Screw the video tag function, this isn't the post your videos thread, I actually want to see some discussion of high end PC's going on around here. What sort of rigs have you guys made? Or experienced?

Anyways, I realize that adelikat's decision won't be swayed by a completely random member, but I wanted to point out that not everyone has a problem with the posts in question, and it's a poor trade-off and precedent when quality contributors are banned for being impolite.
I personally believe it's impossible for anyone to sway the management's views. If it was possible, it'd have happened already. The management here are utterly resilient and will not budge from their agenda. Just what their ultimate agenda is though? I don't have a damn clue, but I fear to know what it is. I have weird opinions, don't I?

I'm for this idea if the encoders are paid to do it.

Yes. In fact, obtaining a cart with rewritable ROM chips would make the verification process go a lot faster, due to being able to use the precise same ROM used as was done with the TAS (preventing version difference issues). I have a friend that can do this for the Mega Drive, but it requires a PC with a Parallel port. I'll inquire about NES games.

direct264 + Deldup + 1fps video + AviSynth + 32*24 PNG = Piece of cake. If you wanted to spend the money towards TASVideos, don't encourage me to do it.

Not even I've visited 4chan. It's really very ironic.

I believe it's now theoretically possible to actually upload an encode of this video on Youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=865S1zMcWMo this video have half the number of hours of this movie. And, hey, if anyone actually makes this video, you can win 500 bucks from the author of this video.
He could only upload so much because it was super compressed. A desert bus TAS would need to be similarly grainy.
Should I 1-up him? It shouldn't be too difficult to do, assuming the whole 27 hour video being rejected thing doesn't happen again.

NO U R, FLYGON. NO U R.
Just because the size of my body is inconsistent doesn't mean you need to insult me in front of my people.

You do realize that what will be falling is debris, rather than the satellite as a whole? (Not that the chunks of debris cannot be dangerous if they hit a building or such, but probably not as catastrophic as if the entire satellite were to crash at terminal speed.)
No, it will be a whole. That's how it happened on The Simpsons and in a comic drawn by Don Rosa. Why would TV and Don Rosa lie to me?
The Simpsons also had meteorites burning up upon reentry to the size of a Chihuahua's head. The show is reasonably inconsistent.

Well, since the space station that video mentioned crashed in Australia, if the falling satellite was anywhere near that space station was, it probably would crash in Australia too.
You're aware the Earth and satellites rotate at different relative speeds, right?

What's the difference between Australian and American English?
Basically, Australian English is British English but with some small differences. They're basically interchangeable because everyone here speaks 6 different Englishes anyway. :B

Ah, okay. They never taught this stuff at the schools I went to, that is all. They were otherwise amazingly insistent on the nuances of Australian English and got pissed off when someone wrote in American.
