Simpler terms: Start game > choose GRID > Dr. Crygor > Mirror Mirror > Game Crashes! This could pose a problem IF someone would be willing to make a TA of this game. Hopefully, you can save state past this game if it suddenly pops up, but it would consume alot of time. I'd like to do Mawaru! Made in Wario myself someday (Wario Ware Twisted). There are some fun minigames to do there, but you have to have that motion sensor patch to work on that game, and I take it that patches are a no-no for TAs.

I guess that it can be used on Time Attacks, unless someone has a say as to why it shouldn't be used. It's not legal to use on Speed Runs, that's for sure.

heh, do you mean that you will eventually do a speedrun of this game and geat a better time than TSA? :P
If I had a proper VCR (or video card for my PC, hopefully somewhere around May 2005), then yes. I intend to do just that. I do have the USA versions of Wind Waker and the USA N64 Ocarina of Time (does the Gold Cartridge edition count?). I wish I had the N64 Majora's Mask though, but I hope the Gamecube version will do. I mean no offence or no harm when I say this, but I seen lots of mistakes on TSA's runs that can be perfected, like running against a couple of walls as to try and enter a door. But I'll hand it to him, he sure knows how to effectively use Deku Sticks on OoT (as it does deal 1.5 times more damage than the Kokiri Sword). I can't guarantee that I will make a flawless run, but I would try and beat his run by about 20 minutes (10 if I do mistakes myself).

Only if you actually care for them. They should be skippable!

Hehe, that was hilarious. I've never seen such stupidity in my whole life. This sure made my day "complete". >:3

Then I must change it. It's in the wrong spot for my game fingers. (prefers 0 numkey). But thanks anyways. ^^;

Frame Advance key, please? (Asking for default key for it or where I can change the buttons)

You can thank Capcom at a later time, for letting the player skip those screens. ;D And in the X series, the bosses are called Irregulars (Maverick in the states).

This "somebody" still happens to be you. I don't feel like replaying this game (or even taking out my Gamecube to play with at all). I only do computer stuff these days (that is, until I get a video card with Video IN. Then you'll see some action, baby!). ^_^

Phil follows my idea here (well, you're more experienced at this type of thing, Phil). I prefer 100% speed myself, but I depend on my frame advance to work as a slow mode too at certain times, like VBA does so elegantly.

Yea it worked now. Thanks. But on VBA, you could hold down the Frame Advance key to keep going forward slowly. But on FCEU, I have to press the button all the time to keep advancing one frame. I mean, sure it could be used for more precise gameplay, but I would like to be able to frame advance while also holding down the key rather than pressing it every time (and thus injuring my poor fingers).

I wondered that too. I thought it would even be hidden internally inside the game, but it didn't. I guess Bandai disliked that theme. I see nothing wrong with that theme though, since I liked it.

I did a very small Rockman 1 run (un-rerecorded), just to see if the AVI record worked flawlessly with FCEU after already making a regular movie first (on Windows XP), and the convertion worked fine. The problem was just that I had to record the AVI uncompressed and not being able to select any codec. And while I'm following up, how do I use the Frame Advance (default Space key)? It doesn't even work when I record the movie.

But they're only supported as helper keys, right? Where you hold one key down and hit another one?
That's why I only stick with single keys, and I think the 0 NumKey is the closest one you can use as of now. It hurt my right-side pinkie alot though while holding it and playing with my joypad.

I don't care if Bandai took the liberty of creating it (and EXE WS, considered being one of my personal favorite games, out of own taste and opinion). This R&F game is (and most definately plays like) a Rockman game and it counts to my collection. I only liked the music in that game though (WS-ified versions of the SNES version Rockman & Forte more or less).

Including <list of Rockman import games>, etc?
Don't forget Battle & Chase and Rockman.EXE WS, Boco. They're as equally important as the rest. ;) <offtopic>I haven't truly played the mobile phone games that are so hard to get since they are Japan-only brands (unless someone can emulate them to a vast degree), but I can tell for sure that I myself have played every single Rockman game that has come out for a game console/portable and I bought/own about 90% of those games. All I lack in my collection is Rockman & Forte WS.</offtopic> I really can't see a reason to say that Rockman X8 is a slow and dull game (I think X7 does a better job at being just that to be honest). julianch seems to have a problem defending whatever honor he still has in his veins, because frankly, I have never seen X8 being slow and dull as he claims it is. Heck, I can prove to him how fast-pace'd the game truly is by playing the PC version (I have the PS2 version too, but I don't have recording tools for it and my tape recorder can't handle NTSC signals), so we can prove his statement wrong. Just say when...! *Gets the game and Fraps ready*

Yes, Spoony. You can get the Gold Chip and still "kill off" Zero to get the Z Saber. I've done it countless times myself to prove it.

Maybe it would be overkill, but someone should be making a "3 hearts-only" run. I know that it is possible. I did it on Kaze no Takuto (the japanese equalent) a few months after its release (I did it because people made a 3 heart run on Ocarina of Time countless of times and I wanted to provide something early to the Zelda community), but it was not a full run, since it was segmented (saving after each dungeon) and I didn't record the video. I still have the webcam'd pictures I made of my savefile (My name was DJSonic back then). Zelda KnT - 3 hearts only - File Menu Zelda KnT - 3 hearts only - Item Menu 1 Zelda KnT - 3 hearts only - Item Menu 2 The hardest boss to survive and that takes alot of Resetting to finally beat is Puppet Ganon (the boss seen on part 22 of TSA's movie). If you fail to beat him properly, you will get owned pretty fast. Other than that, the game is easy come, easy go. There are 2 items that can't be skipped at all (which I wanted to skip but they had to stay as part of the game story and to be able to continue the game at all), and that was the Bottle you ger from Medley (sp?) and the Heart Piece you get from the "Hide'n Seek" boys (man, I've forgotten about the game completely). Other than that, that's all the items you will ever need to pick up to beat the game. Otherwise, I say TSA did a wonderful run of the game. I was impressed of the beating of Puppet Ganon mostly. Well-done, man! ^_^

Camtasia? No wonder the framerate was dropped dramatically. Before you start recording your "window-selected" movie, ther are options that needs to be set. When you set the Video Codecs to use, you can also select to set the framerate for recordings to 60fps. Very useful for games that must have 60fps to be seen properly. Other than that, yes. I really LOVE the streaming method to view a movie. That way, you can see parts of it earlier and stuff. I'd like to see this being used on more movies.

Edit: I have just noticed there was a 9b release. What's the diff between 9 and 9b?
9b has clearer labels for the options in the movie recording dialog, that's all (there wasn't even any source code changed).
No wonder that a dummy like me could easily read and understand the menues so I could make my first re-recorded movie (no matter how in-perfect it turned out to be). I must thank nitsuja for making this possible. Thanks, man! You rock! ^_^

I never thought I'd finally see a run where no single item besides the Z Saber was picked up. I also loved the way you utilized Blizzard Buffalo's weapon against some of the enemies. It's a take (yes)!

Wouldn't the "Zero NumPad key" work good enough? I used that one myself.

More like a "Score" run than a "Speed" run. I didn't care about time here, but more about the score on each stage. Next time, it'll be a time attack instead.

Nah, you think so? :P I just wanted to provide the world with something VERY early (doesn't have to be a perfect acceptible run for nesvideos, but still quite a decent run). This will do for now, really. No need to post it on here anyways, because all I need was your opinions and such. I'll do better when I have more skills at the re-recordings (and more tips for time attacking has been posted). Xerophyte summerized (rated) the run pretty well, though. Props to ya, man!

I want to stress that I was entertained by the run, but that's beside the point. It just doesn't attain the level of precision that's required for acceptance.
I figured you would say that. Oh well, it wasn't meant to be posted here I guess. At least you enjoyed some fragments of it and I bow to that. ^^;
