Thanks! I also thought of an idea of how lag might work: The number of hex addresses that are changed during a frame of lag would determine how much lag there would be later on. I think I could use this to help reduce lag in the came! :D Thanks everyone! I never would have thought of this without you all!! :)

Glitchman, did this submission should have more glitch!??
Sorry for not including "more glitch" to it (which I will)! ;) I told you guys this was before I acquired my new username so I didn't have any cool username to live up to at the time. I WILL add more glitchiness and side-effects to this game in my new and improved run. :D Being the encouraging TASer I am, I will always find more ways to make this faster!!! :D

Hi! Thanks Baxter and finalfighter!! And don't worry I WILL do a good job optimizing the Super Arrow and weapon switches throughout the entire run through of this game, especially the Super Arrow top-to-bottom screen glitch!!! You all CAN count on me!! :D
Whelp, I dunno about you guys but I definitely believe in him.
Thanks! I also have a new update on my run: I saved 15 frames on Star Man's stage (from room 6 and up)!! I am on the boss now!!!

Hi everyone! I will make a TAS of Peter Pan & the Pirates: Captain Hook's Revenge!! I am so excited to do this!!! I found a few (although obscure) glitches in this game already!! I'm not sure if turning off the music reduces lag though because I still find lag in the game when I play it (I use lag counter for this!). :D Anyway I am so excited how this is going to come out!!! :D:D:D YAY! Also, the funny part about this: it's a poorly received game and AVGN hasn't reviewed it yet (although you can see it in the background of his YouTube channel)! :P

Okay. Now I know what you guys meant by "it was sloppy." But when you compare it to the other run but just ignore the fact it was outdated, it is actually a good run.

Thanks! :D BTW, I just finished playing Back to the Future and I got 211440!!! That's my new personal best!! :D:D:D I also have a question to ask: Should I abuse the teleportation glitch in Back to the Future (U+D/L+R)?

I would be interested into a duo run of those games.Hell, I am alway looking for something like that. All I need to prepare is a loop of AVGN's famous "ASS" and "FUUUUUCK" sound snippets, that I'll playback during the movie. :-)
Ha! Awesome! :) It's always good to see some more supporters for this two-games-for-one movie! :D Also, I like your sig! Contra Force DOES deserve a TAS! It may suffer from severe lag but it is an underrated game in my opinion (sorry if this is too off topic).

No really! I think this is going to be a great thing for the TASing community! :D I think you all mean that it's so ear-grating that it actually sounds good! ;) I listened to it and I enjoyed it! It's so stimulating! =D Oh, and nice image pirate_sephiroth! Keep them coming! :D

Since you're already TASing mm3,4,5 and 6 seperately, did you ever consider making an improvement to the megaman 3-6 quadrun?
Never thought of that! I will have to put that on my TODO list as well! :) Now I know that I have been made fun of for my theories on games ever since I came on here but I guarantee you all are going to love this!!! :D:D:D This will be the best multi-game TAS if not the best TAS ever!!!

Yes, that's right! I will do it together and synchronize the endings. Also, The 2 minute speedrun for Ghostbusters was for the Japanese version. I'll be using the U.S. version because it doesn't have the shortcut where you keep buying and selling Ghost Alarm to get $15,000. Plus it's the original, despite me using the Japanese version for my other movie. It's like in the NES Mega Man quad run where they used the U.S. version of Mega Man 3 instead of the Japanese counterpart. I haven't started it yet but I promise you all it will be the biggest and best multi-game TAS EVER!!! :D In fact, I can synchronize the entire movie so that it really does look like one TAS meant for BOTH games! :D Edit: (1/6/2010) Okay, just finished the tests! I think that I might have to play Ghostbusters through more than once. I played my movie (.fm2) of Back to the Future while having another FCEUX window open and I was playing Ghostbusters. Basically I had two FCEUX files open, one for my TAS of Back to the Future and the other for Ghostbusters. I finished Ghostbusters twice (I used turbo A for that stairwell!) in a row and Back to the Future just finished the 2nd to last street stage. Wow! Regardless, I think that those two games sound great together and it's like two great songs playing at the same time equals one great song!!! I have to say the sound quality is great!! I think that this movie will definitely please the audience! I WILL find many ways to make this entertaining even if it means having to beat Ghostbusters more than once in the making of this movie!!

I think I will make a dual TAS of Ghostbusters (U) and Back to the Future (U). Since they're both movie-based games, have overhead views, and so much more in common I thought I might do these games! Now I understand that some people might not think this would be a good idea at first but they are a fantastic choice of games to play at the same time when you think about it! :)

You know, I agree with what all of you all said! Just because a TAS doesn't look faster than its predecessor doesn't mean that it actually isn't faster! Also, this could've been the first published run of 2010!

And for another record, why does converting it to .fm2 have anything to do with anything? O_o
Maybe they could have thought "You know, it's on a newer NES emulator. Why couldn't this TAS look better than it already does?"

I know...I don't get how it was sloppy either. :( I spent three whole months on this and this is what it gets. I knew what I was doing (except in some lag issues). Maybe I should've thought twice before using "convert to fm2" option in FCEUX 2.1.2-interim.

This run was pretty out of place and it did look sloppy at points. At the time I didn't have the lag counter so it was hard to tell whether something saved more time or not and where frames of lag were even though I had frame by frame motion but I could have skipped over that frame of lag and it could remain unnoticed. I did read the comments at the end of my movie summary. This could have qualified as being better but it didn't differ enough from the old run and it became blatantly obvious that time could be saved. There was too much pressure in whether I should submit my run or not. At least they enjoyed watching the movie. :)

Ooh...Okay I guess that wasn't a good enough improvement. :O I knew I should've submitted this sooner or improve the boss route. That's it!!! I'm definitely going all out on finding Mega Man glitches!! As Mega Man would say, "I'm going to defy the laws of physics!"

I don't mean to be rude in asking, but when should we be expecting a fully optimal run?
Sometime by this coming up summer! If not that, then by the following autumn/fall break! :)

I mean, you could just copy/paste the majority of this run into a new run that uses up to date tricks if you really wanted. But that's besides the point...
I'm not sure. There might be a chance that the movie would randomly desync due to frames of lag if it is copy/pasted. That's why I'm not big on that.

Still watching, but something caught my eye. In Ring Man's stage on the screen before the spring miniboss, you slide off the edge to drop onto that screen. Is it faster than jumping off in that situation?
Yes. I even compared it to normally jumping off and it is faster.

I thought that with all the pressure going on with me and this MM4 run I wanted this to be remembered because I put a lot of work into it. Sure this was before people discovered improvements that can be made on the old run like really dug into it but I wanted to kind of update the run because I had a feeling that the real improved run would take a while. The fact that new strategies have been discovered will trouble the decision of submitting the run even more. I think that this run will benefit the world of Mega Man 4 TASing because it opens the door to newer and better possibilities that can be made in not just saving time but keeping it entertaining while doing so. You all have to admit, I did make some fantastic improvements and discoveries by trying out different routes in stages. Also, keeping the weapon switches at a minimum is a good strategy too because you may realize that you didn't need to switch to that weapon/item when you could save just as much time (maybe more) keeping the weapon/item you already have equipped. This is one of the most crucial things I look for in Mega Man TASes.
