Ah, so this is like a frame-seek? I thought you meant the same type of frame search that is in VBA.

Thanks to the gang on IRC for finally helping me figure out what uncultivated means :) I think the reason I've been avoiding the use of frame-precise moves is because so much of the run uses the shoulder pump, which is frame-precise in itself (and kind of strange looking), so during bosses and waiting periods, I try to make the play look the other way. I will see what I can come up with though. I agree that OgreSlayeR's sliding move was pretty neat to watch.

I'm past this already, but I was able to make it look kind of cool. But still I'd appreciate ideas for waiting periods, as I still have a couple left.

You mean you aren't? I thought for sure all the research you were doing was going to be followed by you working on this game.

I thought you could only delete your posts if no one had replied afterwards (unless you are a moderator).

Well N64 games are typically longer and more involved than games from the 8-bit era because games were starting to become more mainstream. I don't like 3-D games very much, because compared to 2-D, the intuitive nature of controlling the action is trash, and also because of the lack of view of all the action, no matter how you rig up the camera system. So, I myself am not very interested in N64 TASing, watching or making. (One exception is Blast Corps....someday) Another problem is that the resources for this emulator are much greater than most of the other emulators used here. Also, many games still aren't correctly emulated yet.

I didn't mean that, I just meant that most of the others that have posted are almost surely older than that. And the snow in my area is finally gone for good (probably (edit: until November)), so I should start working on those free throws ;)

A small group of self-proclaimed worst basketball players getting outscored by a 12-year old. Someday, it will be on YouTube.

I'm a buck-forty, so this really isn't my specialty either. Come to think of it, I don't know what my specialty is. My shot is a little off and my dribbling skills are average at best. I suppose I have good awareness of the court and can pass pretty well, but I'm out of practice. For defense, I can stay on my man, but I don't have the height to contest any shots, and I don't have the weight to stop them from going where they want. WHeeee!!

Bisqwit, please call it by its awesome full name you invented, the "Look at my hand, I just threw something!" pose. (Exclamation point added by JXQ)

It was only in that one part on Woodman's stage anyway, so it wasn't even a big bother for me, the controller-input watcher :) Anyway, this looks great, my only question was in Crashman around frame 33715, you seemed to stay on the Item-1 for a bit long. Do you travel faster riding it up than using the ladder for a bit?

It seems this is a common phenomenon, and it may not matter to many who don't watch with controller input, but... Many of your buttons (in Woodman's stage is where I first noticed this) are pressing the same buttons on controller 1 and 2 at the same time. Probably doesn't matter in this game, but I know it would cause some headaches in MM3.

I never noticed how the scoring worked until this run, but you take advantage of the multiple-hit bonuses really well. Overall this was very fun to watch. My only question would be in Level 4, do you happen to know how much time going over the top of the rock formation in the first part of the level saves? It seems like you have to wait a while before to get hit up there, and again to catch the platform afterwards. Yes vote!

Well, it's tough to get rebounds over people with eight to twelve inches on me :)

Good? No, but I enjoy playing it. I used to be about on par with my friends (years ago), but then they fully realized their height advantage over me (I'm 5' 6" (167 cm (third set of parenthesis))).

Yeah, the other version of this definitely needs an improvement. *plot plot plot*

Fredrik: The bombs lift Samus at the same rate, etc., but compared to Teri's run, which uses this trick, I'm six frames slower due to a bit more lag. Frown. It also could be due to some random fadeout differences (which occasionally happens in this game). Saturn: Thank you! I actually work on this run around an average of four hours a day. Grambo: Fabian was being sarcastic in his first post. Fabian: LOL I'm going to quote your first reply on my page.

If a name is changed for more readability and for getting more into the plot, then the pace of the text should be readable in realtime. I don't know how fast text scrolls in this game, but if it's too fast to read when spamming the advance button (like in many RPGs), then what's the point of actually naming a character?

I never played this game as a kid. It's good to know I didn't miss much. Not to take away from Kyrsimys's play, as it was very precise, but whoever designed World 1 and thought it would be fun to play should be forced to play it until they cry and realize their mistake.

No, those retarded animals can burn for all I care. (I'm so nice) I'm just going for the screen at the end to say "your rate for collecting items is 100%", and for fastest time within that goal.

Alrighty. Warning - there's an update here - don't spoil it for yourself if you don't want to! Wheeeeeeeeeee bleep 65% collection. The reason I posted is to get ideas about what I could possibly do for the next section, where I wait for the "special" robot to slow its way through the wall just before the spring ball. Any ideas? Also, questions/comments welcome. Edit: The Draygon fight is my favorite part. Watching Draygon's life in memory was a huge help to this fight. The shinespark can be used to inflict much more damage than I thought (The shinespark in this battle hits Draygon for the equivalent of 3 Super Missles).
