See now, I thought that was just 'cause I had stuff going on in the background... But it does seem to fix itself eventually. o_o

If I were to make a guess as to what kind of person Kato-Chan is based on this speedrun, I'd say he's a violent person with no need for money, has problems with the "feds", eats a lot of food , and enjoys kicking the crap out of everything within kicking range. As for Ken-Chan, he seems to enjoy just randomly popping up and occasionally throwing Coke cans at Kato-Chan. In any case, this is a very quirky game with a lot of humor. The run is pretty fun to watch.

Geeze Louise!! I've NEVER seen Chrono Trigger broken so badly! ...in fact, I can't think of any time I've ever seen Chrono Trigger break before. Nicely done! You ARE the master of time and space!

Well, I say this because I tried converting the Solar Jetman: Quest for the Golden Warpship run a while back and it simply DID NOT WANNA SYNCH after conversion. XD Ah well...

FCM -> FM2 Status: Fully Compatable! This movie can be converted to FM2 format and runs flawlessly in FCE Ultra X 2.0.0 Just thought I'd throw that in there.

I don't know if anyone mentioned this yet, but the link for the actual TAS version of the emulator is kinda broken right now... I was thinking I'd use it for making a Boss Run video of Mega Man and Mega Man 3 for my personal amusement, see... Anyway, just thought I'd mention it.

Anyone remember The Adventures of Bayou Billy/Mad City? That game had a trick to one of its themes as well where it'd play two notes REALLY REALLY close together and make it sound like two notes being played. Anyways...this game is pathetically easy and terribly short, but I like the whole "unit damaged" concept and wish more games did that. This TAS is pretty darn good, too.

Damn it. Such is the whims of upgrading at times, I suppose! Oh well... Guess I'll be making some new Boss Rush save states later on. Glad I didn't submit any recently! XD

I have a sole complaint about this new version of FCE Ultra which has nothing to do with tool-assisted speedrunning. (More or less.) And that is save states made in FCE Ultra 0.98.12 are incompatable with FCEUX 2.0.1! D: Completely different core or something, I guess... Any way I can fix this? I have a buttload of save states I'd like to not end up losing due to their being outdated. >_< Oh, and it opens ZIPs and lists the contents now. Including non-ROM files. But that can be fixed easily enough by re-ZIPping all my ROMs or unZIPping them and leaving 'em unZIPped.

Would it slow things down or speed things up any if you used both ToeJam AND Earl? I'd LOVE to see a two-player run, if only for the comedic value of the duo chatting with each other between levels. XD

AKA Contra Spirits, AKA Probotector 2. It's a Super Gameboy port of the original Super Famicom game by Factor 5. There's a few key differences between this version and the original game. For example... General - Things are all scaled down for the small screen. - Things move much slower. Especially the player. - The overhead levels don't allow you to duck down, making avoiding bullets very irritating at times. - All parts of a boss need to be destroyed before the usual "core" part can be attacked, just like in Operation C. Weapons - All guns fire much slower. Even tapping the fire button doesn't speed anything up. - Area Bombs make the screen flash once instead of having a unique explosion. You can only carry five at maximum as well. - The Barrier now damages enemies instead of immediately killing them. - The Spread Gun fires three projectiles instead of five. - The Homing Gun and Crusher (?) Gun have no unique projectiles. - The Flamethrower is WAY more powerful than ever! - No Laser Gun! Levels - Level 2 does not rotate and seems mostly intact, though the end boss is a bit different in that its pods rotate around its body, don't leave power-ups when destroyed. - Level 3's smaller robots before the main boss are gone. ( :( ) - Level 4 is missing completely, replaced by the alien hive overhead stage. Level 4's end boss is almost entirely different. It's kind of a rehash of Level 2's boss, but the pods aren't the thing you're firing at. Instead, it's four eyes. - Level 5 (the original's Level 6) is slightly different. You fight THREE Red Falcon Brood Queens, no Red Falcon Heart, the usual Red Falcon Visage (with different tactics), and no Red Falcon Core! ( :( #2.) And that's the last stage! Now, I haven't noticed any outright over-looked bugs (aside from the Flamethrower doing FULL DAMAGE at ANY range and a LOT of it!), but it could be an interest run all the same, I feel. What do you folks think?

Like I'm gonna say "No" to an improved run like this which retains the entertainment of the run before it while improving on the time. :3

Sounds logical to me! I see no reason why this run wouldn't be accepted, after all, so if it's accepted, well...there ya go!

As I sit here enjoying my grilled ham-and-cheese-on-wheat sandwich, I watch as Billy and Chin destroy everyone they come across. I see naturally-occurring glitches such as the spawn point in Italy. I awe as Chin wall-kicks his way to shaving seconds off the current existing time. And I enjoy this movie just as much as I enjoy my lunch. xipo, you have earned my respect. And my Yes vote. :3

Hm... A 100% run of the third, last, and BEST (in my opinion) of the "Red Arremaa"/"Gargoyle's Quest" games, eh? Let's have a looksie! Stage 0 - The Colosseum - No Comments Stage 1 - Chasm of Thorns - Seems you amused yourself (and the viewers) by dance-hopping to the music from time to time. I approve of this considering it wastes no time and is...well...AMUSING! Stage 2a - Demon Village Graveyard - Nice handling of Belth! Stage 2b - Demon Village Catacombs - Once again, I enjoy a good jig. :3 - Very nice handling of Ovununu, but is there a way to kill him closer to his slime hive, or would that have made any difference at all? - (Revisited) Would it have made much difference to return to the Ground Gargoyle form after bustering through to get the life-up, then changing back to Fire Firebrand and back to Ground Firebrand again on your way to the level's end? Stage 4 - Towers of the Wind - I'd say manipulating Arma as you did here was worth the "unoptimized" look, if you're absolutely positive there's no other way to get him to stay semi-grounded and over in the corner like that. - (Revisited) Way to squish that Flier demon bug thing! Stage 3a - Forest of the Leviathan - No comments. Stage 6a - Ice Palace Tower - Another Flier? I know Capcom gets lazy from time to time, but why not some sort of ice beast, or maybe a frozen skeleton knight to fight you here? :( - Pre-emptted strike! Eat that, Arma! XD Stage 6b - Frozen Valley of Death - No comment. Stage 1 - Valley of Thorns (Revisited) - No comment. Trio the Pago III - I'd say you finished that game in record time, myself. Stage 5a - Water Shrine Caverns - I don't think that Crawler much appreciated being RIPPED APART like that. XD Stage 5b - Water Shrine Depths - This level is pretty. - Holothurion is one ugly son-of-a-slug. I was pleased to see you put it down so easily. Stage 3b - Lair of the Leviathan - I remember Scula being considerably harder... Oh well! Stage 7 - Phalanx's Citadel - Well, if Capcom has something going for them, it's that they're not afraid to show a little BLOOD in their games. Or in this case, SEVERAL BLOODY IRON MAIDENS. WITH DEMONS INSIDE OF THEM. Right on! - Well, clearly Phalanx's Crest of Heaven is no match for your Crest of Time! 'nuff said THERE. Hidden Stage - The Final Stand-Off - Well...technically, it's not a 100% run without a trip to the Human Realm, but I honestly can't say I blame you for not fighting the Dark Demon and getting the alternate ending. He's a really...REALLY hard fight and would probably be frustrating to manipulate. >_< So...what can I say about this run that I haven't already? Well...not much. I can say that I'm casting my vote of Yes[/i], though. I'm not altogether sure if there's a GREAT DEAL of spots that can be optimized, so it looks pretty complete.

Incidently... "THE HIDDEN WORLDS" TRICK LIVES ON MWAHAHAHAH!! Okay, so anyway, I enjoyed this run and found the X-Ray Scope trick to be quite interesting! I'm not sure if anyone's going to find a way to squeeze MORE time out of this trick, but I'm sure we'll see people try! And I look forward to it. As for the issue of calling it a "glitched" run, it is indeed glitched because...well... Have you SEEN the video? The graphics screw up hugely! Plus, there's a number of thinks you're totally not supposed to do, such as hop OVER Mother Brain's chamber or destroy the final walls and whatnot with the default weapon. I guess basically, you could call ANY run where you do something you can't do without tool-assistence "glitched"... Hm... I can see where the debate lies now. "What IS 'glitched'?"

I had no problem patching MY ROM, either. The data matches up perfectly. But as I said, no matter what rerecord version of the emulator I use, the movie desynchs at "Shave!". It's the strangest thing ever...

I can confirm that the "start-reset-restart" thing works for foregoing the cutscenes. Rerecord v19.3 (and probably 19.2) support in-move resets. Now, can I get an answer to my question? D:

I totally, 100% could not get this movie to work in Re-Record v19.2, v19.3, OR v20.0. It did "Shave!" slowly and pittered out at "Lure!". I'm using the ROM "Wario Ware Twisted! With Tilt Hack.gba" which assigns the left and right D-Pad buttons to tilt and assigns B to boost the tilt speed. (Not sure the other buttons do much of anything.) Is it the ROM or the EMULATOR (or maybe even the emulator SETTINGS) that's screwy? Edit: blahblahmoo's patch on a fresh, unpatched ROM failed to work as well.

I'm getting frustrated with the board's search engine finding @#(* I'm looking for. Also, I thought I fixed that typo... Should be fixed now.

I'm sure thee's a good explaination as to why there's absolutely zero mention of a Super Mario Land 3: Wario Land TAS anywhere on the site, and I'd like to hear it to be honest, but that aside, I'd more like to see someone beat this game into a pulp! Who's hungry for a little Wario-tastic fun? Anyone?

Gentlemen and ladies! Would it be worth anyone's time to make a full all-masks speedrun of this awesome game? I'd like to see that, if it's worth making. (I would've made a new topic, but this one was already here, so...)
