I created this forum account a while back. It's the nickname I've usually gone by, but I thought my other more recent screenname (which I commonly use as well) is a little more unique and less likely to be used by other speedrunners.
I mean...
It's all part of my complicated and nefarious plot.

Yes, exactly. I jump when it's feasible to do so without worrying about the landing delay. If I can't get enough distance (or if the ceiling is too low) I just run.
Edit: Also, there's a point in which you run out of momentum from a jump and just drop straight down. I try to avoid those.
Most of the slowdowns were to avoid getting hit and tried as I might, it was difficult to do so without stopping in some way. Unless there's a slowdown I made that didn't require that, that I didn't notice. And yes, I guess the Vulture battle could have been done a bit better. He's a difficult opponent.
Thanks for the critique.

Unfortunately, it's not just a boss I would have to re-record. It's a boss, a miniboss, and two very difficult passages where I narrowly avoid getting hurt (and both places I've had to rerecord 20+ times in order to just barely avoid getting hit)
If I was to hex edit the movie, is there any way of telling exactly where the save state points?

Okay, I have a save state at the beginning of a level. If I play back the movie starting from that save state, everything happens perfectly. If I play the movie back from the very beginning of the game, then it goes out of sync after the first miniboss in that same level (a minute or two later than that save state). Why does it go out of sync in the full video and not starting from the save state?
Is there any way to fix this? I went to a LOT of trouble recording some stuff that happens at the end of the level (at least one trick I haven't seen done in other speedruns) and I don't even know if it will be possible to redo some of it. Either way, rerecording all that would be a collosal pain. What can I do?

I've been recording a speedrun and did plenty of cool tricks and made it to the fifth level in one night of recording.
When I played it back the next day, it stopped syncing in the middle of level 2. Three levels of awesomeness gone!
I found out what the problem is. I had been accidentally recording in Snes9x 1.43 instead of 1.43+ (I have both versions. I guess I opened the wrong one) so when I played it back in 1.43+ it went out of sync.
I guess my question is, does the site accept submissions from 1.43 that don't sync in 1.43+? If not, I have a lot of work to do over. :/
