There are other badges available, though, that take advantage of low health. Close Call is available almost right away, and makes enemies miss when you're low health. I think it stacks with Pretty Lucky, too. You may be right about it, though, since it is a pretty heavy detour. Other effects increase power pretty nicely, so I think it may just be a matter of experimentation.

Isn't there a guy in the game that lets you permanently trade your HP for BP or FP? Chet Rippo, I think it was. It's possible to put yourself so that your maximum health is 5 HP, making the badges like Power Rush constantly active. You could do this and manipulate the other badges that have effects when you're at low health, and you'd be practically untouchable. With Bow and all the badges (and maybe a Boo's Sheet here and there), you'd never die. Period.

It would be cool to create classic re-enactments in a game like this, then in the encoded video file, put in original commentary. That would be fun to watch.

Is the microstorage fileserver down? I can't seem to get the WIP. Your previous WIP looks excellent, by the way.

If you bother to get it, the Flying Armor soul cancels it if held when you land. Too bad it gets skipped, if I remember correctly.

Looks great. Very entertaining, and a great playthrough of a classic game. :D

I'm having some wierd problem with this. Without a movie, it plays relatively normally, but when I play the WIP, the screen stays black for the entirety of the movie. Don't know why. The plugins are the same except for the controller plugin. Anyone got any hints on what could be wrong?

I remember beating Mammon with 41 Earth and enough Water to get the magic drain. Just go up to him and keep beating on him. I say 41 Earth because (without manipulation), the shield almost never lasts 3 turns. Keep in mind, that's: 0: Shield 1: Smack 2: Smack 3: Reshield; Lather, rinse, repeat. At 40 Earth, I only rarely got the shield for 3 turns, usually having it last only 2, whereas 41 Earth almost guaranteed 3 turns. The only spell that would really do better than constant melee would be Avalanche, but that needs some luck manipulation, and it isn't very effective in fights where there aren't lots of targets, or a really big target (like Mammon). 50 water isn't necessary at all, but it helps to get points in water almost immediately. You have my full support on this game. It's really long, and seeing it completed quickly would be like watching porn... Almost seriously there. o_O

I care, too. I just haven't been around for the past 2 months. Boot camp was... an experience, definitely. Anyway, the WIP looks great. Awesome job on that, especially being faster than the any% and all. Keep up the great work, Hal, I expect greatness out of you. :P

Is this going to become another shouting match? The game looks and feels unprofessional, inconsistent, and overhyped. I'm sorry, funguy10, but if people don't want to play it or TAS it, then there's nothing you can do. :\

Everyone just needs to stop. This entire conversation has gotten out of hand. It seems to me multiple people are abusing their powers here; what's worse is that people are taking sides. This behavior is not conducive to teamwork at all. After all, if we all choose sides, then how will we be able to work together on projects again? All ego and reasoning aside--*EDIT* I need to look at my facts again. Now, I could propose something simple and fair to prevent something like this from happening again, but I'll pass for now. It's not my place, and I do not want to encroach on someone else's territory.

That's pretty interesting. If their timeline is right (before Twilight Princess, give or take), then they have Twilight Princess in the right spot. If you knew some of the details, then you'd see how it fits.

I've only played a couple levels, but it's got some pretty drawn-out puzzles in just the first areas. I can see how it lives up to its name. I would enjoy seeing a TAS of this. :)

It doesn't matter; it's just a game. If people find more pleasure out of playing Super Challenge World compared to TSRP2, it doesn't matter. I wouldn't keep pushing it, though, or you might push it to the point of harassment.

Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing an original song or two stuffed in there, if someone can find the right program. >_>

I've got this game for my Genesis. A little glitchy with sprites, but still fun. I HATED the first chase level... always ended up using the level skip. The Cyberdyne level would be awesome to see TAS'd though, especially since your special becomes a shotgun once you go into the past. "Perfect" bonuses would be great, and we'd all hope for as little damage taken as possible, unless there really is a way that taking damage saves time. O_o

It does, I remember quite well. It was a blast to play, if not a bit tough to avoid damage. Two players in this game would be awesome, but you'd have to be a bit cheap with some moves at times. Abuse of helpers and cheap tricks will win the day, especially with two players. Good luck, I enjoyed this game so much when I was a kid. It was probably my favorite out of the series.

I don't personally see this bug being exploited, unless someone took the time to figure out what it does. If a file was corrupted in just the right way (meaning a series of recorded attempts made), then I could see it... but doubtful. The double-attack bug, however, is easily usable in many situations. I can see it being used a lot. There are quite a few fights where you have to cast Reflect (or the like), though most aren't in the main game. I can see someone taking a side-trip for Bahamut, though getting past the Behemoths would be pretty tough. I actually got the bug to work once where Tellah used Osmose and Firaga right next to each other. It was fun. :) Whatever happens, good luck with the run. I expect great things out of you, Phil, and a game of this quality deserves perfection. :^D EDIT: Yang + Haste = wtfdeadmonsters. Yang is FAST. Haste gives him 4 attacks or so to every 1 from Cecil.

If you're doing a REAL 100% run, why not use the passwords to open up the special secrets? The special eggs and the ice key that most players have NO clue how to get to, if they even know they exist. That's a good way to open some eyes. Might take a while, though, to collect them all.

My friend found a glitch with that, managed to get it to do that on its own and got a TOTAL low time of 0'00" on ALL of Target Test and Platform Boarding. Realtime, too. It was awesome.

Well, I was going to say that I don't believe the herbs count towards the 100%, and I really did want to see a 100% jewels run. (It would save time with the menu anyway) Anyway, you said you were going to do your menu more efficiently? Could you give a quick example of that for me, please? Oh, and good luck. I know how frustrating it is to start from scratch (not on TASes, but in general >_>), so take your time and get it right. :P

Personally, I think you should work on finishing the 100%, especially since it looks so good right now. Anyway, now that you know how to manipulate the enemies better, Sand Fanger shouldn't be too much trouble to have to redo. :)

It's not possible to get Super Sonic in this game. It would be nice to see a full, finished run, though. The WIP/Test looked good, and I'm looking forward to the rest. :)
