Awesome work so far, but why not use microstorage to upload the files? It's fast and an easier download than Megaupload. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php
I was familiar with Megaupload (and forgot the better site during the time I was uploading this) but I have been downloading WIPs from that dehacked site and it's very quick so I will use that in the future. Also Youtube Link is up now.

I took the liberty to encode this for you: http://rapidshare.com/files/144069230/warioland.avi Awesome stuff, I can't wait to see this completed :)
That's a good AVI rip there, I'll edit my main post. I'll put this on youtube with those key annotations (This is a TAS run, rerecords, etc) and add Youtube annotations about some parts of the run.

Completed the first 5 courses. VBM file http://www.megaupload.com/?d=BO566CNQ Avi file http://rapidshare.com/files/144069230/warioland.avi (thanks to Nineko) Youtube link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pHnJb2RRP30 Notes: Contains Entertainment/speed trades Some awesome Jet hat control. Insane way to manipulate the coins in the first half of course 4 I forgot to skip the Course message from 1 to 4 but I did in 5. I'll keep it since it's not such of a major entertainment improvement sort of thing. It was overlooked. Ignore the input that leads to the first level of Mt.Teapot I'm actually going back to Rice Beach to do: Course 3's hidden treasure and hidden exit which leads to Course 6.

Oh ok now that makes sense, good luck on your movie, I love Wario Land! Will you go for 100% treasures too? At least it would add some variety, otherwise the whole movie would be a continuous "fly with the flying cap"... You know what would be cool? Collect all the treasures AND enough coins to end exactly at 99999 without overflowing it :D
I'm going to get 100% treasures All exits including that hidden Rice Beach level. 99999 coins on the dot It might contain entertainment/speed tradeoffs like the Coin bonus game I find it boring going with the right bucket (it's faster than the left bucket) and with a variety it makes it more interesting at least. I'm not sure about the common enemies though they do give you a coin but hopefully the coins I get in the levels are enough for me to get, the autoscrolling levels I will pull of some crazy tricks. Edit I'm not going to use this trick it's useful for a glitch Any% and it doesn't use the Debug extra jump code (pause, press select 16 times). It's caused by pressing Up+Right+Down at the same time and it only works on a path that normally requires a right button input. AVI http://www.megaupload.com/?d=Y34G64EZ 2nd Edit This trick isn't useful to skip the second course of Parsley Woods because you'll need to release the water even when you are going to Syrup's Castle. Also I realised that you get 90000 coins (not 85000) from the 15 treasueres, that's easy enough really. 5 bosses, courses that has 2 exits with good amount of coins, the railway levels and the giant 100 coin levels shall be enough I hope. 3rd Edit: My first level WIP is up. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=Q672MTLL I can take critism. I would use the older WIPs but they are no longer downloadable. I'll post another WIP after Rice Beach has been completed. Then I got to make a list of levels that has good amount of coins so I don't have to do the crab hunting level as Bull Wario. 4th Edit: I've completed Course no. 03. Now here comes a tough part it is possible to get the secret exit without the flood effect after defeating the boss. However a 3rd visit would be required since the treasure is only available during the flood effect. Since a 3rd visit might be slower than a combined 2nd default visit. I'm going to do: Course 4, 5 then back to course 3 to get both treasure A and secret exit along with the pointless ccurse afterwards.

Wait, last time I checked, the bonus game is capped at 999 coins!
I'll reword it this basically I found 5 levels that after the bonus game I got each level at least over 800 coins. 800 x 5 = 4000 coins. Sorry I do get mixed up with most of my words :0.

Does that mean your actually running this, or are you just laying more ground work?
I possibly will do after completing this. Right now I'm just refreshing my memory on each level and stuff. I'll find out which levels gives out a good amount of coins which are worth using during the bonus game to recieve an high number. Up to the 3rd main world and I've found 5 levels that contain coins that can go up to over 4000 coins after bonus game: So far 1 level has an giant 100 coin. 1 level has those chickens that each one drops 3x 10 coins. 1 level has crab hunting get 91 coins after completing it. (it's really a filler level but I'll do it anyway to make it an 100% feel). 2 levels has boss battles and I can get 125 coins easily after the boss to achieve the 999 coin target. Stangely enough I've found a glitch that in Sherbert land you pick up an hedgehog enemy and it's hard to explain but basically what happened was that I threw it at the wall and by the time it hit the wall it got hit by lighting too which didn't destroy the hedgehog but did drop 10 coins, it's basically an enemy that can surive glitch you could repeat it as many times as you want.

The 99999 coin ending seems better as pute 100% feel. You'll get 90000 just from the 15 treausres. 300 coins from Course 40 and a target of 14699 coins from the other 39 courses. Some courses you have to re-enter by achieving hidden exits. One of the Rice beach courses is the pointless Crab hunting. It gives you 91 coins (101 - 10 from course exit). 91 x 8 (from bonus game) = 728 coins. You can get 125 coins as the minimum to achieve max 999 from a single course. What's the reccomended target to achieve good bonuses from the Coin minigame (70 minimum, 125 maximum)? I'll edit this post a couple of times roughly how many coins there are in each course. It's mainly best to get coins that are not from either the blocks nor enemies unless it's enemy betrayl abuse. Edit 1: In the Coin bonus minigame going to the: Left bucket: 32 frames Right bucket: 30 frames but some times is varies depending on the direction of Wario's face.. Right bucket, incorrect, back to centre: 258 frames Left bucket, incorrect, back to centre: 289/290 frames Right bucket, correct, back to centre: 314 frames Left bucket, correct back to centre: 318 frames Seems like the right bucket is the faster of the 2. Now I need to find a way of manipulating it during the game not before hand.

You just like to mention DS games don't ya?
I do mention other games.... basically I'm making the DS wishlist of good games to TAS around with. Since DS emulators are at the basic stage at this time. Me and DSG3002 are the only ones that can record DS games in great quality for SDA. With speedrunning experience and for me TAS experience (yes I did an ESWAT TAS run in late 2006 and I am not Neofix) I just thought some ideas of DS games to TAS when Re-recording and Frame Advance has been added. Basically I'm giving an headstart with the titles and talk about tough precision based tricks which could be used on the TAS run... before the special emulators exists.

The only 21st Centuary Mario handheld remake that seems cool to watch unlike: Super Mario Advance (SMA) 2: Added Luigi with different stats compare to Mario. SMA3: Added 6 new levels but down graded the sound, graphics and resolution. SMA4: Many bugfixes, loads of small level design changes and annoying voices. You start as Yoshi and you can only play as Mario after getting 8 Stars, get the Mario Key and then unlocking the Mario Door. There is a Out of Bounds based glitch that can enable you to complete the game with 50 stars. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oTQeMqUuVhE It's a really tough to perform in real time. TAS can use save state abuse and achieve this Out of Bounds in no time. Because it's 50 and not the standard 80 there should be a route on the fastest 50 stars but remember you can't get the stars from Rainbow Cruise, Tick Tock Clock, Toad nor the 2 from Mario Wing's to the Sky because they are blocked by the 50 star door.

A good bump because I've found a neat trick on Mission 4 (the Science Lab level) that the Published run didn't use. It's that waiting bit when you were on the floating platforms it's possible to skip this part entirely. AVI file http://www.megaupload.com/?d=DVRA7WMU Quality is not TASvideos published perfect and I think there is no sound as well because strangely enough my pc lacks a sound driver or the cables weren't connected properly.

(SDA) I am making a New Super Mario Bros 100% run segmented. I have made a good route too but it need some tweaks before I can make it comfirmed. The main difference for this are: Manipulating the Red ? Boxes and or Hammer Bros to: Traveling the least distance after a level has been completed and traveling to a level that is useful to pickup a rare power up (like Blue shell on Water levels and Mini Shroom on certain hidden exits. My SDA run won't be abusing the luck because that is quite difficult but I am going to use most of the Star Coin paths as save points and red mushroom houses to get either Blue Shell or Mini Shroom. Possible TAS tip: When using the Blue shell it is still possible to triple jump out of it and the speed seems to be faster than Shell sliding. It's basically Super Mario World's Jump abuse all over again but a bit harder when it comes to jumping and landing.

I know that there isn't any DS emulators with Re-record support but I can give you a few pointers on Zelda Phantom Hourglass which will become useful in the future. The annoying feature (even more for a TAS at times) is the dizziness condition caused by rolling or Spin attacking too many times. It's usually either 4 continous rolls or Spin attacks that makes Link dizzy. It mainly lose frames but it could save frames from damage boosting by a near by enemy, when this happens it should reset the roll/spin counter to 0. Using the Hammer or Grappling hook freezes the roll/spin counter@ For example: I did 3 rolls then I take my Hammer out I use it for 5 seconds then did another roll and Link gets dizzy. During Linebeck sailing segments you should spam the jump button it's notably faster for some reason. The drawing in a TAS will be odd because it's touch operated not D-pad/Analouge, maybe you should make a "special frame" that has the entire icon made and let the game do it as fast as possible. I tried drawing the line on the Map (on Linebeck's sea chart when making ship paths) from the bottom to the top of the screen and the feather doesn't catch up with the stylus so it has cap a max speed for drawing. If the re-record Emulator is made and doesn't have Reset support (like Mupen) don't worry there is a Save & Quit feature which can be useful for both Save Warping and resetting NPC ship positions. There is a save warp that is really useful for Joleane's second battle (as she is nearer to your ship after save & quit has been made). I know a bit on Weapon damage and Bosses HP as I'll list most of them on here Weapon Damage points (DP):[/ Simple strikes (Stab or slash) are 10 DP Jump attacks are 15 DP Spin attacks are 20 DP Bombs explosions are 30 DP. Bombchu deals the same damage as Bombs. Grapple hook: 10 DP Boomerang ? Arrows: (15 or 20 DP) Hammer ? (I think it's 30 DP) Super Hammer ? ( 2x stronger than Hammer probably 60 DP) [/u]Boss stats and tactics for TAS:[/u] Blaaz: 300Hp. Each cycle he warps out after reciving 100Hp of Damage. Cyclok: 300HP. Recovers after taking 6 hits from any weapon, since Bombs is the strongest weapon at this time, spam the weapon because it's possible to face it with only 2 cycles. Giant Water beast: 5 hits. Try and not let the boss use his attack twice in a row. Crayk: 7 Hits (doesn't matter how strong the weapon is it's always 7 hits) Joleane: 3 Hits, followed by chance. Luck manipulation is useful on this mini-boss Eox: Manipulate his arrows, they are easier to avoid, easier to hit his weak spots and takes longer to finish his attack. His second phase is easy too. He only takes 14 hits no matter what weapon is used. After 10 hits he tries to shake you off, use a bomb this gives you Temporary invincibility that will keep you on his head during the shake and deal the last 3 hits. 6 Eye fish boss: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sVqmwyG_Bag Very annoying boss. Manipulate the projectiles coming from him and a good time would be before his 2nd near unavoidable charge attack. Dongorongo: 1st Phase: Make sure he is near to Link's side to deliver bombchus quickly (probably quite cool to make a bombchu path before he is down to shock the players thinking he's psychic). Do not let the boss use his charge attack he becomes invincible and charges you. 2nd Phase: Don't get the bomb flower you don't get enough time to chuck it in his mouth. Use bombs on his weak spot and manipulate Bomb drops from the minions coming from the ground. Gleeok: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yxe0z7NXREY Very linear battle. Entertain it by doing world record damage boosts in a Zelda Game. 2nd Phase: Make sure that the bosses don't try to bite you too much. It's usually 1 chomp and then a charging beam attack. When the boss is vunerable use: Bomb (set it before you take it down), Hammer hit then Super hammer hit. This should defeat them instantly but there is a bug that prevents you to clear the boss in under 3 tidal waves. They accept death after the 3rd tidal wave. Joleane Round 2: It's possible to make her charge attack all of the time. You can do a neat trick which is to use the boomerang around Link which is possible to hit her back during the Charge strike. It's 3 hits then a Chance and then another hit. Bellum: The 1st Bellum Battle in the pool. 150 HP. 55HP he (usually) reacts and goes away, best damaging way is 3 jumps, Spin = 65 But I do 5 jumps on the first 2 and usually a double hit spin/ single hit spin + stab/slash. Manipulate this phase by keeping him near Link's side. Bellum Floor 1 5 eyes. No rotation attack in this one. Go around the room and shoot arrows. These eyes don't close. 1st Bellum Battle in pool. second time Again 150 hp it's possible that Bellum doesn't go away. Bellum Floor 1 again. After 3 out of 5 eyes destroyed It rotates anti-clockwise 2 tiles per turn twice. Bellum Floor 2 : After destroying every 2 eyes: It rotates anti-clockwise 2 tiles per turn. Up to 4 turns. (expect this to happen again after the 4th eye has gone). 1st Bellum Time Freeze Number of Normal attacks. 400 HP. (20 Spins). Do a double hit spin 3 times then constantly perform jump attacks and in the last 30 Phantom freeze time seconds. perform another double hit spin. Jump attacks doesn't change the spin counter so it's best to perform the 4th double hit spin last. The second boss battle I can't really tell much about this one, it's unique and all I can say is that you can defeat the boss quicker if you destroy one side of the ship in the first visit (I.e. Right then Left -- destroy all of the left side ones then finish off the right ones). Manipulate the boss' attacks and get every shot on each eye. Final Bellum Eye weak spot: 500HP. 3 cycles = At least over 165 DP per cycle!! Sounds hard but not really, activate the time freeze when the eye is opened and perform 3 double spin hits = 120 DP so far, then continue performing Jump attacks until you have 30 freeze time seconds to perform the last double hit spin. That amount can be around over 200 DP. After dealing around 350-400+ of Damage he usually performs a spin attack, the quickest way to end is to avoid it and not counter it by spinning back. It's possible that he doesn't so make sure in the TAS he doesn't use the great spin attack.
