Thanks for the hard work! Would it be better if "CGB in GBA" option is combined with this one like what VBA did? I don't think it's possible to activate monochrome mode on GBA. Edit: Actually, in the most recent developer build, the game(Wendy: Every Witch Way) wouldn't detect GBA at all when the bios is enabled.

If your run aims at "any%" or "100%", it wouldn't be rejected based on the voting result. Why do you even mind about it so much?

This question still remains unanswered.
I suppose the answer is yes since Wiiware don't require CD reading. I think another worth discussing case is SGB. It is well-known that the original SGB model has a faster frame rate than an actual GB does. This wasn't really an issue in the past since all 11 published (non-obsolete) SGB movies were made with VBA, which doesn't emulate SGB well(http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=13623). Now, there are emulators with TASing functions that actually emulate SGB mode properly. Should SGB2 bios be preferred for its "correct" frame rate, or should vanilla SGB bios be preferred for its faster frame rate, which is the very reason NTSC roms are usually preferred over PAL roms?

Now that GB(C) bios support is added, is there a way to boot a GB game with GBC bios?

This is epic. Yes vote. Hopefully someone will eventually TAS Contra Rebirth and Gradius Rebirth.

I have a question about recording movie on Dolphin with GBA input. Did you have to keep VBA running during the making of this run?

Such a mind-blowing run. Easy Yes vote. Do you plan to do an in-bound run of this game similar to [1478] GBA Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow by Kriole in 20:58.62?

Does that skip crash the game on WiiU VC? It doesn't validate inaccurate emulation in Desmume tho.

It let you download the NPII core. I don't think it adds any additional functionality yet, but hopefully becoming a libretro core makes that platform a step closer to being TASable.

PC-98 can run Windows 95, and Neko Project II, a PC-98 emulator, has been recently ported to Libretro. I wonder what's the chances of NPII being able to run Final Fantasy 7 on Windows 95? https://sites.google.com/site/np21win/setup/win95 Here is a tutorial for running Windows 95 on NPII. Too bad I can't read it.

Sorry. The only thing I got is the standard Windows "not responding" window. However, I was using the image I found a few years ago. I found a different SotN disk image, and now it works. Problem solved.

Are you loading the CUE (or the CCD, whichever you have)? Saturn SotN loads just fine for me on BizHawk 2.0.
I'm loading the CUE, and other Saturn games load just fine for me.

In Bizhawk 2.0, the buttons to choose NES and GBA cores malfunction. Loading Saturn SotN crushes the emulator.

The real question here is, why would anyone want to TAS an emulated game (by virtual console, an emulator with many game-specific compatibility hacks) inside another emulator (Dolphin) when they could just TAS the game directly in a superior emulator?
The best answer to this is Ocarina of time, which have a glitch in VC thzt is impossible on a real N64. And I think it's not the only game in this case
Would that then be a Wii TAS or an N64 one? I'm fairly certain the revision of OOT used in Wii VC is the revision we already have pubs on. [the rest of this post was excised due to questionable proposals]
Wii VC's are technically Wiiware, so probably a Wii one? In the case of OoT, Gamecube version, which is an emulation of N64 version for most part, also works.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virtual_Console#PAL_issues
A select few games were already optimized in the original release to begin with, and are thus just as fast as their 60 Hz counterparts this time around (the most obvious examples being Donkey Kong Country and Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest).
Does this mean the PAL VC version of this game runs at 60 Hz?

I suppose there isn't a thread for this topic? So far, there has not been an submission or publication of an actual Wii Virtual Console(or other official emulator) run, but what's the acceptability of runs of those "games"? Sure, there usually aren't enough differences between the vanilla game and the emulated version to make someone care enough to make an optimized VC run with Dolphin at the first place(it would usually be much easier to TAS the extracted ROM on its original platform when the ROM inside VC is special). However, there are notable exceptions, usually when the official emulator has non-trivial or even intentional inaccuracies. A relatively well-known example is Zelda OoT on GC/VC. The details can be read here. Another noteworthy example is FDS Castlevania II. I tried to TAS this game, just to realize the movie would be BORDERLINE UNWATCHABLE due to extensive loading time. However, the Wii VC version of this game has much shorter loading time and a run on this version would be much more enjoyable. This might be the case for several other CD based games. Would an official emulator run with bearable loading time be preferred over a vanilla game run in this case?

Doesn't this rule give Game Gear an edge over SMS when a game is available on both platforms?

I guess it's a good idea to post information about DKJ and DK3 in this thread as well. Since Nécroyeur's TAS was rejected for not reaching the kill screen, future runs for DKJ and DK3 will probably be judged by the same standard. Link to video Link to video There isn't a real kill screen in DK3, but the eternal blue screen can probably be considered the end of the game. As a side note, the kill screen glitch is fixed in Donkey Kong II Jumpman Returns so a run for that game should only have to complete one loop.

What is Pokémon Box Ruby & Sapphire actually doing when it runs Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire? Does it run the game with the GBA hardware attached to Gamecube, or does it perform software emulation? I wonder if certain glitches would have different effects when the game is running with Pokemon Box.

Second. I have done some basic routing for this. The order of the endings will probably be S/HGC/ED/FB/A ("/" means restart). Since the S ending portion will be identical to the S ending run, it probably should replace it when it's done. I'm not going to actually start the run any time soon though.

That's great to hear. Will MAME be an actual Bizhawk core or a part of the libretro core like how it is now?

I found a .col file named "Donkey Kong for Adam (1982)" and a .ddp file named "Coleco Supergames - Donkey Kong Junior (1982-83)(Nintendo)". The first one is recognized by Bizhawk's dump status report and runs normally. However, when I try to run the second rom, "TURN GAME OFF BEFORE INSERTING CARTRIDGE OR EXPANSION MODULE" shows up in the middle of the screen. That being said, does ColecoHawk support Coleco Adam roms?
