I find it easiest to login using this form: http://tasvideos.org/Login.html
That's the link I'm been trying to login from but from the very top part of the page, I type in my Username press enter but the page refreshes. The blue Login text does change to Password but due to the page refreshing it goes back to the start. Pressing stop on the internet explorer as soon you see password doesn't help either. Thanks Baxter for telling me about the Zip file before submitting.

I just finished a full TAS run of a game and right now I'm on the submission process, the problem is that I try to log in outside the TASvideo Forum but it doesn't do anything when the page loads up, I go to the Submit movie link but that doesn't do anything. I'm a bit confused on what I am doing wrong, as it is my first submission to the site at this time. I've already planned out the submissoin text on Microsoft word so it will be a matter of copy and pasting onto it when it is done. (http://tasvideos.org/SubmitMovie.html)

We haven't got everything yet but here are some of the details. Hopefully someone in this topic who can read memory values can work out the rest. Mario running, jumping, triple jumping, etc - 48 speed (going left or right at max speed) Shell mario - running jump, etc - 48 speed (Similar to above but wearing a shell) Shell mario spinning - 44 speed. (When Mario hides inside the shell and moves left or right) Shell mario spinning and jumping - 44 speed (Jump when the shell is spinning). Horizontal Speed tier.
Rank A 1. *Star Mario (Running at max speed, stick his arms out) Rank B 2. Star Mario (Jumps at max speed "screwattack") 2. **Normal Mario (Running at max speed) 2. ***Normal Mario (Jumps at max speed) Rank C 5 Shell Mario (Spinning in his shell) 5 Star Shell Mario (Spinning in his shell with the star power up) 5 Shell Mario (A jump whilst spinning at the same time) *Mario doesn't get extra speed from the star when shell spinning, ** Running in max speed without the star only applies to, Small, Super, Fire and possibly Mini forms, Shell form does not let Mario/Luigi stick their arms out. *** Non-shell power ups are much easier to perform Triples jumps in real time mainly because it doesn't get interrupted to do something else like the Blue Shell does. The only way to get Shell Mario's speed to be in Rank B is to keep on jumping before Mario starts to shell spin.

Ah I see. I'm not regretting for playing as Luigi on the SDA 100% run mainly because the cornerboost isn't really worth it. But thanks for the response and information. What's also weird is that Luigi is naturally taller than Mario but only just and it has made an effect on a TAS run. I will double check that when I play multiplayer (collecting stars game) and compare both Small Mario & Luigi and then Super Mario and Luigi.

http://www.archive.org/download/2009-10-05-SDA_Speed_Runs/NewSuperMarioBros_100p_22620_part33.mp4 Unless I'm mistaken Luigi had to do a corner boost to get the 2nd star coin of 6-2 early. If I did do an 100% TAS, I would start over (not continuing my test) because UltimateDarius found a better strat on 1-1 and a better place to get a mushroom. Knowing how the Red ? Blocks and Hammer Bros are co-ordinate is seriously vital in both speed runs. It's mainly because of the delays of movement after clearing a course. You can have 0 delays whatsoever but it requires a plumber from one side of the World map while the objects are on the other side. If they were nearby the delay varies on where they go. For example, after unlocking 2-4 secret exit for 2-6. The object can take the secret route and it takes more than a few seconds to control the plumber again. Watch segment 37 to see a good example of delays from the objects after completing the level.

Don't worry I know a solution of the desynch issue. After I deleted the sav file from my harddrive it was back to synch. But i will have to do it again because you can skip the 'all of the events of the game are fictional' message, I also hope that it would manipulate luck a bit bettter too.

That might be because of SSE. Have you tried the official 'nosse' binary? If that allows you to boot up desmume, that's the cause of issue.
I couldn't find the 'nosse' binary for 9.4+, do you know where the exact location is? I'm having a desync issue on GTA Chinatown Wars somewhere after/during the first cutscene.

Unless I'm mistaken, I can see an improvement to the Sonic And Tails Low% Run. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DrRLzXdz6L8 At 0:17 it shows how to clear Launch Base Act 1 in 0:44. It doesn't use the elevator bug but it uses the 2P Tails and off camera abuse to the ground spikes underneath the giant Cylinder. Another advantage to this strat is that Tails will be with Sonic (and can be controlled) right before the Act 1 Boss fight. I didn't discover this glitch, I was interested with the huge bug and glitch collection from ORKAL's Youtube channel and thought it would be good to post it here.

Pretty cool, was it done with Record from Savestate or did you do a movie from scratch and gone through the Cutscene and Rabbit key in the movie file (just wondering since if they did do Start from Savestate I would be making some TAS ILs by now). I can only see 1 notable improvement, unless it was to manipulate the Chain Chomp: At 0:16 of the video, it's usually faster to press B and Yoshi does a quick climb. I also did that route in my SDA run because going up on the ramp and LJing to the Chain Chomp caused problems such as an unfortunate hit when performing the 3rd Ground Pound.

How do you skip the Grunts?
From the SDA Strategy Wiki 1.Avoiding Double Battles: If you only have one Pokemon on your team who is not KOed, all of the sets of double trainers will not battle you. This, however, does not apply to two seperate trainers who see you at the same time. The exception to this rule is atop the Pillar right before the Legendary, the two Galactic Grunts will force you away if you do not have a double partner. There's some battles that will have 2 Grunts next to each other.

There's one interesting idea I was thinking about but this something a TAS run has never done before. Heracross can be caught from level 5 to level 15 and knows Guts or Swarm as an ability. The base attack is better than Machoke's and Speed is notably better (possibly less manipulation against the very slow Pkmn). The only problem is that you'll need to use Honey on a orange tree and you need to wait for a day to go pass. Basically: * Get the honey * Put it on a tree * Save the game ^ Then find a way to get to the DS menu and change the clock. (or day in this case). * Load the game (via DS menu, not the application emulation window) * You'll be able to capture a Wild Heracross at level 15 (at the most). The level up movepool is a bit better than R/S/E and Machop's family tree. Move Tutor: Night Slash Start: Horn Attack Level 13: Aerial Ace Level 19: Brick Break (reliable STAB move) Level 31: Take Down Level 37: Close Combat (powerful but if Guts Brick Break is decent, may avoid this). Level 55: Megahorn If there is an Facade TM in the main run, it's a good move to replace Horn Attack, Shadow Claw is a nice alternate to hit Bronzor/Zong and the Poison Bats hard. If UltimateDarius's strat is used, Turtwig can manipulate Quick Claw abuses which is first obtained in Jubilife and then abuse Critical hits to the max against Roark (with either Turtwig or a Machop that's ends up being traded for an Abra).

Well this problem hasn't been fully solved yet:
Can you explain how to use the microphone to blow out the candles at Summit Path? I have the microphone key hotkeyed to M button and i'm standing right in front of the candle and pressing M but nothing's happening. The microphone worked when i needed to shout out to the fortune teller.
And the second ship part you need to buy that requires a proper word spoken into the mic.

I think there is an option from the Emulator that you can set it to Sleep mode (which causes the Crest icon to be on your Map).

Tested out AVI recording on New Super Mario Bros and the intro cutscene has no emulation lag. The overworld map still has it though but it feels faster than the 9.2 version.

Go ahead we are not stopping you :). Sub 35 minutes of input is possible, try and post some samples and I can help you out on certain points. When you get used to TASing keep the rest of the project hidden/secret to the forums until submitting the run.

The entertainment value on the GBA might increased in content (more levels) but more likely to be decreased with inferior graphics, resolution and sound. Not to forget that Yoshi has his tradmark grunts ('hap', 'hop', 'hey ha') which will be annoying after 100 minutes of gameplay.

Wow this is going in the history books. The most controversial day of submitting TAS runs. A free run, a single star run and now a stolen run.

The submission is so useless that seeing this image of Fat Mario saying "no" is more entertaining to watch. Edit: That's mainly my first reaction but all you need to do is read the guidelines and the important rules of making a Tool Assisted Speed Run. You're obviously new to making runs, even though Super Mario 64 is very popular it isn't easy to start mainly because of the popular tricks like Backward Long jump. A simplier 2D game like Super Mario Bros should give you an idea how TASing a game works.

The Piplup Family would have an easier time speed running the game on Platinum because the enemies have slightly higher EXP and Piplup gets taught BubbleBeam earlier but Bide later.
grass knot for fighting and water respectivly
Grass Knot doesn't deal double damage to fighting types, but it's good against Water Absorb Quagsire and Gyarados (base power will be 120). Chimchar family would be handy if they get Hidden Power Electric & Grass Knot to defeat Crasher's team

I was planning to do a New Super Mario Bros speed run since June 2008 but unfortunately my main PC went down so I couldn't encode my runs from the camera's Firewire cable. I took it to repairs and had to wait for 3 months for the PC to be fixed. When it got fixed for some odd reason the Firewire cable wouldn't even work :(. So I thought of making an TAS run and Wario Land SML 3 seems like a good choice, it was easy to work out: *The fastest speed (Jet Dash) *The 100% run can be entertaining. *The Any% run be done in under 35 minutes :) A few days after the WIP posted on the Pirate Ship, the PC went down again and I lost motivation on carrying this on. I've found out in Feburary that the processor was burnt out and added a new one in. So in December 08 I got a HDD DVD Recorder and I had the most brilliant idea ever... connecting the camera's AV cables and record it off from the TV and that's how I got the world record on SM64DS. And for NSMB well.... ever since the DS is now TASable I thought that making an 100% run will be a good reference and guide when someone (other than me) makes a 100% TAS run. The Any% run on Wario Land is easier than making an 100% so who knows it could be done very quickly.

No :( I've been busy making an speed run (unassisted) on New Super Mario Bros 100%. At this rate the current 100% Wario Land run can be improved and doesn't have a reason to be submitted. I might finish it off and use it as reference for future Wario Land TASes (that's if I get time to finish it off).

For bosses, Frame War wise: Which weakness on Metroid Prime 1 deals the most damage the fastest. Ice Spreader (White), Charged Plasmas (Red), Super Missles (Yellow), Charged Waves or Wave buster (Purple). Super Missiles & Ice Spreader deals massive damage and doesn't comsume a lot of missiles like the other 2 beam combos does (Wave & Plasma). The Plasma and Wave beams adds a little extra damage after each direct charged shot. The WR current Any% run has 20 missles and do we even get the Ice Spreader (I haven't watched the whole run)? And I'll laugh if the Wii Version of Metroid Prime's Easy mode beats it in under an hour.

Yeah, TASers should now use Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo, which features: A juggle system (combo enemies in the air but it's quite limited, therefore making the game not broken). Super Moves And i some tweaked moves like Ryu's Air Med Punch is now an upper fist used to juggle. I don't really know the difference used in the Hyper 15th Anniversary edition other than changing styles like 'Champion' Sagat vs 'Super T' Balrog.

Thanks :). I'm happy now that I haven't submitted this immediately. Maybe Star Trip with missions branch on Hardest 'playaround' style would be cool to watch.

Bah. I could get a faster time by scribbling.
And luck from the blocks too (the ones you have at the start and the ones later on). Salamoj told me it's possible to get an even faster time. I heard the fastest time is 7 seconds flat but I need to know if there is a site that hold these high scores.
At the end of any Star Trip, preferably at the hardest difficulty getting the best ending possible.
There's over 10 endings and one of them was some giant fork. The credits has gameplay too so I'll play that one too if the credits are unskippable.
