In my experience, you usually die if you enter a wall in SMW. Maybe you could make a demo with the PAL version?

Well, either we've all missed it, or you're misremembering which games this glitch works on. It's up to you to prove it's the first case and not the second ;)

You've done this on console in Super Mario World? Could you make a quick SMV demo for us?

According to JXQ, it is possible to scale a wall, however you have to do it 1 "block" (16 pixels) at a time.
So, doesn't this mean that getting to the Top Secret Area exit of Donut Ghost House as Small Mario is possible?
I forgot to address this, whoops :) I was able to get two walljumps in a row on the same wall, the second one being one block higher than the first. However, Forest Ghost House needs two screens scaled, and if the screen isn't high enough, Mario will get stuck at the "top" before being able to jump the wall. And Donut Ghost House doesn't have a wall on the left side to scale like this. (You also can't spin jump on those ghosts, it kills you)

Twelvepack, doing the switch palaces would turn levels like Star World 4 and Star World 5 into the same routes as the previous runs. Avoiding them shows a sense of greater control over the game when Mario can skip them and still reach exits that normally "need" them. Tompa, what are you referring to with "corner jumping through a floor"? Also, each time after jumping off a P-switch, they hop glitch at 49 for the remainder of the level (IIRC). I can't think of a level besides Star World 5 where they could choose whether or not to shell- or switch-jump, and they used a shell. Where were you referring to here? DonamerDragon, which two levels do you think used powerups? P.JBoy, you could probabaly turn those pics into links, especially if your goal is to spoil every interesting part of the run. Here are a couple screenshot ideas I have: http://img526.imageshack.us/img526/4908/smw1xm3.png http://img101.imageshack.us/img101/2560/smw3hx6.png

I agree with stanski. Just kidding, this run pwned my face off. It actually reminds me of that SMB1 "Crazy God Technique" video from a few years back. World 7 ends this run with a bang. Every stage there had something that surprised me. Nice job Gregs. Holler at a non-false african-american upon points of visual recognition in an urban setting.

At first I thought it was because the link was in japanese, but other places don't explain the game either. So....what the hell am I supposed to do? There's a cat and a field, and I can fling around until I go past the red border, then click and go to the next stage. I never see score of any kind, or "hole" that I'm supposed to get to.

I think that it should obsolete my run, because a non-glitch run should avoid door-warping, and my run did not do that. I was going for fastest possible and have been trampled in that goal.

And clearly, if anyone has morals, they'll be identical to yours, so you are free to throw judgmental jabs at everyone who doesn't agree with you. Just kidding, that's retarded.

Awesome. Great manipulation on enemies especially. Sure, there's little stuff that will save time here and there, but none of it is apparent to the casual viewer, and it doesn't detract from the highlights of the run. With that said, here's the stuff I did notice, being a not-casual-viewer with this game: 1) Don't turbo through the dialogues, slides, dashes, etc. 2) You keep more speed when jumping from a dash if you do not hold forward, to a point (I believe it's 13 frames). 3) When entering a door, you can stop dashing earlier, walk toward it, and get a little "slide" as the door begins to open, putting you closer to the edge of the screen. 4) When entering a room that stops your movement, such as a conversation or boss room, you can time your dashes to get as far in with it as possible. This can start conversations earlier, and get the Skull Knight to start appearing faster. I vote yes.

anyway, my point is that its really pathetic for a tool-assisted run to not beat a non-assisted one.
But they're not the same game, so that comparison is flawed, which is what several people have been trying to tell you from the jump.

Here is what annoys me about Chalame and Rridgway the most. You're both just looking for attention, and in the "last 3-ish months", more people have realized it and stopped catering to this. If you want to be taken seriously, stop talking and start doing.

Yes, it does mean starting from power-on. Submissions on this site usually aren't accepted if they start from SRAM. Good luck with the next run!

Stupid castlevania and their stupid multiple endings. Anyway, zggzdydp, nice job, and clever use of shortcuts! Are you thinking of redoing it without starting from SRAM and polishing it up a bit to submit it to the site?

How did this run get the best ending without getting dracula's parts?

Ah, this puts some things into perspective for me. How do you know Fractal's reasons for canceling a run? And now you're "very mad" at him? Come on, man. This should have just been a PM to him to discuss things and try to get his perspective, rather than an attack on his decision for everyone to see simply because it doesn't reflect the way that you would have handled it. People don't make TASes just so that you can watch them in pretty AVIs. Stop this nonsense.

Dromicieus, that's a bummer. Chalame, throwing a boss into a pit is way more boring in this game. Additionally, give this a try: 1) Throw a boss into a pit. 2) Leave the screen. 3) Return to the screen. 4) Defeat the enemies. 5) Note the boss appearing. I just verified this myself with Moose. This is called "testing". It's what you should do before posting your "discoveries".

Wow that's very impressive, longnamewithnovowels. (imagines response: Thanks, SNWNV!) Here is what I would suggest for run categories: 1) As fast as possible, whatever ending is fastest (obsoleting my run) 2) Best ending, without use of wall-zipping or the door warp glitch currently used in the published run. 3) Maxim, glitched. If I redid this run, I'd pick #1, and I'd also ask Cardboard if he would team with me. But, I have no current plans to do so, and as always, someone else is welcome to improve the currently published run. I think z has the interest and ability to give us a new run :)

Regardless of how many pixel boosts this run gets, it's a lot more fun to watch than repeated use of that pipe glitch.
