Hm. . . Too many mistakes over all. . . Time-consuming mistakes in Chemical Plant Zone, Casino Night Zone, Hill Top Zone, Oil Ocean Zone(other than those already mentioned, I mean), Metropolis Zone(especially in Act 3), and the at least half of the boss fights need some work on the speed factor. As for show-offiness in Sky Chase, try to get more consecutive kills in a row. Like with the area that has six of those Nebulas in an upside-down V shape, try to nail all six in one swoop. Heh. Also, some of those rows of Balkirys can be nailed in a consective motion if you try hard enough. Lastly, here's some fun facts about Silver Sonic and the Egg Mech. Did you know Miles can simply duck down under and behind Silver Sonic's whirling spines? Did you know you can nail the Egg Mech in the rear while it's walking? I've cut my Death Egg Zone time down to 0:52 by doing this. And once. . . For one glorious attempt. . .I was able to nail him all twelve times before he took off. But more to cutting time. . . If you rev up before the computer takes over as you escape Death Egg, you can cut your time down quite a bit more. Heh, I may not know the levels themselves, but I damned sure know the boss fights and Death Egg. Summary: Final Vote: No. Main Reasons: It's a beautiful speed run, but there are a lot of sloppy mistakes, especially during some of the boss fights. Advice: Play Death Egg Zone until you can get an 11-1 run on the Egg Mech, if not a 12-0 run.(For hits.) Use Miles instead of Sonic(and Miles) if you want to hasten your attack on Silver Sonic. Dash less, run more. Or if you Dash, don't rev up as much. Edit: Yes, I edit my posts a lot. Sorry.

Yep. During one game, you can only use one character per-person in only one course. Say like. . . Rockman playing Rockman 1-3. Or Forte playing Rockman 4-6. Any character can do any course, but you cna only do one course per session. Otherwise I would've tried to go the whole three courses in one shot. Same goes for Rockman 2: the Power Fighters and its three courses. The "Retrieve the Power Parts" course, "Rescue Roll" course, and "Stop Wily" course. But in Rockman 2, Duo(who looks like Gutsman stomped on him a few times. . .) is playable. There's also more moves and whatnot, too. Not just for you, but for the enemies as well.

Megaman: the Power Battle in 03:26 • Takes no damage. • Uses enemy weapons. • Uses Bass(supposedly the hardest of the three characters to use because of his flighty "slide" move). • Plays Megaman 7 course, the most difficult course in the game. • Plays on Difficulty Level 4. • Plays on Time Limit Level 4(59.99 Seconds). • Defeats Wily Escape Pod. • Uses Save States to "predict" enemy patterns. I was bored and decided to do this run. Overall, this was a good hour's worth of work or so(only because I know the game front and back) with about 7 retries and, according to the recording, 331 undos(Save State undos). 12,268 frames of animation in 3 minutes, 26 seconds, this is definately a fun movie to watch. Especially when I fight Freezeman, Turboman, and the Wily Machine. Hah. Why am I posting this here instead of actually submitting this? Simply put, I wasn't sure about the rules, so I decided to play it safe. According to the rules, the site only accepts Famicom, MegaDrive, and Super Famicom movies, but I notice they have an edited version of FinalBurn Alpha, not to mention the fact their "starting point" list of movies includes a few Arcade games(such as both Rockman games), so. . . Anyway, enjoy! Note: You must use FinalBurn Alpha v0.2.94.98 to view this Input Movie File. I recommend the patched version, but the unpatched version apparently works, according to the document. Any version above v0.2.94.98 will not work! I've tested it on the latest release(v0.2.95.23) and it failed to work. If anyone wants to encode this movie into AVI format, feel free to do so. The best I could get was a 58MB file, however.

Agreed. And then some. All the MegaDrive version's graphics are "enhanced" and shiny. . .except for the Toads themselves, for some reason. Heh. But overall, the graphic styling is far more ugly than the Nintendo version. Which is funny, because the MegaDrive version of Snake, Rattle and Roll is nicer overall than the Nintendo version. The music isn't the same at all, but even the new music seems to fit. But I'm getting way off-topic again. Sorry.

This is a bit off-topic, but I gotta question, now. . . Is that two-player bug in Level 11 still there in the MegaDrive/Genesis version of Battletoads? Does anyone know?

Nintendo of America translates the game's title one way, I translate it another. Sue me. Edit:

So hah! :x Anyway. . . Well, I guess I could give it a whack. . . I'll read through the NES video guides and whatnot and see if I can do it. As it is, I'm playing through the game to get a feel for the straight-shot path, so. . .

I've got another one of my genius suggestions. Anyone feel like doing Rambo? It basically plays like Link's Adventure(minus the levelling and spells system) mixed with the most bizarre parody of Rambo: First Blood I've ever seen. It really is a very fun game overall, if not a bit irritating. Great music, too. Edit: I take that back. There's a limited "level" system. You can kill enemies to gain levels for your Combat Knife. Up to Level 9. But otherwise, I dunno. The other weapons don't seem to be all that effected.(I'm at Level 2 right now.) But whatever. Here's a fun screenshot.

The ROM actually is available, but I get what you're saying. Like I said, just a thought. Thanks for humouring me. Heh.

Eh, just a thought. Would there be any interest whatsoever in grabbing a copy of Nintendo World Championship 1990 and busting through the three games in it(Super Mario Bros., Rad Racer, and Tetris) via tool-assisted emulation and all that? I'd like to see someone actually be able to trip that 1,000,000-digit on the counter, for one. Or at the very least, buzz through the game as a blistering pace. That's probably just me, though. I'd do it myself, but I don't really feel like putting the time and effort into it.

I think FCE Ultra is the best emulator out there, but even it has its software and emulation errors. For example. . . For some reason, it can't do the scrolling in the top-down stage of Wai Wai World properly. It also take a lot of power to run, for some odd reason. A FamiCom emulator should not require a 1,800 Mhz Pentium Processor with 386MB of RAM and a 32MB video card to run smoothly. Yet, if you want to play games at anything higher than 320 x 240, it takes that, and possibly more. But back on-topic here. . . There are a few things that bug me about Famtasia. Firstly, the palette is inaccurate. This seems most noticable with Rockman and the Rockman series of games. Secondly, the sound chip, to the best of my knowledge, is not properly emulated either.(Again, I'm using Rockman as my basis, seeing as I'm a Rockman fanatic.) The video issue doesn't really bother me now, considering I can play it at full screen 320 x 240 mode with Joystick/pad support. It even runs at a full 50/60FPS(depending on the nationality of the ROM). All and all, I think I've warmed up to Famtasia, honestly, but I think I'll stick with FCE Ultra for sprite ripping and for playing most games.

* Ensure you run Famtasia in the same directory your famtasia.ini is in. * Ensure you have that famtasia.ini. * Ensure your famtasia.ini has occupation=1. (Not any other number.) * Ensure you use Famtasia unscaled (1x). 60 fps (the patched famtasia) requires 3 times more power than 20 fps (the normal famtasia), and scaling 2x requires 4 times more power than scaling 1x.

I just find it a bit ridiculous that an NES emulator could require more than 200MHz, and even run like that on 1800+ my MHz. I usually just start the game, start the movie, then shrink the window to a really tiny size, then re-expand it to a reasonable size that I don't think will cause a massive amount of freezing and "speed adjusting."
So in other words, Famtasia sucks as a decent emulator. I see, now. . . *grins* Seriously though. I can't get it to run at 60FPS no matter how hard I try. It always runs at 50FPS, and sometimes 30 or 20FPS. Playing movies, or playing games, it makes no difference. It's kind of irritating. And of course, I can't get it to run in anything but x1 windowed or 640x480 full screen, no matter what I do. This applies for both the official version and the patched version, mind you. Edit: Scratch what I said about not being able to get into 60FPS. I got it. Just had to set the Occupation to 1. Oops. Emulator still doesn't impress me, though.
