I have tried many things to try and get faster walking, but have failed. If you can get it to work once while recording, you should post it.
I'll keep you posted! ;)

You know what? I think there is a sliding glitch somewhere in this game. You remember the glitch that only works on the Anniversary Collection version and not this version where right when you kill a boss and you are sliding the sliding stops but you walk in sliding speed? I found this type of glitch in MM4 last November when I was playing in Dr. Cossack Stage 3 (stage 0A) and at the exact same time the gate finished closing you slide then start walking but at sliding speed! It has to exist in this game somewhere!!!!!! We have to start searching!!! :D I know we can do it!

I KNOW! RIGHT? :D IT'S TERRIBLE!!! P.S. It's the move where I have to adjust the gravitational acceleration at the ladder part with the jet so I can jump on top of the ladder one frame earlier (it's in the previous WIPs but I only discovered it in Knight Man's stage). I missed two of these in Yamato Man's stage so I think it will save two or three frames total for that stage! When I post my WIP you'll see what I mean!
Sounds nice dude! Also be sure to know that frame rules does exist and be ready, you're going to feel my wrath in the future :P
It's about time you posted on here! :D Thanks for your support! It means a lot! :D This is going to be the most fastest movie ever! :D

I admire your determination here mega_man_3. Before I continue, this has been tested in the past by myself, and probably a few others. It was tested to be slower then. However, in saying that, this doesn't mean that you should stop the test. It was years ago when it was tested and may have had flaws. I would love to see a third route TAS'd and be faster than previous runs. Good luck with this, I will quietly be following your progress. If you want, you can upload your .fcm's so we can watch your progress. Vatchern.
Thanks Vatchern! P.S. Were you talking about testing the strategy where you switch to Top Spin instead of Magnet Missile?
Ahh, no. I was talking about testing the route that you are taking.
Oh, I thought that because we were on the topic of Shadow Man's stage using Top Spin. Thank you for clarifying that. :)

I HAVE TO GO BACK AND REDO MEGA MAN 6 (from that point only)!!! :(:(:( SORRY GUYS!!!!!! :):):D

1) If you have balloon left after a boss battle, which would be possible for you after brightman for instance, as you could save a balloon with your strat, then you can save time by using the balloon to move to the center of the room after brightman is dead to skip the animation (like we did for pharaohman animation after the battle). Going to the start menu to select balloon will cost a lot, but skipping the animation will still save a few frames.
This reminds me of that glitch I saw after the boss in Dive Man's stage from the '06 run. I think this glitch gave way to the one demonstrated after the Pharaoh Man and Bright man boss fights. Great find on this one!

2) After brightman, it might very well be a good idea to do drillman instead of ringman. At drillman's stage, only bright flash is used, which you already have, and the dive missles damage the boss 3 hp, which is the same as a charged pharaohshot, and with your strategy, pretty much no time will be lost at the drillman bossbattle either. Doing drillman first will give you access to rushjet at stages like skullman's stage, which allows for way faster glitching through the wall than using balloon, so this will no doubt save time. (This glitching might save time in other stages and places too).
I never thought of that. I will do that strategy only this time I think it might be faster if at the end of room 1 of Drill Man's stage I switch to the balloons to "climb" the ladder section (I think the weapon switch is worth it!) then switch to Pharaoh Shot. This also helps so that I won't waste time taking damage on the enemies in room 3 because with Flash Stopper the helmet enemy won't pop up.

The new pharaohshot strategy saved also time here compared to the published run, although the boss X position could be better.
I couldn't find a way to get Ring Man to go as close to the center as I can. He walks toward the area that Mega Man was at a particular frame and I tried to walk as close to the center as I can while still being able to hit him with Pharaoh Shot. I just worked with what I had.

Here is a WIP for the first three stages: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1438819497/mega_man_3-MEGAMAN4%20%28WIP1%29.fcm Sorry for keeping you guys so long. My computer keeps overheating and progress has been really slow. I thought I might wait until Ring Man's stage was done to post this. You guys should really check this one out. I found a way to utilize Pharaoh Shot so that the boss is hit at almost the exact time it is vulnerable again!

OR you could duplicate your movie file, and then test if it's improvable. If it isn't, then you can submit the movie and write the submission info afterwards, so as to satisfy those who wish to watch the completed movie :)
That works too. :D

I'm feeling kind of iffy about the Wily Stage 1 boss because when I tried to luck manipulate the dragon to shoot the platform as soon as possible I realized that it was set at a particular frame even before the boss fight began. I'm not sure if that can be luck manipulated. I HAVE TO GO BACK AND REDO ALL 4 STAGES!!! EVERY SECOND HAS TO COUNT!!!

I finished Shadow Man's level and it turned out that switching to Top Spin to get rid of the parachuting enemies is faster and I manipulated them into falling close enough so that I could use my weapon on them.

Also, since I'm on Shadow Man's level now, I'll just point this out: You can use Top Spin on the hopping enemies and the parachute enemies near the end! This will help me because I think it will save some time since I won't have to waste 40 or so frames to make a switch to Magnet Missile since I don't have it.

You could submit it right away if you want to as long as you add explanations later, you wouldn't be the only one to do that.
I'll just go ahead and wait until I finished my summary then submit the movie with the summary. :D

Also, I tested a glitch in this game on a few enemies where if you are one pixel from making an enemy appear and you turn left for one frame the enemy won't appear. I tested this in Top Man's stage and it worked! I wonder if it would have worked on some of the enemies (especially the bee enemies at the beginning) in Hard Man's stage though. Looks like I'll have to go back and see if I can make it work.

I finally beat stage 4! Now I'm on stage 1... of Dr. Wily's castle that is! ;) Now I AM 3/4 of the way through the game. (Technically, I'm more than 3/4 since the last three stages after this one are extremely short.)

Oh, when my movie is finished, is there any chance you can post it (or get someone to) on http://vision.ameba.jp since I'm almost done by almost 3/4 of the game (I just started stage 4)?
