You just got added to my hate list because I think Ferret Warlord is just brilliant.

I overall prefer Gens, but this is literally just because I've had a much friendlier time dumping AVIs with it and that I've actually made some Tool Assisted Movies on it (Not many of which will reach public attention ever). So, I am very heavily biased.

Because it doesn't have a reliable method of AVI dumping. This is both from recollection and the fact that I just searched for an AVI dumping option inside of it.

I'm not in a University, actually. I'm in my final year at a High School; whatever gave you the impression I was older than 18? Out of curiosity. Also, fliers aren't really allowed at the school (Though I should double check), I'd assume because they want to make money out of the newsletter advertisements.

All the families in the school is the supposed idea. But the students that actually bother to read the newsletter (From hereon called the intellectual ones, hehehe) are the main target, so I estimate 60% of families (Not accounting for students that just hand the newsletter automatically to their parents). It is highly worth nothing that these are just raw estimates though.

As people that regular the IRC may probably know, I've been crapping on about advertising the site in my schools newsletter, I had recently emailed the school about the possibility and... I am pleasantly surprised.
Thomas The rates for students are as follows 1 week$5.00 3 weeks $10.00 1 Term$40.00 1 Year$140.00 You need to send a copy of your add via Jpeg or Word document and it is given to the Principal for approval Thanks Fiona
The rates apply for one square out of six on an A4 piece of paper, the rates go up linearly for every square taken up. I'm not willing to go beyond one square at this moment simply because I am testing waters, I am planning on investing in a 3 week term initially. The only thing that has me worried is that the Principal checks the ad, but I mostly suspect it is mostly a porn check, if worst comes to worst, I'll reassure her that the site is worth putting in the newsletters advertisment section. However, one part has me worried the most, how exactly will we advertise the site? This is the reason why I ask. I am asking for people to come forwards and suggest images that follow a 640*640 (Or any other resolution that follows the ratio) image. I suggest the image follows the logo section in the encoder guidelines vaguely, obviously suited for an advertisement. The school prints its newsletters in greyscale but does email electronic versions to people that subscribe electronically. TODO: Provide an example advertisement that would follow the so called guidelines.

I've actually spoken with adelikat about it somewhat extensively before. It is actually impossible to upload 256*224 screenshots for Mega Drive games using the current system. The Metal Slug publication feel under a very similar issue due to both size slots being filled with much higher resolutions. I just gave it grey borders that match with the default background. I'd do the same for Shining Force but... *shrugs* It seems to work better with black for whatever reasons, consistency with other Mega Drive publications perhaps. Incidentally, I should replace that screenshot at some point... I sort of ripped it from a H.264 lossless dump due to the fact I couldn't be assed redumping a RGB lossless AVI (It was made before I used the Camstudio codec).

Exactly, Shining Force is the exception that runs at 256*224. Have a look at the older screenshots of Shining Force and Shadow of a Beast II's screenshot. They're both 256*224, albeit, with borders.

Can you give the frame numbers? Because the filtering on them is giving me an absolute headache. I mean, we let 256*224 screenshots for NES games, correct? Why not do the exact same thing on Mega Drive games?

I vote Meh. The novelty value of the game being published is nice (No matter how unnice it is being when trying to encode in HD... which will not be coming from me), but the run as a whole, just... bleh. It's not the run, it's the game.

Isn't the whole site (Except the forums) literally composed of a 'Wiki' (I use the term very loosely) style system? The sites pretty flexible (Within reasonable constraints, of course, hehehe), what bugs you about its design? I do agree it looks a little drab in colour scheme, but there is not much reason to change that apart from purely cosmetic reasons. Perhaps a customizable colour palette/skin options?

I'd go for 2160p but I don't think I'll find many movie cinemas willing to lend me a screen to show this run. Unless I can get one of those 100in TVs.

It does, but it takes a great deal of setup, and there were only six games made that require it.
What setup other than a 32x bios file is required?
A Sega CD BIOS is also required.

I'm not against two different runs being published, personally, though slightly redundant. This is one of those 'unsolvable' arguments. *Sigh*

I see no reason to slow down a good TAS. If you wanted the story you'd play the game itself. Or in the case of an RPG based on a movie, watch the movie (Even if the said RPG is actually more accurate to the book then the movie).

1080p YouTube 1080p MKV (Note the filename has an error in it, it is suppose to be tasv2, but I can't be assed fixing it) I'm slightly disappointed ShinyDoofy isn't a publisher anymore... what happened?

Maybe not 'true' for NES/Snes games since a CRT would blur the pixels but I would still support a sexy 1080p SMB encoding.

Webnations, I sent the PM because I had not wanted your time to be wasted uploading the 'SD' based encodes. You are still completely free to upload them to YouTube if you want, but the problem is, your links will simply be replaced by the 'HD' links in the near future assuming the HD encode is done after publication, if the encode is done before publication, it would probably be chosen in preference over your upload for quality sakes. I am really sorry if I wasn't specific enough, I am bad at phrasing points into words... I fear the day I take my job interview. This does mean that runs longer then 10 minutes are still completely free to be YouTubed though, I lack both the computational resources to encode such long movies (Unless I grow another brain for patience) and the fact my account doesn't allow for such long movies.

That'd make sense, because I have zero understanding of American football whatsoever. How Australian Football or Soccer, those sort of games make sense.
