I'd like to mention that Nintendo's Wiimote+Chuck looks like a really good middle ground. What's everyone's opinion on the mostly unfulfilled potential there?
Funny, but games like Bionic Commando 3D and Spiderman 3 haven't been released on the Wii, because its hardware is too weak to support the visuals. Perhaps the most approptiate application of Wii's controller setup was left untapped due to other — completely solvable in any case — pseudoreason. Ironic, huh? This is one of the most facepalm inducing things of the current generation's game distribution. That aside, my only real gripe with the wiimote is that MotionPlus's added precision was supposed to be there from the beginning. Had it been like that, the few Wii games that actually tried to take advantage of the controller could have been playable (Red Steel for an example). Wii just needs more good games that aren't remakes, ports, or sequels.
wat SM3 was most certainly on the Wii. Sadly, it was the strangely gimped PS2 version(Less content than Sm2. WTFucking Hell?!) with shitty tacked on controls, but the game exists.

A TAS of this game would be frigging amazing. I rented a DC and the DC version of this game once. It was quite good aside from the controls and the first boss(I like to think that whomever designed that boss has his own level of Hell waiting for him in the afterlife).

Well, it is a few centuries before he gets to go seal Dracula properly. It's only fair that he age a bit in the interim. Side note: Julius got screwed by age in Dawn of Sorrow. The game takes place one year after Aria of Sorrow, and Julius can't fly, can barely slide, can't run, and generally just mopes around complaining about how old he is. :\
Alucard is almost always better in that game .Almost always.

Nice run. I take it the backflips were the added aerial moves? I'm voting yes.

I don't know if the desyncs are because of ISO rather than BIN. I have a Mega Man X4 ISO and it desyncs often while recording (not while playing back, though some sound plugins (P.E.Ops in particular) may desync playback. I also assume that the only Mega Man 8 and Mega Man X5 ROMs going around are BIN files, since that's what I got, and PSX ROMs are rare. No desync reports from any of those games so far.
I could name ten or so places to find PS1 games. They're not rare anymore. Some games are, but they're usually japanese. US games are easy to find. As for MM8 and MMX5... I've ran into different formats for them. Also, disc based images are referred to as ISOs. >.> yeah, I know it's nitpicky. Sorry. Pet peeve.

Okay, so here's what I suggest. The team should be Monk and three black magi. You will want to use the ship game at least twice (possibly three) to get yourself a Cockatrice Claw (can't recall what rank awards them). With frame advance you could easily beat the puzzle in 3 seconds or less. You'll want to use this on Astos to kill him in one turn. The time gained should outweigh the time spent. You'll probably also want to get two Blue Fangs to use on the Piscodemons. I suggest having the Magi use them and I suggest fighting 4 of them to get more exp without spending any time fighting random crap. Naturally this should be tested to see if any time is saved at all. Later on in the game most of your troubles can be avoided by taking a trip to the caravan and investing in some of the stat boosting items he sells. Instead of spending god knowns how many fights grinding you could spend one turn having your team use Giants Tonic to increase your max HP by 200 a pop. I actually see no real reason to get into any random fights in the whole run. In fact, aside from Temper, Haste, and possibly Sleep (for the 9 pirates) I see no reason for any other spells because they do so very little damage and take so long to cast. You could check out my guide at GameFAQs for some more possible ideas. http://www.gamefaqs.com/portable/gbadvance/file/920240/35878 Aside from covering all the bosses up to class change in the lowest level it also lists every item in the game that can boost stats and exactly by how much they boost them in case you don't already know. On that note, I highly suggest that you do NOT class change because it doesn't help at all with levels as low as you'll undoubtedly have. Trust me when I say that optional level grinding isn't needed. I've beaten the game with a solo lowest level thief unclasschanged and even Chaos posed little threat with the proper planning. With three BMs to back you up you'll also not need to worry about assloads of curing like a solo challenge so Chaos should drop in about 5 to 6 well manipulated turns. Oh, and have you figured out how to abuse the RNG in and out of battle yet?
I've used that guide quite a bit. Thanks for making it. :)

Bad idea. You should have really chosen 7zip instead.
Except that 7zip GUI is horrible at best.
But it's free, open source, available for most systems, and doesn't nag you with adware.
True, but that GUI is seriously one of the worst ever that actually functions.

FYI, there have been keyboard and mouse supporting games on the PS2 and 3. FPS games. IIRC, UT3 supports keyboard/mouse.

I hope you are not talking about first-person shooters. Because the only way to play those is with a mouse and keyboard. Game controllers simply SUCK big time for playing FPS games. They are just plain horrible. http://warp.povusers.org/grrr/consolefps.html
No, I mean pretty much any 3d game other than an FPS. Think 3D platformer, action/adventure game(I cannot see God of War on a dpad. I just can't), things like that. Games where the third dimension is actually used. I must say, though, an analog stick is much better for an FPS than a dpad. Still, keyboard/mouse wins that battle.

Castlevania: SOTN luck mode with the keeping the alucard equipment glitch. It'd be a hell of a fast run!

I voted yes. Basically, it entertained me, and Yoshi being the fastest one(So far) was a surprise, to say the least. I thought it'd be Falcon, Fox or Pikachu. I spotted a few bits here and there that I thought could have gone faster, but SSB is not really a game I'm very good at...

That's why I mostly stay far, far away from n64 emulation. At least with PS1 emulation you can pretty much get all games working with the P.E.Op.S. software plugin and the Eternal SPU plugin.

Yeah, I read the books, they're pretty entertaining and well-written for the most part (except the last book, which feels more like a screenplay than a book). I was very amused by the whole Harry Potter Teaches Children Witchcraft hysteria, and was very amused that Dumbledore turned out to be gay, which made some.. uh, "special" people go nuts. The movies are so-so. The first movie was OK, the second movie was the best one, and it's been downhill from there. The last two movies have been just awful. Basically, I like the series, but it has gotten far too much attention. Seriously, there are other fantasy books. Stop treating this one like it's some special new kind of storytelling. Sheeish.
That Dumbledore thing was just gigantic balls of WTF. It made no sense whatsoever, like she decided to see if her fandom would freak out. I didn't really care either way, myself, outside of the sheer WTFishness of it.

I don't mean to be offensive, but I rarely (if ever) see people express this view who don't have some kind of Nintendo-related image in their avatar or signature. I wonder. My favourite controller is still the enormous Xbox one. However, I don't even like analogue sticks (let alone buttons) and think they should all die.
They really are needed for 3D games, though... I think the first few years of horrible control on the PS1 kind of confirmed that. I have never played a 3D game on the PS1 that worked right without the analog sticks.

Incorrect. The PS2 does not natively support either FSAA or AF. Instead, developers must fake the effect of AA through painful framebuffer tricks. I don't recall AF ever being used in any way, shape, or form, through framebuffer abuse or otherwise.
I'm unable to find the old magazine that had that info... It was info from the unveiling, so I'm sure it's accurate, but given I cannot back up my claim I'll withdraw it for now.

I've not played the game too much, but I've noticed Masters are generally quite a bit more powerful than Knights. From what I can tell, you can't really manipulate stat gains too much. On some levels it just will not hand out optimal stats(Or even raise one specific stat if that's all you want) no matter what. On others, it will only take a few reloads. I dunno if that's a problem in the NES or not(I've only played it for a few minutes, really.).

I don't really blame him for being angsty in Order of the Phoenix. After all, he did pretty much have his worst fear come true, and not a single frigging soul outside of a small group believed him. I've not run into the "Deathly Hallows is the worst of the series and everyone thinks so" line of thought before. Most people I've seen/known who talked about the book considered it one of their favorites in the series. Personally, I think it's in the middle.

The PS2 had AA AND AF support, but it was never used. The DC didn't really use it either(Nor did it use the EMBM support). Really, though, the PS2 and DC don't really belong in the same category. the PS2 can pull off way more polygons, while the DC wasn't even close in that regard but had better texturing(Though the PS2 being an effective 16x1 or 16x0 on it's pipes was just frigging amazing from a design curiosities point of view). Two different design philosophies.
