems really weird in that not only can I not strike two critical hits in a row in the same battle round even with a Critical Hit rate above 30% (the formula is [(Skill+Luck)/2] + Weapon Critical), but the level ups seem oddly static. What I mean is stuff like the fact that I can never seem to get Defense unless Power is part of the level up to, Barts always seems to get either HP and Speed, Wpn Level and HP and Skill, or HP and Defense and Skill and Luck and Power. I don't know whether this has something to do with how the RNG in this game is set up or whether I'm just really bad at luck manipulation (all I know is that the result is different when you wait certain lengths of time before doing an action). If you guys could do me a favor, I would like to send you some save states for you to use and test out these questions for me.

When I try that, the VBM file doesn't show up, only the VMV movie that I recorded once. I changed the WIP I downloaded by renaming it into a VMV movie type, but when I try to play it, it says "unsupported file type". I'm using 1.8 by the way, as I don't know where to download the 2.3 version.

Hey, how do you view these WIP's? I can't seem to figure it out.

Alright, I just switch over to Snes9X 1.43, and I'm still experiencing desynching problems. I tried switching it over to 48hz, as some users suggested, and it's still desynching. Is there any other suggestions for fixing this problem? EDIT: The game I'm trying to play is "The 7th Saga" by the way.

Really? Because I got the impression that you did, considering you said this... ...eschewing my typical strategy of powerleveling in order to make the total play time shorter so that the VBM would fit on Microstorage. Also, what is needed is a verifiable save *file* like what the emulator produces when using the in-game save feature. I got the impression that you at least knew the rudimentary steps for how to beat this game quickly and efficiently.
