I think that after the last fight the music was shaded by the P-speed sound, i think thats bad, imo. But i guess there was no way around it, was there? :)
Sorry for the music: I must get the speed power for passing through the corner of the floor.
Did genisto test if it was possible to go through walls at the flute room? It was mentioned at the thread, i tried a little but couldnt do it, did he try it?
The ceiling is unreachable at top speed: I tried to pass through the wall at normal speed and it's seen not possible Thanks everyone ;)

Is there any reason you chose to use the PRG1 version rather than the PRG0 version?
I do not have particular reason of my choice, but what I can say is: the movie work fine on both versions (PRG0 and PRG1) I am unaware of the difference that there is between these versions. To answer to FODA: yes, I can do the rest with pleasure and I manage to get the perfect time!, but for now, I have a problem on the map world: Normally, when we hold the good direction button, the character advance to the next step soon as possible, but sometime, he blocks when he can move and I must wait 1 frame before moving. Exemple: in my japan version the character did not block on both steps before the tank level, but in my 2 others versions, he blocks on both steps before this level. It's not related to the game version: FODA was the same problem in his version.

I have done the change in the movies: it's save me 19 frames: Stage 1: 11 frames faster using the trick of Sleepz Stage 2: 2 frames lost due to a bad random with the hammer guy on the map world Stage 3: 6 frames faster Castle : 4 frames faster: good random with the hammer guy http://genisto.servehttp.com/Super_Mario_Bros._3_U_PRG1_Genisto.rar

I have done the World 1 in the US version: about 55 frames saved in each level done, but lost about 139 frames when the text appear at the end of stage 3 comparing to the Japan version = 135 frames faster with the castle level improved a little bit (5 frames) http://genisto.servehttp.com/Super_Mario_Bros._3_U_PRG1_Genisto.rar

About the boomerang guy in stage 3: if I kill this guy, I was not able to reach the second turtle soon as possible. For the link, my Firewall was the problem. Some among you would like to know the secrecy of the perfection about the time attack Hint #1: if you have an idea and you do not test it because it too long to realize, you have a large chance to be imperfect Hint #2: Finding bugs: it's not easy to find it, because we must be very lucky, or we must test all every thing we know. Be a game maker can help too, because these people know how the games work (translation between frames, the gravity, how the collision works when a character touch the wall (most of bugs are related to the collision in platform games), ...): I am myself a game maker.

I have done the world 1 with 52 frames faster than FODA. Improvment: At stage 2, I succeeded to run on the first pipe + running while going down on the floor increase speed a little At stage 3, I used the shell of the second turtle to hit the power up's block I have done an other path in the castle (running from the beginning), but the result is same as FODA's path http://genisto.servehttp.com/Super_Mario_Bros_3_(J)_Genisto.zip FODA: if you want, you can continue my run. I have tried to match your tank's level with my run, but it desinchro for different reasons (lags and instability).

Me and Phil will restart from the beginning, correct some errors. But this time, we will analyse all everythings. We will try to do movements as in SMB2.

I wonder why Genisto didn't jump backwards towards the hovering pipe in 8-4. I recall Michael Fried saying it would be faster.
I admits my error, I had not tested this possibility at this place. I will start again this part and will stop the movies at the time where Mario grab the hammer.

It's not so simple: I used my own trick for dealing the most of damage as possible. I did it by doing frame by frame while testing with the fire button. If no bullet is fired, I reload this frame, don't press the fire button and continue to the next frame.

I agree with him. I have a suggestion: At the end of the month, we should make a top 5 for each game, including the fmv, the smv or the gmv of each one.

However, I have started using it from stage 4-1 Well the title of the movie is "Perfect Time by Genisto", so I guess that means you have to start all over, even if it's just for a quarter of a second :).
Yes, I will restart from the beginning.

Here's another suggestion. I'm not sure if this has any use in a speed run, but if you even need to turn around fast, you can let go of B for a frame as you turn around, and you won't slide as far as if you held down B for the whole time, and you'll start running in the opposite direction sooner.
Ok, I will check that

Yes, I uses it. This hack gives us a better control than the 20 fps. However, I have started using it from stage 4-1.. If I would start again, I would save about 1/4 of seconds. Thx for your suggestions Michael Fried, I will try it in the next level.

I have tried a lot of way to do the fastest way as possible and when I jumped it was for slowing down the character because of that ice. The fact that I fall on the edge or not, does not change anything because I fall directly on the rocket

Why not use the Laser option more frequently? Wouldn't that be faster on most stages?
Yes the laser is more effective in some levels but I wanted to return my video most impressive possible.

Here the reason which I have waited on level 26: I was to wait until the triangles encircled in red on the image are aligned before I launch the ball.
