Hmm.. If someone has a genji glove and offer ring (is that right? Haven't played the game in a couple of years.) Can Gogo mimic those 8 hits or will he just do one single hit? Would probably take some time to get Gogo though. And by that time, maby you've already finished the game? Anyways.. How is it going? Would be nice to see some more updates. :)

Ok. I have watched the run now. Some parts could be more effective. Such as the use of more bombs in some places. Buy more of em'. Could allso buy a peking duck to use in the wood house to save some more time since you take quite some damage. Only if needed though. I haven't checked this much my self. Furthermore.. The snowman boss can be beaten quicker if you don't jump as much I think. Just walk around on the floor and aim high. Use bombs to clear the room a bit if there are too many smaller snowmans shooting carrots at you. Will the fireweapon really beat the face in the wood house faster than boubles, or maby using the regular weapon will be faster? In the castle where those possessed Ghost busters are, I think you can only hit them from behind. How ever the fire weapon should be dealing good damage to them. Allso those gigant plants you spend alot of time killing instead of takeing damage and walk straight thru them. For the reaper I don't know.. I think I have allways used the regular weapon on him. If I remember correctly it's possible to destroy his sickles. Oh.. And at the first boss you can crawl on the ground and avoid those scale sickles instead of jumping and shooting at them. If it becomes too much, use a bomb to clear the room a bit. Other than that it's a pretty good run. I think you should finnish it.

Ok. I have begun making this one. Any tips or hints are appreciated. The first try is not perfect. But this is my very first speed run test. I play though Home sweet home in just some minutes. Looks kinda good. Just some minor things I need to fix.

I'm not handy with making stuff on my own. I'm not good at programming, I'm not good at HTML. I manage to do stuff with it. But I'm not good at it. But if anyone wanna help out, I'd be delightful. The FTP part is no problem though. But I suppose it would be fun to generate some statics for the HTTP thing.

Well.. I still have a problem with obsolete movies. I always forget to delete obsolete versions. So now I have a couple of gigabytes with movies which I don't know if they are new or obsolete. Thats why I thought it would be better to start a new system. It's never too late to do that. We could to it by a scheme saying <Date released, Game name, Version number, author> or something like that. For the FTP/Http etc. Will that be put on the site as an official mirror? Because then I would very much like to ask for someone to upload that movie the same time as it get posted on the site, or as soon as the encoding is done. So that the mirror is up to date the same hour the official site posts. Otherwise poeple could get cranky saying "Hey! This shit is not up to date. What a rip-off". I want some automated system. Allso.. I was thinking of keeping obsolete files, but in a subdir or something like that. Most recent files will be in a folder called "New runs" or something like that. Older files (not obsolete) would be stored in a separate folder. And last but not least, obsolete files. I was thinking of having "New files" for a month before they go into the archive. Could be discussed.

Not sure if this might be the wrong thread. But it was mentioned earlier in this topic. About version numbers on movies. When makers of the movies makes their runs, they will make it their version number, ie. Zurreco's Mega man speed run V3. If someone else wants to compete it can be rather confusing making it Bisqwit's Mega man speed run V1. In my oppinion it would be better if there was an offisial version number set by someone who's administrating all of this. Making the last mentioned run Mega man speed run V4 - By Bisqwit or something like that. Or atleast something more significant what file is latest. Many files do circulate on DC and Emule etc. Could be fun to clear out some parts. Allso.. To help out more, I'm ready to set up an official FTP site were poeple could download without Torrent. There are probably split thoughts about this "Yeah, but we need more seeders on torrent". Sure. But I know a whole lot of people who would never even install torrent. Maby they want but they can't for some reason. It still would be avalible in a second way to them. I could allso host on Emule (E-Donkey network) or HTTP). Making some sort of download mirror. Sure, the speed would be very limited. Not capped, but limmited because of heavy load. But it's an alternate way. What do you guys and gals think of it?

I am talking about Ghost busters for Genesis. I think that game is pretty funny. And it's alot better than the one(s) for nes.

Hehe.. I hated that game so much when I was a kid. I remember it was kinda difficult. First levels were kinda easy though. It makes it even more fun to see a run on it though, just to see someone put up with such an annoying game. Can't wait to see it. :)

Hamm - What was the other game you wanted to see? :) Boco - Well.. Just setting up some HTML with a shitload of pictures will do I suppose? Otherwise I'm sure any other language will do. HTML ain't that good when it comes to advanced stuff. But PHP should do it for sure. To bad I can't program PHP though. Otherwise I could help you.

Yeah. But if I remember correctly there can be a one hit kill on the last boss. Or atleast to get to his last shape directly.

Even people with DSL or cable or BBB or what ever they have. Some people need to pay per MB! Like New Zeeland. I'm from Sweden so I don't bother much. We're pretty spoiled when it comes to fast internet and cheap solutions. Sure. Some better quality would be good to see. But I can understand that they wanna keep the sizes down a bit.

Angerfist - Have you noticed the speed in the Sonic games? The filesize has to be larger as you need to change alot more graphics faster in that game. The Zelda games aren't that fast or doesn't contain alot of moving objects at the same time. You want to keep the sizes down so that it will be a comfortable download. Not everybody have great connections. Some people are even on regular 56k modems! If you had made the sonic movie smaller you would only see chunks of colors moving around in a big blur. The Zelda AVI is good enough to watch. I mean.. 150Mb for ~1hour movie. This is not a DVD-rip site. We watch speed runs. And if you want better quality you could always go ahead and download the emulator movies. That will give you full quality and alot smaller filesizes!

Oh.. In the guide posted earlier in this thread.. Actually I repost the link here: http://db.gamefaqs.com/console/snes/file/simcity_b.txt The guy is talking about a donut shape but minimalized. He builds residentials and then buldoze some of it. Then he places new residentials and do the work all over again. My question here is.. Does this method equal a regular strategy? I mean.. Can you fit the same ammount of people in the buldozed houses as you can in a regular house? Will these houses be able to change into tops as well?

Yeah, you can turn the game speed up. It's in the options. Press X to get unhide the tool-bar if you don't have it visible. See the icon that looks like a running man? Press that icon and you will get to choose a couple of diffrent speeds.

About the second last palace.. When you turn into a fairy to fly over that gigant heap of lave. Why do you wait so close to the lava before you use the magic instead of using it directly? To me it seems unlogical that it would save frames to go vertical instead of horizontal. Woulden't it save some frames if you executed the spell earlier in the room? I'm a bit drunk while writing this but I think you guys will know what I mean. Doesn't seem time saving at all to me. Other than that it's a great run! I really love how you deal with the bosses.

Well.. You could turn the game speed up to max and then use slower frames. Then it woulden't be that bad. :D If I knew how to get a Megapolis I would have tried to do this game. Might give it a try on the scenarios. Got no work right now so I got some spare time perhaps. My knowledge is to bad about the game though. I know about the Time stop cheat and about the money cheat. But it woulden't be any fun to use em' anyways. I'm don't promise anything though. Still got some other projects to be done. But as I said.. I do got some spare time as well. :) Someone would need to help me on strats though.
