GJTAS: Gotcha. For reference, This is the speed it generally ran at on a 486. Derp. I just read the above comments on the ingame speedup. I did not know it could do that, nor that it was so unrestrained. Whoooosh.

That was quite good! Not an all-towers run sadly, but still a good showcase. I will note that the gameplay is running Much faster than it would on a normal dos machine. What's the decision making process behind what Cycles to use and what speed to have it run at?

This run was brought to you by OOLAY! Great improvements. Why does the main hall music play in Death's area? Is that because Julius Mode? It's been a loooong time since I played this normally.

Mission 15's been added, so he's clearly still working on it. It's great stuff. There isn't really a good "screenshot" moment, but I'd give an iconic moment of Vergil 1 saying "Don't get so cocky" as Dante stands on the head of a statue you normally can't get on and does a little taunt dance.

Well, here's an incomplete playlist of a japanese runner TASing it: http://www.nicovideo.jp/mylist/35757062 Goes up to Mission 14. Needs a Nico account, but it's pretty swanky. It's very much a "spends time for entertainment value" sort of run, but that's not a bad thing.

Beats the game as fast as possible, fighting every Boss. Seems simple enough to quantify, no?

Very nice! I'm left wondering if the Gergoth showboating cost frames though, since he's available to be dropkicked when you do that. Seconding the spike tunnels praise: silly game thinking you "need" bat form to get through there. Masochism and Save rooms will suffice.

Alternate title - You Can't Hit Me: The Movie: The Game Yes vote here. Always amusing to see TASes of broken characters taken to its logical conclusion. Sad there wasn't more of "A PICKLE SHOT", but speed concerns trump bad voice acting.

What about a glitchless run? A glitched out of bounds run would be pretty boring honestly. I'm sure a glitchless run will take a lot of time, but the end result would be amazing to watch!!!
Seconding a call for a glitchless 100% run.

I hand you the SDA thread, so that you can bask in their (still undercooked) wisdom: http://forum.speeddemosarchive.com/post/binding_of_isaac.html

Yeah, that's basically my point. The Keen trilogies feel like three different games, and the Hocus Pocus trilogy does not, and they used to be priced equally.
Actually no, HP was sold 1 as shareware, 2-4 as a single game purchased. Keen was 4 shareware, and 5 and 6 were separate games each with a full ticket price.

As I mentioned on SDA, that's a bit ridiculous to pull off realtime, so I'll through my thoughts over here: Rather, try and use the Trooper on the left side of the room to shoot you up there. It seems like it would be easier than blasting the Berserker up there and getting a good manipulation on her shot time.

So, got some tips for you, having just finished recording a test run for Iji through the Pacifist route: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pNYWXWA_Vl8&feature=related Sector 3: If you keep the truce up, you can actually skip the dialogue in the cutscene afterwards right after Vateilika kills Krotera. Aka, most of the scene. Sector 4: Also, if you keep the truce up, no reboot needed, as you won't have thrown the points into Attack/Tasen/Assimilate. Sector 9/X: You might look into grabbing Ansaksie here(and by extension, the Massacre in Sector X), but it's a long shot. If you do, the idea is to manipulate Ansaksie into spamming her Massacre on Iosa, as it's by far the fastest way to end the fight. She's unlocked by getting the supercharge in Deep Sector(and subsequently killing yourself to warp back to the Tasen base). The Massacre speeds up Tor dramatically(about 2.5 waves versus 6), but requires 0 kills up until that point, meaning you need to grab Ansaksie(which as mentioned, takes a good 30 seconds minus what she saves in the Iosa fight).

I have a bunch of other addresses including the location of the bits that control the current difficulty. If it is allowed (but I doubt it), I could write a lua script that would modify the bits to change the difficulty to Ultimate as soon as the game begins (Gameplay Clock turns 0 for new game).
This part confuses me a bit. Ultimate difficulty isn't unlocked until after the game, and SRAM won't help you, as saved data is deleted when starting a new game.

I'd think so. With proper TASing(and ungodly patience), you could set up a very nice layout of XP shrines and bosspacks for the sorc to get teleport faster, at which point it's time to bounce around the map like an idiot. There's also the 100% run, but the sorc wins hands down on that one, as she has 2+ hours to run around with teleport there.

So cruel. Still, I wanted to see it just because I can't even find a normal play that gets past Ensign. At least Super Android had a video of someone waking the android without TAS; there's just nothing showing off the rest of the game for SCP.

Digging for Victory by eating the floor. Classic. Though the video is wonky, as has been mentioned. I could watch it, kinda, it started fritzing out at about the castle.

Yeah, do a clean SRAM run first. Upload a NG+ afterwords if you want to, but start with the basic play. As for actual running tips, would it properly record date changes in the emulator? If so, Shutdown PP abuse would allow you to max out early good pins(like the ice pillar one). Also, I forget if lowering your level changes your stats, or just your HP. If it drops stats, then use luck manipulation for drops, otherwise keep it at Level 1 for easier luck manipulation and 'wow factor'. EDIT: Someone on Gamefaqs made a speedrun guide, but didn't have the equipment to record(silly DS and it's ways of stuff). Have a read here: http://www.gamefaqs.com/ds/935689-the-world-ends-with-you/faqs/54810

Is it possible that changing Soma's luck stat (by equipping a +lck soul for instance) could help with impossible soul drops?
If I recall, changing LCK only changes the target number for a drop, not the actual check for whether a drop is possible. Silly RNGs based around CanItDrop>ButWillItDrop>WhatKindOfDrop, they make everything more annoying to manipulate.

Not very TASable, as beating a level normally is about as optimal as you can get, given how the game plays. Have a playthrough here if you wanna watch it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DwMbvTJSXwM
