Okay, fixed the URL links, sorry adelikat but even if Shadow of the Beast has much better music, the beast that is Back to the Future is a blast from the past living in the current time and day that is here to torture us all. We shall develop a plan to make a tool assisted time machine to force this music into 700AD, hopefully crazy religious sects will burn it up to hell.
The music's that bad, huh? I actually kind of liked the music in this game even if it was just the same track over and over again. :) I guess I'm in the minority in this one (I've been getting that a lot lately). And about the bonus stages, I even tried moving up and down at random intervals to try to make it more interesting. That's what I did for the v-scroll stages as well. Just the thought of collecting clocks and the way he moves around the screen gave the feeling of actual time travel. I thought that was cool.

Good luck making this interesting. This game is pretty boring even for an autoscroller. The only difference between the four street segments is the speed of the enemies and the color of the road, and the minigames are relatively short and uninteresting. If the game were half as long, I think you could make a decent run with the UD/LR glitches I posted in the other thread. As it is, I think the only thing that could save this game is an extremely bizarre level skip glitch that probably doesn't exist.
That is the glitch I was using the whole time. When I first played this (with U+D/L+R enabled like I always do) I was like "why is my character moving toward the bottom of the screen so fast" and I realized that pressing up, down, and right at the same time did that. I found a way to use a combination of those controls to get to all the clocks, bees, hula-hoop girls, bullies, and guys with glass windows. I also realized that shooting the clocks with the bowling ball doesn't count. You have to actually touch the clock. The walking stages are basically the same (I watched a couple of playthroughs of the game on YouTube). Not only are the palettes for particular walking sections different, but the setup has been modified a bit (not by much). I could practically memorize the palette for all the walking stages after playing them so many times.

Isn't it also kind of weird that in that WIP there was no wall jump at the end of the airship's boss to grab the wand like you did in world 6! Any reason for that!?!?! Do you realize how much time that could save?!?!?!? I love saveing time!!!!!! :D =D :-D :=D >:D XD

I'm surprised your first submission didn't start with Mega, and end with a single digit number! Anyway, impressive glitch demonstration. I always enjoy these short, sweet, glitched up runs, so obvious yes vote from me.
Well...I just wanted to pace myself. :) Next up: Back to the Future- Aims: highest score and fastest time!!!!!! :D:D:D That's right this time i'm going to tell what games i will be tasing!

Thanks guys! :D I think that also in making this movie, even if it is only 1 1/2 minutes (approx.), there was still tons of speed (considering how short it is) and entertainment value that can be found (and that was one of the most challenging 1 1/2 minutes ever)! I look forward to it being published!!! :D

I was thinking for World 4 Level 4 it should go something like this: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/522821027/GlitchMan-Super%20Mario%20Bros.%203%20%28U%29%20%28PRG1%29%20%5B%21%5D-world4-4.fm2 In my opinion, I think it is way faster than jumping off of the last platform (Mario maintains his running speed in the water by crouching since the Giant Block is partially in the water).

Yeah, sorry that the staircase section took up roughly 3/4 of this video. I couldn't help it (too many ****ing floors). I understand that the staircase wasn't the most exciting part of the movie. I am so glad y'all saw the effort I put into making this movie. :)

Wait a second, I tried "TASing" this game and to the extent of my knowledge you need to wait exactly 10 minutes until you can enter the ZULL building. So in fact you can wait 10 minutes and enter with any amount of cash OR get $15,000 and enter anytime?
That's right (according to this TAS)! :) Also, I didn't know waiting 10 minutes is another way to get into the Zuul Building too. I thought it was just getting the $15,000 and then you can enter. When did you start TASing this game (just curious)?

Nice run!! You sure made a hard game look easy!! Oh, and how long did it take you to mainipulate those ghosts in the zuul biulding anyway?
Thanks! :D It took 3 days for me to complete this entire run. The stairs took forever (2 hours for each day) and the ghosts were really hard to luck manipulate. It took 6 hours total for me to TAS to get up the stairs without getting killed by the ghosts.

Thanks for congratulating me on my first submission, everybody! For fighting Gozer, I wasn't sure whether to buy the Hyper Beam or the regular Capture Beam at the beginning (you have to buy a proton beam in order to enter the building). I tested with both of them and it turns out that the type of beam you have doesn't affect the number of hits it takes to kill Gozer. Besides, it was faster to buy the Capture Beam because I won't have to spend as much time doing the "buy and trade back Ghost Alarm to gain money" glitch.

いい Has to be the shortest ending text in video game history... It doesn't top the ending text they had in the (U) version though... which I won't spoil... Be sure to watch AVGN's movie of this game if you haven't already http://www.gametrailers.com/video/angry-video-screwattack/17324
I already watched AVGN's review of it over the summer this year. In fact, that was the first episode of AVGN I had watched (It was really funny how he tore up this game! I couldn't stop laughing! :D). That's where I got the idea to make this speedrun. Also, I did play the (U) version of this game too (I have both versions on my computer right now)! :D Let me tell you, there were a lot of typos (Conglaturation! WTF!?! XD) in the ending of the (U) version of this game! Even I have to admit this game gets tedious after playing it for a while. :( At least I'm done with it! :)

I don't know if an AVGN movie should influence what I vote... but after watching it... one is interested how it looks when it's completed as fast as possible. It wasn't extremely entertaining... but it's very short, and I certainly wanted to see it. Plus it looks pretty optimized, voting yes.
I know! This is so exciting! My first submission ever! It's no Mega Man game but it's a start. :)

Just saw the youtube.com vid. That is awesome! I really liked the stutter running! What an improvement!

To me, there's nothing like a good ol' zipping glitch across the wall/floor/ceiling, expecially in Mega Man games. :)

The glitch that is used to pass through the ground, as shown in the digging stages, can be used here too: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1050666049/GlitchMan-Super%20Mario%20Bros.%202%20%28U%29%20%28PRG1%29%20%5B%21%5D-W4-1.fm2 This occurs at the end of the first room when I throw the vegetable at the enemy. That allows me to pass through the ice. I think there are more places that this glitch can be used.

I know...I feel bad for him too. T_T At least I went for the fastest time possible, so he's gonna be out of the boss select screen sooner than he thinks. ;)

I tried doing Doc Air Man using magnet zipping, and I don't think it actually saves time because in the currently published video the TASer still hits Doc Robot perfectly reaching the back door as he kills him, and magnet zipping would be equally fas. (magnet zipping is probably more entertaining, though). Also, I found this odd (and useless) glitch: if you slide, press back for 1 frame and press A the next, Mega Man will jump and face forward but the game thinks he's facing the other way, so if you shoot, the shots come out of Mega Man's back. Not terribly useful, but it might look funny if you do it during bossfights.
I knew about that glitch already, but good find though. :)

http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1251138666/GlitchMan-Mega%20Man%204%20%28U%29-07perfectrunthrough.fm2 OK! This time I finally optimized the usage of the Rush Jet for Skull Man's stage so that it saves every possible frame. :) This time around, I used the trick to zip the Rush Jet every 2 frames in the first room. This allowed me to get extra height for getting up the ladder at the end of that room. Then in the third room I took the lower route which saved more time. The rest was optimized by better sliding and screen positioning (not sure about lag reduction).

Nice... it looks like this will be a bit faster. One does however need a big refill from that last enemy. How much of the first level have you currently TASed?
I'm at the checkpoint (4th room). I'm stuck on the lag parts of it. When I shoot an enemy, an item of some sort always happens to come out of it. It's SO ANNOYING because guess what: IT CAUSES LAG!!! <:( But don't worry! I'll find a way around it...somehow...

Finally! I got past the horrible room with the horrible lag! So far I saved a total of 5 frames off my latest WIP.

Glitchman, are you going to finish this run soon?
I dunno. :( I'm stuck on a frame of lag on Wind Man's stage (fifth room, the one with all the enemies and lag). The worst part of it is: it's right on the upper platform when I begin sliding. Normally there wouldn't be a frame of lag there (since they usually begin when a screen starts scrolling and/or there are too many sprites on screen). Come on! There aren't THAT many sprites on the screen for it to do that! This is going to take me a bit longer because of the fact that I'm having a horrible time dealing with lag. Maybe I'm going too fast and the game can't keep up. >:( That shouldn't be the case but right now I'm thinking that it is.
