You have started this argument twice, and you have not said anything here that you didn't in the previous submission's thread. That's what I'm specifically referring to. Also a subtle reference to the fact that your posts are often very long (not saying this is automatically bad).

What if someone felt this way: "I didn't like this run too much, like the previous times. Theoretically interesting, but not otherwise. I'd vote no, but I don't want to be caught doing a stupid action while simultaneously being bitched at for abusing the voting system." See the problem, guys? By hammering legitimacy of the voting system as you see it, you are attempting to rob it of its objectivity. This isn't the US presidential election. Our votes should actually mean something.

Who says it's a protest? Is it that hard to believe that someone doesn't like this run? Edit: Since Bisqwit edited his post, mine seems to make no sense now. Edit2: Wait, yes it does. Someone who votes "no" on this run is doing a "stupid action"?

You're abusing it because you're sputtering the same inane bullshit over and over!! At least NecroVMX kept it short and sweet with his opinion. He's not arguing with everyone this time why we shouldn't vote yes because it's so glitched - he just said his opinion and left it at that, because THIS ARGUMENT ALREADY HAPPENED. STOP REPEATING YOURSELF. How on Earth do you come to the conclusion that voting no on a submission has anything to do with the previous submission? Or that NecroVMX didn't watch the run? Or that his vote here is a protest to all glitched runs? Oh, you assumed all of these things. LET IT GO!!

Wow, I had no idea it was this improvable. The run held my interest, so I'll vote yes. But that main character is creepy looking!

Warp: Voting no on this submission is pointless in the same way that voting yes on this submission is pointless, in the same way that posting about why someone shouldn't have voted how they did is fifty times more pointless. Additionally, voting no means you did not like watching this movie, not that you liked the previous submission better. I know this because the question above the voting selection reads "Did you like watching this movie?". LET IT GO.

I forgot to mention this, but as I was watching, I remembered about a conversation that was had here sometime about which smv had the least amount of "button press data" for its size, or something like that. Anyway, I think this game would win that.

Wow, what a day for the workbench! I haven't understood this game since four versions ago, so commenting now would be futile. I'll simply congratulate you on continuing to squeeze blood out of this turnip! Also I think it's cool that Finalfighter was given co-author.

Nicely optimized. Overall, very nice job. The bird-claw Desert star was noticeably improved and Bowser 2 was just a nice outside-the-box idea. I don't care for the giant zoom whatever glitch, but it wasn't too frequent in the run.

I was able to save 11 frames from the AVI by steering Mario to a better landing spot. Submission file has been updated (thanks Bisqwit). Shaded Spriter: That's actually half of the princess's face, upside-down, and green.

(not sure if this is common knowledge to those who aren't as familiar with improper speaking English) whatcha = what do you, what are you In this case, when the "do" is dropped (due to laziness, for lack of a better word), it turns into "what you" and words with a hard ending followed by an "e" sound (which is what "you" gives, like "eww") often get churned into a "ch" sound.

For me, the less things make sense in "real life", the better they work for this idea. For example, the mockball almost works in real life in my mind. It makes sense, it's smooth and cool. Mega Man sticking his head into the ceiling doesn't mean "ramming speed Mr. Sulu" in real life, so it becomes funnier when you add the real life part of "ouch, my head is inside a wall". The problem is that in Super Metroid, most of the tricks are still fluid looking. I can't think of a good idea for that game.

It might be possible to shorten the AVI by a small amount by having Mario land in the spot that is already the correct distance away from where the Princess will land, so they don't have to walk. I'll test this when I get home, unless Fabian reads this and tests it first :) This would not shorten the amount of input needed, but would not make it longer either. If it does improve the AVI length, we'll just update the submission file.

Here are a few ideas, not sure how well they would work though: Castlevania - hitting enemies over and over getting lots of ridiculous treasures, each more outlandish than the last? (holy water, double shot, triple shot, invincibility jar, treasure chest, Cadillac, etc.) Gradius - pilot being nauseus Bionic Commando - super fast grappling, followed by guards reacting much too late? SMB2 - Rock repeatedly landing on CrawgRip? SDW - juggling spring/key/p-switch/shell/goomba/toad/Cadillac? <adelikat> well in dragon warrior 4, I critical hit myself and die in order to save travel time <adelikat> walk up to a slime, pull out sword, stab self into head (edited for more funniness)

I didn't picture the Zelda one being too doable comedically (because the animation is longer), but man was I wrong! LOL I hope you keep these up! These animations have a really cool "charm" to them. The games that work best are where the TAS is quite different from its unassisted counterpart. The two examples so far have worked very well. I'll try to think of more ideas.

AKA: Fadeout lag is much more present on Castle #1 than any other level - you can get 30 frames of it here (as opposed to 2 or 3 in the other levels) if you have a bad score. So getting a score that worked for this level specifically was crucial to saving time, and the "score route" for the run was built with emphasis on that level. It's not about a low score, but low digits in scores (though it's still not completely understood). Tompa: You can walljump, but it's slower than grabbing the fence.
