Great job, this was a very entertaining watch. I'm excited to see how much you break DKC2 after seeing some of the tricks you've discovered!

Fabian, if you really want to try it out, I'll be down for attempting the hex-edit of the next...(counts)...27 levels?? Yikes. And I'm leaving for two weeks, so it will probably jump to like....28 by the time I'm back! If Tubular was in the 11-exit, I'd say go for it. But it's not, and your Tubular looks Way Cool anyway (Awesome!).

I think it looks more skillful to beat Tubular without a P-balloon than with, even with the glitch.

The highest this makes the stack is three higher than the pile (piece D), and if that is placed last, then it may not matter, depending on how the rules go above the top of the board. Lather, rinse, repeat. EDIT: Hmm, you can't repeat it verbatum, because piece 1 will fit into the hole on the second row. So instead, use a mirror image of the above algorithm for the second repetition, and then the original for the third, etc.

How are you guys going to use a left+right trick at SDA? Also, the speed of this trick oscillates in the following way: 52, 51, 50, ..., 37, 36, 52, 51, .... Which at its peak is faster than any form of travel in the game, but overall averages to a speed of 44, which is between the speeds of running (35-37) and sprinting (47-49). 51 is the fastest possible flying speed.

Definitely looking better than your test version. I have one nitpick in Act 1, on the loop-the-loop, but you may have considered this already and decided against it. It's possible to get all five rings and still do a couple jumps in there to greatly increase your speed. However, since the fastest time is over 24.3333 seconds, the overall time is faster if you wait and cross at 30 seconds. So if you did this speed trick, you'd just be waiting longer. This scenario is why I just decided to go for in-game timer instead, because I can't think of a good answer. Either way has a part to me that stands out as not-so-good, but as you are the author, it is your decision.

I understand the marketability: Superman is kind of gay, but very powerful. Batman isn't as powerful, but very cool. *Shplort* Instant movie. The idea just seems lazy to me, I guess. Reminds me of the abysmal "Freddy vs. Jason".

Wow, the surprises with this game never seem to end! What I'm glad for is that my route didn't include going through Botwoon's room again, because had I played through Draygon and gotten 3 or 4 items afterwards, and THEN realized I'm fighting Botwoon again, I can imagine I would have been very frustrated. :)

This looks awful. Not because it's an amateur movie, but because it's a stupid concept.

Cheeseman, I have an idea for amusement for you. 1) Write down this quote of yours, and put it in a safe place. 2) In ten years, when you hit legal drinking age, pull it out, read it, and laugh yourself silly. 3) Continue drinking.

It's a thread about a published movie. I would think those are exempt from that kind of thing.

Xkeeper, that's a really clever idea! I'm also surprised there were 2 attempts in 12 hours. Stupid internet. What won't the spammers spam? In other news, I'm actually a spambot in disguise.

This "discussion" (bickering over the world record time) belongs at a console-running website, or this elite.net thing. TASvideos is about making entertaining videos, not petty competitive "shoving".

I think the dual video doesn't look very good, but not just because of the boringness of the non-cam-hack. I think the lack of a clear division between the two is distracting (although, a clear division may also be distracting). No need to restate everything else I already stated.

Graveworm, I understand and agree with you for the average viewer. I was just giving my view on it (and voting accordingly). However, if #2 was chosen, a very special note could be made in the movie's description, much like the description to this submission, to accomodate those who wanted to view the non-cam-hacked version of the run, and weren't immediately sure how. I would rather there not be a dual encoding, so that I could only download the run I wanted to see instead of having to download a larger file and be forced to watch both be played on an extremely wide avi. It just happens that the run I would want to see would be the camhack. So if not #2, then #3. But definitely not #4. Also, Bisqwit & Angerfist's Rockman TAS doesn't have an alternate AVI without the magnet beam visuals altered (to my knowledge), and there's no practical need for one. I feel the same way about this run without the camera hacked emulator.

I vote Option 2. If I want to see the run as it should be, I'll watch it in the emulator.

Why publish 2 if one is boring to watch compared to the other?

I made a topic on this game a while ago. http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2674 The problem is - on what difficulty should the TAS be, and should bonus stages be included? I encourage further discussion to take place at the other thread.

I respectfully disagree. You bastard.
Laughing out loud (that one's for Angerfist)
But seriously in a game as highly contested as this speed has to be the main focus.
I understand your point, but at the same time, it just doesn't do it for me. It goes back to speed vs. entertainment, and also I think that knowing this game in a detailed manner will help the look-down method be more entertaining.

In my opinion, these previews so far are not fun to watch at all, fastest time or not (Edit: due to the look-down).
