Voting Meh on this one. I don't really find the game entertaining at all, but it was a well executed TAS.

Seems good that anyone can make subtitles for their runs. What about something that also converts input files to subtitle files for files that are encoded on the site?

Um... Sticky.. Why can't you just download an emulator like everybody else?

Loved this movie, but would you not save time from lag frames if you killed more of those things climbing around in the sewers? Looks to me that lag can be improved in many places?

I have to vote no on this one I'm afraid. This is about as bad as my own WWF Royal Rumble submission for the SNES. :D I would love to see some hack and slash in this TAS. Hope you'll make a better version soon. Cheers!

I just watched someone play the game Rock band on Youtube. If we play with the thought that we have a good enough emulator to actually play/TAS this game, how could one actually nail the entire singing part in a TAS? I can't recall any emulator that has input for sound for example. I guess this could be programmed in some way right? Just input static tones that matches the notes in the game or something? In worst case, one could actually make an audio file and just sync it to the game, and then use "What-you-hear" in the recording settings in your computer. :) Not that it really would be much interest in seeing such a TAS I think, but just for the fact it self, and how to make it. :) Cheers.

Umm... Don't you mean 3400 frames ahead? If you are behind, then it's not good I suppose? Sorry for being picky, just want to make sure that I understand you correctly. If you're ahead though, then it's awesome. WOHO!!! :D

Really? I thought you had to spawn where ever you saved last time, since this is what normally happens? Cool then. So then it is proved? :)

Anyone still working on SoM? I just googled around for a while and found this: http://somedit.blogspot.com/2008/09/secret-of-mana-editor.html Might be interesting if the developer continues the project. I'm also still looking for that glitch I once told you guys about. I think it can be seen on page 8 in this topic. Anyways to re-write it just so you don't need to jump around and look for it. It was when playing on my PAL SNES, facing the ice country boss - Frost gigas, I died in battle against it and the screen switched to see the palace from the outside, and then the message "Shame" appeared on the screen. After that I was then was taken back into battle with Gigas. I am 100% sure that this happened, no matter what else people say. I still want to find info about this glitch / Easter egg. I will even try to find a way to dump my own cartridge to be sure of the actual version I have. This might take a while though. I'm not sure if it's possible to search for the message it self by using a hex table? http://datacrystal.org/wiki/Secret_of_Mana:TBL Maybe someone could help me out. I don't want to leave this question. I want answers! If it is bound to a specific rom version, which one would it be? How would one reproduce this thing in game? Is it possible to do it against other bosses as well? I think that frost gigas was near death when he managed to kill me, if that helps?

Um... First off... Shouldn't the three punch-out topics be merged? http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=537 http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1339 http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1170 Secondly, this is my real question, have either of you guys seen or heard about this before? (Thanks to Adon who told me about it): In an interview (found here: http://us.wii.com/iwata_asks/punchout/vol1_page4.jsp) one of the designers tell about an Easter egg when fighting Bald Bull. When Bald Bull is doing his super-attack, the camera man in the bottom right corner of the ring side makes a flash with his camera when you should hit the punch button to make Bald Bull get knocked out. If you want to check it out, the small flash appears between 1:49 and 1:50 into this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U_iVHVGqMIU According to the designer it was a hidden thing for 22 years. :) Just thought that I should share it with you guys. Wonder how many secrets like this there are in old games out there? Maybe we should start a topic about that separately? Cheers!
