Frame advance could probably improve this a couple more seconds. The third level is definitely improved very much. But, this is not a fun movie to watch. The game is not suited for this type of play to be entertaining.

Hooray! An un-obsoletable movie!

Holy hell Vatchern, just read some fucking text for once. Or at least check the first couple posts, or author. There's information available, there's no need to ask everyone restate it for the sake of your laziness.

Hmm, how 'bout "yes". A great screenshot would be on the third level when both players are doing their "I'M SO STRONG WITH TWO GUNS" pose.

Begin a chancellor isn't about being worth something, but thinking of new ways to be worthy that have not been thought yet. *dance dance dance*

I can't tell how optimal this is, but it's a fun watch. If it's obsoletable, then someday it will be bested. However, it's still entertaining and should be published, in my opinion. The end-of-level-dance is the greatest thing since WATER CAN DESTROY PULSEMAN!! (which I probably misquoted, and also just saw yesterday)

I forgot to mention how awesome all your shenanigans were with controller input during screen totals and transitions! And that I voted yes.

Very nice, I definitely want to try this game out. I hope you do a non-glitch run someday; the only part where I thought the excessive glitching made it more entertaining was when you were falling through all the platforms on alternating sides of the screen.

Sami, do you realize this is a pacifist (doesn't kill unnecessary enemies) run? Parts could indeed be done faster by killing more enemies, but are there any you spotted that would still avoid killing unnecessary enemies?

Sin City. And you aren't a fan of Jessica Alba why? Is she too mind-blowingly hot? Don't watch National Treasure. Edit: What happened to your avatar?

You ended the movie a little late, but personally I thought this was great. There are so many enemies on this game's hard mode that a pacifist run is actually fun to watch. I vote yes.

I would recommend breaking the same blocks I do in the 11-exit TAS. After breaking the third block (so four blocks are spinning), near the height of that bounce, begin holding -> and jump. With just a bit of luck, this will push you down through the blocks very quickly.

It's fun having games where diagonal walking is faster than normal walking. It's as if Pythagoras never lived!

Hmm. I've considered your opinion, Aqfaq, and decided you're still wrong. Sorry to own you so hard. Major edit: Just kidding.

My lone complaint is Cossack 3, because all the 30 Hz action that creates sound (repeated jumping and shooting) interferes with the great music. Also I just noticed that Wily 3/4's music is somewhat a remix of Cossack 3/4. But I am surprised that your old version could be done OVER A MINUTE faster! Bravo. I'd vote yes, but does it even matter? It's a Mega Man game.

Silly old Europeans hanging onto their old silly ways! How can you even know how long a centimeter is? There's no furlongs! What's a dozen in metric? A metric dozen??? The King's thumb is one inch. What is it in metric land? The size of MetricMan's eyebrows? Join the modern world and give up Metrocity. (Quotes taken from episode 16 of Tiki Bar TV.)

A solution to the "too many similar topics posted" problem: Stop posting them, thanks. (I realize this accomplishes the opposite, but you have to use money to make money! Or something)

I just tried to play the movie without WIP timing on, and it indeed desyncs in Misty Isle 3 - missing the second enemy (but somehow still hitting a few more), and falling in the pit shortly after. So, this is most likely the problem.

I swear I found a site before that had the maps of the levels screenshot-by-screenshot, but I'm not able to find it now.

Accomplish what? Publicly posting on the forums should get the word out that a run is encoded. But if posting isn't doing the job as you claim, then maybe submissions should have a category of "encoded"? I can't think of a more effective way of letting publishers know than that, short of beating them all over the head with it relentlessly, which is annoying I'm sure, but COME ON, IT TAKES FOUR MINUTES. I also don't remember any cases where encoding happened before acceptance. And if Maza has the time to do that, then what is the problem with doing so? Encoding a run before its fate is final carries some risk for the encoder, as they may be wasting their own time. They certainly aren't wasting yours. Despite your complaints (EDIT, removed portion for better clarity), Maza did encode some movies. The whole publishing situation is a problem that I believe should have some serious attention directed at it instead of making some piss-poor excuses. Any other publishers want to add their 2 cents?

There are no other movies that are not being published despite having been encoded. (At least that I know.) It is not a general direction.
There have been some in the past, such as Smash TV, Castlevania CotM, and SMB2(U) warpless (I think...but I may be mistaking this for something else). I remember Maza encoded quite a few runs and would post "I've encoded this, so any publisher can get the avi from me." Followed by much of nothing. So I was just curious as to why that kind of thing was happening.

I removed it from my geocities account awhile ago, so now I put it on everyone's favorite site, RapidShare: http://rapidshare.de/files/22039734/SDWdemos.zip.html I guess I could update the submission as well.

Here's what I'm wondering. I brought this up in IRC yesterday but didn't receive a response. There exists at least one run currently (and others in the past) which is both approved and encoded, but not published. What the hell could be the point of this? Atma told me it takes an average of four minutes to publish an already-accepted, already-encoded movie. Four minutes? (EDIT for clarity) Could any publisher please explain why they haven't taken the four minutes to make these runs published? I think it's extremely demoralizing to those who do runs to be stuck in YET ANOTHER type of submission limbo. I asked Bisqwit about Aqfaq's run of Gods, which was approved by Truncated and encoded by Guybrush, and he said "I was hoping someone else would publish it." What am I missing here? Do we need yet another category of people who can take four minutes out of their schedule to publish already-approved, already-encoded runs?
