Yo Arflech, could you please tell me what you normally do for a simple, ordinary speed run of Shining Soul?

I actually would like to do a Mega Man Battle Network 2 run someday if I can get the cartridge, but for now, I figure I can at least get this information for someone else to apply. In Mega Man Battle Network 3, chances of running is determined by how much HP you have, but does it work that way in Battle Network 2? I would imagine it either does work that way, or it's based off of your level.

I can't seem to figure it out. All I have to do is import it in VisualBoyAdvance 1.8, but how do I do it for this version?

Because as far as I know, it's the best ZSNES emulator around. What emulator should I be using if I want to record videos?

I believe it would be faster when, in the leveling cycle, you killed only that one enemy in Area 2, then all of the people you kill in Area 3, because the distance between that one enemy and the rest of the guys in Area 2 is greater than the distance between him and the enemies in Area 3. But that's just what I think.

...the recorded video actually end up being different than what I actually did when recording the video? For example, when I'm playing say Dragon Quest III, I'll go from Reeve all the way to the Cave of Temptation, yet halfway there, my character will all of a sudden start walking in random directions and will keep on examining the ground over and over again. Why does this happen I wonder? Has any other users experienced problems like this?

Yo, can someone please tell me what that Japanese speed runners route for Part 4 was? I'm having trouble watching that particular video for some reason.

Alright. No Super Saiyan then. I did things the way I did since in your first video, you seemed to pump Strength every time it was enough to kill enemies in less hits, so that was the thought process I used. Pump Strength every time it lessens the hits enemies take. I can still do that if you wish. In any case, what about Equipment? How many frames does that take?

(Ok, now it's Gohan's turn) 65: Pump points into Strength, but don't bother with Wool Mittens. They're not worth the time to put on. (After breaking Goku's gate and switching to Gohan, go Super Saiyan) 66-70: Nothing 71: Pump all points into Strength (allows Majin Soldiers and Fighters to be killed easier) (After you get past the Destroyer bot, you'll find a small area with two Majin Fighters and Two Majin Soldiers. Grind here, and make sure you get some Demon Mask's here, for they are accesories that give their wearers 7 Strength. With the Brass Knuckle that's buyable at the World Martial Arts Tournament, that equals 16 extra Strength total, which is handy once you reach the point where you can't pump Strength past your level. Also, I would suggest farming some Fancy Tuxedo's here to, as they sell for 2500 Zenny apiece, which is great as at a future Z-Mart, there's some gloves and armor that radically boost your power. Buying the two of those costs 10,000 Zenny total). 72-75: Nothing 76: Pump everything you can into Strength (This makes every enemy here killable in one hit. You could do that at Level 71 as a Super Saiyan, but 76 is about as far as you can go before Gohan reverts back into regular form). 77-84: Nothing 85: Pump everything you can into Strength, and equip a Demon Mask and Brass Knuckle. (Switch to Vegeta here. He needs to really boost his Strength so that he can kill Fat Buu quickly, as he is only vulnerable after you hit Babidi, so you'll want to beat Buu in one cycle). 76: Equip Leather Glove and Demon Mask 77: Pump Strength (Majin Fighters are killed in one shot w/SSJ) 78: Pump Strength (Majin Soldiers are killed in one shot w/SSJ) 79: Nothing 80: Pump Strength (Both Majin's are one-shotted in regular form) 81-85: Nothing (Switch to Goku here to fight Vegeta) 71: Pump Strength (Self-Explanatory) 73: Pump Strength and equip Leather Glove (Self-Explanatory) 74-76: Pump Strength (Self-Explanatory) (Switch to Vegeta, on his quest for Fat Buu's head) 86-88: Nothing 89: Pump Strength and equip Brass Knuckle (You need to end the Fat Buu battle as soon as possible). (Switch to Goten now, as we start the most annoying segment in the game. Now, the only place either Goten or Trunk's can go to is the Warlord's Ship, so the route I've devised involves sending Goten through the Warlord's Ship first to get him a ton of levels so that he can break that Character Gate later that requires him to be level 100. Then, have Goten go through the Diablo Desert until he gets to the save point. You'll then want to switch to Trunks and have him kill all of the enemies on the train. That will only be enough to get Trunks to Level 79, so you'll have to stop for a short bit to gain that extra level. After that, the route is unknown to me).

I'm not really sure whether you want to buy the Wool Mittens, Leather Gloves, and Brass Knuckle or not, but I decided to include them in my calculations. I'm sure you could use these benchmarks to decide your leveling plan without it anyways, but still. Also, be sure to pick up that Lazarus Crystal in Gohan's house! It sells for a great deal of zenny! For this chart, when I say "makes easier to kill", that means the enemy in question takes less hits. 55: Nothing 56: Strength + Equip Wool Mittens (Makes Small Criminals easier to kill) 57: Strength (Makes AHNOLD Criminals easier to kill) 58: Strength (Makes Small Criminals easier to kill) 59: Strength (Makes AHNOLD Criminals easier to kill) 60: Strength (Makes Small Criminals easier to kill) (I'm assuming you'll want to grind on the Tanks at Musaka Circus here) 61-64: Strength (Makes Tanks easier to kill) 65: Nothing (Trunk's then replaces Gohan) 60: Equip Wool Mittens (Makes Martial Arts Kid easier to kill) 61-64: Strength (Makes Martial Arts Kid easier to kill) 65: Nothing

Yo, how's progress going? If it helps, it takes Goku pumping up Power until Level 67 before he's finally able to one shot the Other World fighters. After that, using that cycle you used in the TAS video, and killing two extra guys outside of the cycle after initiating it like you did in your youtube video, you'll level up to 70 right after killing Pre-Super Saiyan Pikkon. You'll want to dump your stats into Strength once you hit Level 69, because even though Olibu is killed in three hits at both 67 and 69, Pre-Super Saiyan Pikkon takes only four hits at 69 and five hits at 67. After that, no further stat dump into Strength is necessary once Pikkon has his 2nd wind. I know that's not anything major, but those are at least some little details you won't have to worry about at least, right? I'm perfectly willing to help if there's anything you'd like me to do. I don't know anything about actually hacking game code or anything, but I think I can at least do gameplay things, like figuring out the best places to level up.

Strange how the voice acting could be "considerably worse" than in Turok 1 since the only voice acting in Turok 1 was when he said "I am Turok" :P What I mean by voice acting was both that, the Campaigners victory speech, and all of the battle cries of all the various enemies in the game, ESPECIALLY the battle cries. Seriously, the sounds that enemies make when they're killed are a joke compared to the sounds they made in Turok 1. But anyway, nobody has said this game is good so I don't know where you got that from. I thought it was pretty good though but I'm just a nobody. It's strange, but in many ways Turok 2 actually had better graphics even though it's an older game. The controls were bad (laggy) though and the levels were empty, large and boring, so I thought turok 2 was the worst, and the first was the best. Turok 2 probably had better graphics because it used the fog while Turok 3 didn't. Also, it seems like almost everyone in this thread says that this game was great.

What was it about this game that was so good? I've watched it on Youtube, and it looked like it paled in comparison to Turok 1, and was a fairly generic game. Just average at best, with very linear, uninteresting levels with none of the exploration and interesting environments that Turok 1 had. The voice acting was also considerably worse, and most of the bosses were all a complete joke (again, unlike Turok 1). Of course, I've never played Turok 2, so I don't know how well that holds up compared to 3, but still. What made this game so good?

Personally, I wouldn't find an any% to be terribly interesting, as I don't believe it would be much different than the SDA speed run.

You do? I thought you were stuck about how you didn't know which CO's to use and which skills would be good, and how to manage your points?

Maybe I could do something to help? I can use my powers of non-TAS gaming to try to figure out quick strategies that can be used as rough templates for you guys to work you magic with? And I'll figure out precisely which CO's to use as well. Would that be any help to you guys?

You know, speaking of questions, I'm having an issue with my Dual Strike rom right now. When I'm selecting units on the map, the white cursor that's supposed to be there is nowhere to be found. How do I fix that?

Nah, I don't really do any TASing. I mean, I might, if there's a forum for casual TASing, as it sounds interesting. It's just fairly intimidating seeing you guys all talk about stuff like "saving 175 frames" or some other ridiculous small amount of time saved as though it's this giant leap in speed. As of now, I usually just hang here and ask questions when I feel like it. Thanks for your help by the way.

In terms of both performance and in terms of what games it can play? I'm trying to play Dual Strike, and then maybe Day of Ruin.
