May I also point out that some games (Such as Sonic 3 and Knuckles and Mr. Chins Gourmet Paradise) don't even have an input based random number generator, it is simply based on how many frames have passed. The only way to manipulate luck is to either pause or wait.

On a somewhat related note, I recall that the site was going to be translated to Japanese to more easily accommodate Japanese TASers. How well is this going? Probably not the best time to ask this question, but it is either when adelikat is out of holiday and this topic is possibly dead, or now.

Ah, understood. I noticed that some of Aktan's muxes would actually break Windows Media Player, I guess the same applies to Flash.

Indeed, Nach did a brilliant job. I'm particularly happy that the Archive.org streaming works, it helps even the videos that won't work on DailyMotion work like a breeze (Albeit, with 22050Hz sound from what I can tell, but who gives a damn, it's streaming). However, I have an idea on how it can be improved. If the published encode is already an MP4, can I suggest streaming that one instead? Sure, unless it is an encode with a huge post 512 bitrate, the video won't improve much, but I like my 44100Hz audio.

Okay, after much investigation, we've found that the audio is MUCH higher quality then the 2004 encode. The 2004 encode used a 32kbits MP3, Grunts encode uses 80kbits Vorbis. Personally, I'll just publish using Grunts encode right now simply because the video quality is spiffing, nor do I want him to go any lower (There is some little artifacts as telltale signs he is on a border of some form) and that the audio is up to todays standards. That, and people don't have dial up anymore. =P

Same image again but now with 36 less bytes! Sorry about the file extension. It really is a PNG, but Tinypic changes it for some reason.
As much as I am jealous, I'm obliged to keep the file sizes as small as possible. Now, I have to ask you all, should I publish Grunts encode? It is only 6mb larger then this games previous publication, but I also expect it to be much higher quality (Considering that the 2004 encode possibly looked rather bad to compensate for older Internet connections back then). Personally, the gap is neglible considering the file sizes (Grunts=92mb, 2004=86mb), but it is still there. Please, the general audience, do you want me to publish Grunts encode or delay this several days to squeeze as many megabytes out as possible? I'll download the 2004 encode now to make direct comparisons, but I please ask you all to vote to publish now or not. And to add a quote my Grunt from IRC:
Grunt: Very observant. Grunt: I think 6MB is an adequate trade-off for much improved visual quality. Grunt: Besides, the encode as a whole is still hovering at around 3:1...

Uh... if I knew that I wouldn't have published it then. >_< I'm sorry for any inconvenience, I took the judges decision as final and I guess none of us expected you to actually 'fix' it up.

As the local TASVideos furry I agree with this statement.
Another of you guys comes out of the woodwork. There's about 3 or 4 of you now!
Oh, don't act so surprised, it has been in my profile for a while now. =P
Apparently I am a furry, but this was actually brought on by some friends saying I was and it kind of stuck on from there. No, I don't own a fursuit, stop asking.
But yeah, I'm surprised I'm not the only one, if your 3-4 statement is correct.
Sorry, I don't check user profiles that often. But come now, I've had a number of people think I'm a furry, and yet I'm not one. ;P As for other users, they seem to be inactive right now. Haven't seen AnotherGamer or DonamerDragon around for a while. So I guess you're the only active one. ...And with that I think we've derailed the topic.
I never accused you of being furry, trust me, I know enough people with misleading (for a lack of better term) names. Anyway, I blame Kuwaga for mentioning females on TASVideos. Now lets go back to what the last sensible statement in this topic was...
I see this as a bad idea since the votes are suppose to cut towards how good the movie is, not that because someone else submit it. Though, I might need to rethink this.

Btw, we should totally revive his Puzzle De Pon submission somewhen, then publish it without the author's approval! ;)
Is that comment real or a joke? Either way, I don't think we're allowed to revive cancelled submissions.

Honestly, this isn't even a topic in the first place. It was more of a 'Well, I'll either let you discuss my LUA script or tempt Flygon to post a silly reaction image'.

If you can get an unfiltered version of that screenshot, I'll publish it with that, if, of course, the movie is accepted.

veup, you're a blessing. Also, encoding, I have no idea what on Earth to set the bitrate to though, 380? The emulator lagged enough (60% speed) trying to dump it in H.264 lossless. It must be the 3D things in the side.

The two platforms will simply kill you, unless there is some sorta 1 frame time frame to do this in or something.

The screenshot is not up to quality standards. Is someone able to give a frame number for an equivalent screenshot? Or, even better, take a lossless version of it from the emulator (Not lossless H.264 encode) and post it here?

I dare say I couldn't agree more good sir! Why, it is such a spiffing description a demand it be recorded down in the history of importaint texts at once! I just LOVED the 'And so on' stage in this run, just brilliant! Not that 'the first stage' didn't have it's fare share of WTF moments too. ... But on a more serious note, you may wanna get an actual description in there dude. =P

Sorry for the lateness of this, but it turns out the forum software didn't post the reply. If your torrent isn't working and it is listed as an MKV, please redownload it, I made a mistake and replaced the torrent after 5-10 minutes of its publication.

Suggested screenshot compliments of Truncated. Already 100% optimized. I'll publish this when I either get around to making a decent looking encode (Probably tomorrow) or someone else makes a good enough encode that fits in the 4 to 1 restriction... otherwise I'd just publish Aktan's encode, which from past experience, manages to get past many of this games codec poisoning experiences. Just a note that if you go by standard mechanisms, the castle level will need a bitrate between 1500 to 3000 to look decent, as well as the fact this game has plenty of levels with parallax scrolling... which is part of the reason I am afraid to encode this game. =P
