Progress: I'm investigating the warps. The determining factor with warping from Level 1 to 6 is defeating the boss as the mouse, although I'm not sure if you need to land the last hit, or all the hits, or just turn into the mouse after the last hit. You can also skip the Ice Palace by defeating the boss as the Golem (Mazzic did this in his v1 run). I'm going to see if any other warps of this fashion exist, and if necessary, plan a route. There is no horizontal acceleration, similar to Mega Man. There is vertical acceleration, but only up to a point. (Strangely, the momentum variable will keep increasing on a long fall, but the fall will not get faster past a certain point). Another thing to note is that walking off any platform will cause a 1-frame delay. Instead, hop off of it. I've also found the usual memory locations (position, velocity, lag flag). 10 days you say?

Bag, thanks for the info. Although I don't think the game will require so much strategy to need the potions, as the levels are short, and hearts are fairly common / easy to manipulate, and it seems that the game fills energy faster with hearts than potions, unless you have a lot of energy to refill. But who knows when they might be needed. Better to have and not need than need and not have. Just like health insurance, and glocks. Truncated, yes I'm interested (and I like "under construction"!!). Here is my R.U.C. at the end of the practice levels, 40 frames ahead of Mazzic's v2.

Alright I've started work on this. I'm really excited to JXQ the crap out of this game. I'm going to use the warp at the end of the first real level. I've only completed the first practice level so far, but I'm five frames ahead of Mazzic's v2 unfinished run. I'm also using the (U) version, so the title screen is slower, but I'm not concerned with that. Here's what I'm wondering, from those who are more familiar with the game than I: Are there any types of powerups with effects that may be helpful that are not obvious? I'm seeing that there are max-life increasers that remain permanent, and that life starts out at full on each level. I plan on giving these to the mouse as much as possible, so that I can take more hits without having to switch characters. Anything else I should be sure to do (or even just try) as far as item collection?

FODA I almost figured out what country you are talking about, but I was too busy measuring the inches on my fahrenheit thermometer to check the clock that puts the month before the day. Yeah, we suck :(

I swear I found a site before that had the maps of the levels screenshot-by-screenshot, but I'm not able to find it now.
I found it! http://www.bghq.com/nc/pages/sdw.php?mode=main I tried all sorts of google searches, ("Super Demo World" level maps, "Super Demo World" screenshot maps, "Super Demo World" "Pipe World" "Boo's World") and the one that finally worked was just Super Demo World without quotes. Second entry. Don't I feel silly.

Today, one year ago, I submitted my first run to this site. Since then I've finished and submitted 8 more runs, and I've had a blast doing it. I hope my next year here can be as productive! The forums and IRC have been fun as well. This is the only site I really participate actively in discussion. So thanks to everyone here for kicking ass!

What if we removed the panels and replaced them with Calvin and Hobbes comics? Now that would be funny.

what are your thoughts on Will Smith as a rapper or an actor or a husband?
Rapper: 20 years ago, very cool. 10 years ago...not so much. Now, not at all. He raps cuz he enjoys it, which I admire, but he thinks his rap is better because he doesn't swear. That's ridiculous. Actor: I like him as an actor. Fresh Prince was one of my favorite shows growing up. He may not always be in the best movies (MIB, I Robot), but I always end up liking the character he plays. Husband: I dunno, but I've never liked Jada Pinkett very much, or thought she was attractive in any way. And Chamillionaire's army has a name. Chamillitary. HeLLO!!!

It was a tad repetitive for me, but the music was awesome, and dancing to it in Level 6 was well done. V=Y.

Hey Mad Max, Paperboy called, they want ALL THEIR SOUND EFFECTS back. I never played this game. I think someone who has played it would find this more entertaining, because you pointed out how difficult it is. But there's nothing too inspiring about the graphics or sound (effects), and the tricks that are pulled off don't look amazing, even if they are good timesavers. I must vote no.

I don't like the comic. But I'm surprised someone is going to this much trouble to analyze it to try and find all the funny hidden beneath the boring. I can't tell if this is satire or not. http://www.thebestpageintheuniverse.net/c.cgi?u=garfield_sucks
