Items are treated somewhat different to NPCs, and as was previously said you can use gameshark to successfully learn NWBS from 7 clones. But nice glitch, very interesting. So you can use the 'zora mask in shallow water' effect to somewhat freeze the loading points, and enter areas with only half the things in there. It seems to be built on some system like "Destroy objects while exiting area, create them upon entering" but it only recognises the "create them..." part. The hearts get recreated on the same spot, but frogs don't. I guess that's because hearts dont have any collision hit box (or whatever). All characters can just run straight through them, so when two are on the same spot nothing needs to happen. It's impossible for link or an NPC to run through another NPC on the other hand, so when one gets created on top of the other it gets pushed out to the side, hence the frogs being created on different places. But what hope do we have of using this to clone zora eggs? We'd need shallow water, and a large room for loading point bypass; but we dont have any of those two things for any of the 7 eggs.

It could possibly save time, but I doubt it. In the levels where there's a ship piece you could send Toejam to get it while big Earl goes round collecting presents, and then regroup them at the lift. More effecient then getting Toejam to do both, but of course it wont bring any advantages for the levels without a ship piece. Earl's slower walking speed will only slow the levels down, so unless each present he collected had rocket skates in it or something it'll just be faster to go with Toejam alone.

I really liked the wip, even though I was fast forwarding most of it due to the slow building speed. I liked level 4 in particular, I wondered what was going on at first but then I realised that it doesnt make any difference. What is hindering the progression of the level is when the final one gets to the exit, so you can play about with the others without sacrificing time. Nice to see them not all in a single uniform file for a change :) I'd like the movie to start with the Fun levels though. Doesnt matter if the movie ended up being 2 hours long, we all know we'd be skipping 70% of it anyway so the real play time would be relatively short. Possible improvements though. When a builder ends up at a wall he'll immediately stop and turn around. If he ends up hitting just below the top corner of a platform however he'll stops building since he hits a wall, but they'll be enough room for him to step up onto it so he'll just continue walking in a straight line. This needs to be done on Level 2, for the third main bridge being built. Notice how it extends far above and beyond the closest point of the platform, so he ends up using far more bricks than needed. This works on the PC versions at least, from the wip it looks like it might not work. On level 3 I would've liked you to move the camera to the left so we could see what was happening to all the other lemmings. Unless of course it causes lag? On level 5 you trap them, and they go back and forth for a while. You can manipulate their positions on the ground by use of the umbrellas. Once released, you want them all to get to the exit as fast as possible, but notice how they're currently in a completely random order due to random umbrella assignments. You should optimise this, try to control their ground positions so that they're bunched up and their periodic motions coincide with the explosion later on. They should start to walk through the wall the moment it explodes, but we had to wait for a few who were still walking about when that happened.

I'd presume each egg has it's own unique identity though, unlike useless stuff like bugs or fairies. Once you collect an egg, you can no longer collect another egg in that exact same spot, so clearly the game knows which eggs you have collected. If it does have some sort of labelling system on the eggs, it might prevent NWBN being learned by collecting 7 clones. EG in the tank you'll have eggs: 2222222 instead of : 1234567, so the game might not recognise it fully and so not teach you the song.

There's no doubt I enjoyed watching this movie, I'm glad to have all the recently discovered tricks finally unified into a working run; but it's still too inefficient. Improvements are very obvious just to the naked eye, and I don't like the idea of such a run replacing the old one. The current run's page should be updated, saying it has been obselleted by this current one, but shove this one into gruefood and keep the old run regardless.

So what you mean is you're going to do a real time run for SDA, but you want to incorperate some of the gliches used in the TAS? Firstly you'll get more information if you post in the original topics

Is it possible to walk underwater anywhere else in the game? Presumably it'd work by using BLJ to penetrate the water's surface before the water mechanics can kick in. If this is proven to work elsewhere, it'd be helpful in creating tactics for the moat.

How about trying the same BLJ but on the opposite side of the castle. Drop down through the tower, and you wont fall into a small room but you should just drop into regular water and have the freedom to swim where you want. Assuming that works, you could then swim underneath the castle floor, and then up into the basement door. See if that works.

I prefer anticipating a run by tracking WIPs, and giving feedback than to just be surprised to see it on workbench one day.

You should look into Lemmings 2 for SNES, so much more entertaining.

Zelda-Lost Woods Sa-ri-a Sa-ri-a Sa-ri-a the sage is so very cool She's no kid fool! Sa-ri-a Sa-ri-a Sa-ri-a the sage captured by the cruel ...dead phantom ghoul. (Kokiri remain looking like kids during their adult years, and Saria was captured in forest temple by Phantom Ganon. I ought to create some more verses at some point) Zelda-Bolero of Fire Fires burning in the darkness Volvagia's mean and heartless! (Bit link's arm and made him armless!) Fires burning Gorons squirming Link is learning Saving Hyrule Link thinks "I rule" On the lava pool...... (Kind of a mouthful, but tricky song to fit lyrics to)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-p-Yl6qhGDw In case anybody was wondering, it's not possible to just jump into the null void and rely on quick death warp to replace link behind the ToT door; because it just shoves him back to wherever he entered the room from. In this case, back in front of the master sword. You do however lose a heart when you do this, so what about simply repeating this over and over until you lose all health. That way you'll get a more formal "Save?"/"Continue?" death, which should allow you to restart on the TOT warp spot, past the door. This'd save a lot of hassle trying to get the Hover boots at least.

I'd lol if somebody made a working TAS of 2 games where you have to constantly go in opposite directions.

If getting bombchus from the well is faster, how come the current submission doesn't do it?

WIP's please, that's the easiest way to get your face known. And I think the all stones/medals isnt a good enough category; I thought it was gonna be any% or 100%. The run still wouldnt be fullfilling enough I think, since the amount of exploits available allow you to skip half of each dungeon anyway, which a 100% run would be forced to stop as you need to go hunting for the skultulas.

I'm bumping this topic as a reminder that a RBA TAS already exists, so people can watch this one in case they dont understand anything about the principle.

Brilliant news. I guess any any progress which SL did make on the current run would be erased now anyway.

Cant find it? We dont use the real cartridges to do TAS's you know, we use Roms instead.

Nah, Jim travels faster through the levels than Psycrow does, it'd be much faster to just complete it yourself. To my knowledge there's no way of instantly losing, the only way to end the level is to cross the finish line. And in regards to collecting all the bubbles, skip 'em. No real point in collecting them, since it's totally boring. Instead you should try doing some entertaining manoevers to avoid them all, kinda like avoiding the apple quarters on Rug Ride on the (old) Aladdin run.
