It's probably not easy to get a good screenshot from this game that depicts the run very well. Backwalking wouldn't make a good screenshot, and something from a cutscene would probably be pointless, and... hmm, what was I talking about?

Is there an option somewhere in PHPbb that allows you to customize which forum topics are shown when logged in? (I'm guessing "no", but.... leap of faith!!!)

this page (just about the only publicity the run managed to get...*sigh*)
There are probably less than five runs on this site that have gotten more "publicity" than this. Seriously, this is quite a nice and informative write up. I'm not sure what more you could expect.

That could be a logical progression of Tub's idea brought up in the "request for clarification: concept demo" thread, which I'm still in huge support of. If I knew PHP or whatever this site uses I might even try to code it myself to get the ball rolling. :)

Maybe votes should be based on a length of time after registering. It would discourage spam. It would also stop penalizing those who don't post thirty times a day just for the hell of it.

Wow, a tautology, helpful! It was a moon for a short while, then it took the 16-star's star in exchange for that moon.

Well at least this one wasn't a hacked game trying to deceive us.

This guy has the coolest walk ever. Who can't walk like that when listening to this game's music? I was wondering if the submarine can be optimized better when going around corners, since it doesn't have the instant acceleration that you do when swimming alone.

Thanks for the smv's Saturn! <3 I'm really happy that Draygon can be further humiliated. And yes, Super Metroid 100% v2 is on the horizon, just after these Sonic runs. For the record, I don't expect an in-game improvement by enough to change the minute mark...but that'd be really neat :D

Launch Base 2 is my favorite level so far, especially the final boss fight. (The lack of music was cool, I thought)

I'm wondering why this hasn't been published yet. After all, it's a known rule that games that start with M are to be published immediately. This guideline easy to follow in all circumstances because publishing is actually done by robots.

I understand your points; publication is mainly my own gripe because it's of little interest to me. That being said, I do agree that AVI files do have some advantages over emulation. Edit: Yes that sounds right Zurreco. My ROM wasn't labeled, but the checksum mismatched, so I was like "meh, let's see where this goes". Ka-razy! Edit 2: Speaking of Boomer Kuwanger, his stage music rocks.

I have a natural skill at making my pictures look horrible in a way that makes them even more awesome. Truncated, I tried to read your post, but my head started to hurt, and then I went to eat some ice cream. \o/ I also didn't know that there were backwards letters in the character set! Boo-yah!

Let's get rid of the whole publication feature and just host emulators and movie files. (This is not sarcasm) I watched this yesterday on the wrong ROM, which synced until Sigma-2 (I think). Very well done! I had no idea this game had so much playaround potential.

"Making of" just brings MTV-like images into my head. We'd have crazy clips with cameras ever-moving and hip-hop playing, spliced with images of women dancing and groups of people watching the video and going "WHOAAAA!!!!" and giving each other dap whilst listening to their ipods and answering their flashy-looking but cheaply made cell phones. It'd be grand fun :) Actually, Bisqwit made a large picture for one of the levels (Cutman I think?) that did an excellent job of explaining the "route" (term used loosely, especially for that level, heh).

BoltR: Not directed at you - just saw an opportunity to use the new indicator. It's actually a reference to the latest argument in the Mega Man submission thread. It was actually Bisqwit who said that voting no in this type of circumstance was a stupid protest action. Maybe I am getting too cryptic for my own good :\ sorry

No doubt, why even vote at all? It's just a stupid protest and your vote is incorrect. Succumb to the masses!

Tub, the Playstation controller I'm referring to is the standard one that I've only used for a few weeks since my previous awesome (also Playstation, but off-brand) controller stopped working. And my new controller is only cheap because many players don't see the value in a non-dual-analog controller anymore. No disrespect to my old (good) controller :) But that standard PS controller bites. The only reason it hasn't died too is because I try to use it as little as possible for the sake of my hand. With Super Metroid, I could press a direction, L, B, A, X and still use my pinky for frame advance, which is what I normally use. Of course, I'm using more than one thumb to press these, so I might be misunderstand something about your question. Super Metroid is one of the tougher games to keep button presses straight, though.

Who did this video? I just can't seem to find the answer anywhere.
I guess next time I'll stick a big orange flag in the ground that reads "SARCASM" and sound off a few air horns.
