The blue room starting at ~24270 frames, is it really faster to fall through the floor instead of just walking to the right?

I was wondering if it would be possible to make a separate output of the OSD and bake it as a separate track in the final video encode somehow. Would be sweet if you could choose to turn on frames, button presses and stuff like that as an option in the final encode. Maybe this is the wrong thread to start of in, but I was mainly goofing around with Bizhawk when it crossed my mind. Would it be possible to output the frame counter/lag counter and keypresses as maybe an .srt (subtitle) file, or would there be a different approach?

I enjoyed this. Never seen the game before but the run looks OK.

Voting no on this. I think it's a cool game, and it can probably be made to look great. I think you (Bloodyspare) should make another try at it. Use more re-records to pull off better stunts. Not sure if 371 re-records is enough in this game to make it look cool. Cheat death - I.e. Play around closer to the enemies, jam your selves into the walls (or make it look like), dodge bullets on the very last frame possible. Don't make it obvious that you miss shots. I don't mind if you want to shoot 2000 shots into a wall or if you want to syncronize your shooting with the music and stuff like that. But when you obviously miss an enemy it just looks sloppy. Right now this TAS only looks like a speedrun with a turbo rate on the fire button. Maybe move around your ship in a pattern to create a message or something like this. Also, this game allows two players to play at one time. Maybe you should consider to aim for the secondary goal/feature of one player controls two ships? There is plenty room for improvements, and as of that I will cast a vote of NO. Keep up the hard work, and don't give up. Post WIP's in the NES-thread early on to get feedback on what to do, and not to do. Cheers!

Thats interesting. I will have to try that some day. Would need to dump the picture and sound separatly and then just bake them together then.

I've got the exact same problem, and I even posted that on WineHQ for each Gens version I tried.
I’ve found out that unchecking „add sound to avi” solves the problem with the video dump for some reason. So, if you feel comfortable with no sound, you can make avis this way…

I was annoyed by the select level screen which appeared all the time. It took more time to selec the stages than the gameplay it self. Not really, but there were to many interruptions I think. Going for no on this one. Sorry. Poor choice of game imo.

I'm with Mothrayas here. Don't see the reason for cheating, besides maybe skipping monotonous game play. Still... If one was to make a full run of the game it would not be a long run anyway. I estimate that a level takes around 400 frames to clear, and there are 40 levels. Would make a full run between 4-5 minutes then. Also add in around 300 frames between each level and we're looking at around 7-8 minutes in total. Might be some more delays here and there, but I think we can watch through a ~10min run of this game without dying of boredome. So until further explained to why this cheat is used to skip levels, my vote is pending towards NO.

I'd still watch a run of it, but I wonder if it would be entertaining to the end to skip as much as possible by just walking and evading enemies? Did you have any plans there Prion?

Found some optimizers in level 2-1. Took away 142 frames. Here's the updated GMV http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1229875521/Highness-Diman-RandomPie_IV-Going_Ape_Shit%20TAS.gmv

Umm.. How exact are those hitboxes? Seems to be quite a bit off when crawling under Stark's machine (level 1 boss) for example.

I'll vote Meh on the game, but yes on the execution. Really it is a poor game I think. :)

Are you sure it isn't because of your keyboard layout? I can't recall that I ever had a problem with with that key combination. Try to put A on a different key or something and try again. Some keys are not able to be pressed together some times. Reconfigure and try again.

Not entertaining enough I'm afraid. Going for a no-vote on this one. I think you could do the count-out thing for first half of the game perhaps, and maybe pin them for the second part. That way it would be more varied and more interesting. Hopefully we'll see a second submission from you. I love to play this game my self. Pretty funny.

Um... What about "Freak City", or "Freakopolis", or maybe a Swedish tone to it such as "Freaksta" (Which is freakin' close to the real "Fryksta" in Sweden)?

Oh, yeah. Sorry for that. Forgot to post an update. I am still having some problems with some random factors when walking between two rooms. Lost some frames, and I really want to go on par on this matter since otherwise it would sort of be a weird situation. I'm currently looking through an old hard drive to check on my previous V2.5 run to see how I did some of the rooms in order to look for improvements. It would annoy me to release something where I know improvements could be an easy finding. So I'm trying my best to frame optimize as much as possible. Thanks for your patience :)

I knew that this would create a bit of discussion. I don't give a damn about donating money perhaps, but I think it is a good way to tell about Joseph Kony and raise a bit of awareness. There are a lot of bad people in the world and it would be nice to put some more attention so that the world can open their eyes on this matter. Even if Invisible children as an organization is corrupted or whatever, they have already provided a bit of info about this warlord. How many of you guys knew about Kony before this went viral? Furthermore I don't have anything to do with Invisible Children more than the fact that I've pasted the link in a couple of places, which is not a bad thing I think. One should always research before they give money to charity of course, and it is up to every single person to do so. I'm glad that there is a debate, and that people wants to bring justice.
