Yeah that's just how they tell me it's done; it screws up for me a lot. (For example, I just went and found Super Demo World's ROM by itself) I've heard that ROMs with headers / no headers can affect this process, but I don't really understand it well enough to offer any explanation.

You need an IPS patcher, like Lunar IPS. Here are some patchers. Then you need the SMW (U) ROM. Be sure to make a backup copy, because this process will overwrite whatever copy you patch. Finally you need the patch for this specific hack, which is linked to at the beginning of the thread (here). Patch your copy of your SMW (U) ROM with the patch for this hack using the patcher, and it should change your SMW (U) ROM to SCW.

Phil if you feel you are being ganged up on, maybe it's because I'm not the only one that thinks your behavior is ridiculous.

Bimmy is the correct name. Double Dragon 1 and 2 has typos. In all seriousness, I'm just trying to put a little fun in the movie descriptions. On the other hand, Phil's continuing abuse of power is a way for him to get his rocks off. Acting like King Shit of Fuck Town and edit anything the way he see fits because he was the one who did the movie before is immature and irresponsible. Come to think of it, wasn't he the one who edited in his own self-exalting phrase of "This controls two players, that's really hard to do!" Should we add that too, or is it only impressive when Phil does it? Should we put disclaimers on all the movies that Phil feels chated out of, like the lies he threw in the NES Castlevania description? In closing, a thousand fucking pardons for trying to be funny in movie descriptions. I'll try to be as boring, incorrect, and as self-exalting as Phil has shown to be in my future contributions as editor.

Do you mean that not having the boss spawn any items after dying makes the door able to be opened earlier? Because even with getting refills, I only lost one frame exiting that door. Torizo also jumped backward before spewing refills, is that jump somehow avoidable? Though that would save another second at least. I dunno.

How many ingame frames could you gain on the Torizo fight if comparing from the Bomb-pickup till the exit of the room after the fight?
38. I could have gotten one more on the exit via subpixel but it only gave me 2 missiles instead of 5.

Just defeated Torizo. I managed to save 68 frames compared to JXQs 100% run
I have no idea how you saved this much. (surprise surprise)

I'm in green Brinstar! This happifies me because now the run gets a lot more fun to TAS. I've only gained 98 frames so far, but that number should start increasing at a more rapid rate pretty soon. I won't be releasing progress this time around since there isn't nearly as much new stuff to see. I mostly just wanted to let everyone know that I have actually started, since I put this run off for a few weeks longer than I intended. I'm aiming to complete the run sometime in April or May.

It might be the same problem Upthorn mentioned here. In which case, the site's code would need fixing.

Since I got a new motherboard (same processor) and new (better) graphics card, I'm now getting random pauses in the (edit: any) video occasionally. The sound does fine, and the video catches up after about a second, but it happens pretty frequently. This didn't happen to me before. I'm using Media Player Classic and ffdshow 12/30/3006. Does anyone know if ffdshow has a place to control its CPU priority, or have any other ideas that might relate to this problem? Thanks in advance.

You could always put a super-long layout-breaking location if you want a custom message under your avatar. See mr_roberts_z for an example.

This is an interesting hack. I still haven't progressed very far, though. I would not want to watch any run of this game until I played it myself. I think figuring out the puzzles would be the entire amount of fun, and seeing them solved for me would kill my desire to try the game for myself. Super Demo World had this element (though not to the same degree), but also more "action" sequences I guess, and so even though I had seen the walkthrough, I still wanted to play it. (I also forgot a lot of the walkthrough shortly after it)

Is there any chance that there'll be a SMV to ZMV converter?
I'm sure a literal converter could be designed, but the chances of it syncing in both emulators is pretty much zero.

Sure, but I don't see why you'd vote no to this one based on that.

And a hack won't be out with new music until they find some way to rip the tunes from New Super Mario Bros.
I don't see what the point is of replacing a Mario game with another Mario game's music. Why not replace it with some good music instead, like Mega Man or Castlevania or F-Zero or Chrono Trigger or Starfox or Blaster Master or Ninja Gaiden or Street Fighter 2 or Kirby or Zanac or Sonic or Killer Instinct or Donkey Kong Country or Final Fight or Double Dragon or Journey to Silius? Maybe I've been TASing Super Mario World too much, and that's why I'm so sick of Mario music.

For comparison, I hex'd this back into GB mode and it synced (though the last few frames may need to be re-recorded to make frame count correct). Perhaps if enough people prefer this version, the rule can be overturned for this case. I haven't watched the run yet, just fast forwarded it to make sure it synced.

They both have puzzles for the secret exits. I don't see what your point about new graphics has to do with the quality of a hack.
Because it makes the hack interesting. I did not like the SMB Air run because the hack had no new graphics.
New graphics make screenshots of the game look interesting. They don't make it fun to play. For example, the Green Hill Zone screenshots look really cool! Then I played them, and found them to be very bland. I'm still waiting for a SMW hack with decent music.

Submission #0 doesn't exist? Http 403 No bonus?? With the way the wiki works, the place you listed the ROM tries to link to pages that don't exist. This is because square brackets are used as redirection tags. You probably don't need to list it there anyway, since it's in the submission information.

It's almost as if the re-recording functionality doesn't quite support the game at this point, yet it's still being run. Good thing that won't cause any scenarios like Famtasia or VBA did.

Hello xipo. In the future, it is helpful if you can give a more detailed ROM name. For example, the ROM for this run is "Captain America and the Avengers (U).nes". About the run: I haven't played this game, so I don't know how the physics work. As someone who hasn't played or seen the game before, this looked like it could be improved in some parts. Most notably, it seemed as if you dash over very small parts that might be faster to just walk through. If someone else knows this game better and can confirm that I'm wrong, please let me know.
