I'm with Anon on this one. Why hasn't this movie been published yet? I mean, seriously. Zangief just entirely destroyed everyone under Saturn's control! If the computer was an 8-Star, then truly this "incarnation" of Zangief must be somewhere in the 20-star region! 30-star, even! (Obviously, I've voted Yes.)

Sorry to bump this after so long, but I just sort of stumbled over it in the "Submissions" dealie on the main part of the site. Now, I'll be brief. As stated in my Shinobi II thing, "This isn't played on the hardest mode. Using 00 Shurikens makes things harder." So. . .impress me. Play this game using 00 Shurikens. If I can beat Expert Mode using just the sword and jump-kicks(and the occasional Jitsu), you can damn well do it using Save States and other forms of manipulation, and do it fifty times more efficently than I can. =P

Alright. I give up. I can't find the correct version of the Super Mario World ROM anywhere and patching the version I have gives me the exact same version of Super Demo World as listed in the GoodTools dealie. . . A little help here? *goes to download the AVI for the time being* Edit: A-duh! I was trying to watch this movie using "Super Demo World". This movie is for Super Demo World: The Legend Continues"! God, do I ever feel stupid.

I'm not voting until I know for a fact that this is the absolute and utter best you can possibly do, Shinryuu. Don't push or strain yourself trying to come up with new ways to get things done, but progressively figure it out. Heh.

One word for this movie, or rather the subject of a movie based on this game. "Weak." Should This Movie Be Published?: Hell No. Reasoning for My Vote: As stated above, it's just like looking inside the mystery clue envelopes and saying "whodunit" from the start. Comments? Critique?: Pick a different game. One that's not so damned "two-button presses and you're done." Anything Else?: Read above. Also, I'm not officially voting as I haven't watched the video, but I know the game of Clue, and I already know this speedrun is going to be boring as all Hell.

Oh, that one. I'm quite familiar with that patch. . . I didn't like it that much. I do have to say, though, that the version I had didn't make Mario invincible.

. . . R.O.B. was an actual limited AI being?! That can't be right. . . No, that can't be right. How the. . . How the Hell. . . Okay, okay, what. . .exactly. . .did R.O.B. do? What was his function? Edit: Okay. I've found R.O.B./Family Robot information. It's not much, and I don't know how accurate it is, but here it is. . . http://www.gamersgraveyard.com/repository/nes/peripherals/rob.html

I've done a run of Mega Man: The Power Battles using Forte on the Rockman 7 path -- er, "Bass" on the "Mega Man 7" path -- on the hardest difficulty before. I could easily improve upon it, however, considering some of the knowledge I picked up just yesterday. I dunno if the Rockman 7 path is the hardest or not, but with the Crush Noise weapon, it's probably one of the shortest. . . Mwee hee hee. File Download: http://ironfeline.org/btime/NSStuff/megaman-bass-mm7_josephcollins-v2.zip (FinalBurn Alpha format) Edit: S'pose it would've helped had I actually linked to the file! *cough* In the future, I will do another run. Using the Player 2 side will save me time. Also, doing Junkman early on will save me time. Everything else would pretty much be the same. As for Rockman 2: The Power Fighters, we'll see. I was fiddling around with said game using Duo a while back but I forget how that went.

I would also like to hear a little about this version of Super Mario Bros.. I tend not to go patching my ROMs all willie-nillie until I know what something does.

Ah, Secret of Evermore. . . It's one of those really weird-ass games that you simply can't find anymore for less than $24.99.(Or sometimes $150.00, if you're a really greedy bastard.) Using the Seiken Densetsu 2(Secret of Mana) engine, Squaresoft USA was able to make this less-than-successful game a reality. As stated, in this game, you play the roles of a boy and his dog, both stranded in a very strange and varying world simply known as "Evermore". From prehistoric, to Egyptian, to Medivel, to the future, this game has a little bit of everything. . .and a whole lots of glitches. However, only a few of them have been exploited here. It should also be noted that for whatever reason, it is physically impossible to emulate the sound for this game correctly on any emulator, so if you think that the sound is a bit loud, long, or otherwise ugly. . .rest assuredly, it's nothing more than an emulation error. Or even quite possibly something involved with the ROM itself. Though I will admit, the actual cart is just as noisy, particularly when fighting Carltron at the end of the game. Can we say "instant headache"? Sheesh. . . But anyway, let's get into it. Unknown Location: The Beginning General Comments - No comments. Mini-Boss: Guard Bots - Nice, quick disposal of the guard robots. Bugmuck: Searching for Strongheart General Comments - Now that's effective use of the two-person party system. Nicely done, switching back and forth and using both members to attack and collect items, enter caves, etc. Oh, and run about. - Is it just me, or is this kid like a short and young version of Guybrush Threepwood? Heh. Mini-Boss: Raptors - Quick and easy disposal of the Raptors mini-boss proved useful in levelling up both The Boy and The Dog(Saturn and (the to-be-named)Nirvana). Boss: Thraxx - *laughs* Nicely done! Excellent use of the ol' 8x Alchemy glitch! XD Volcanoic Catacombs: Volcano is Cooling Down Rapidly General Comments - Again, excellent teamwork between The Boy and The Dog. - Also, nice work on getting Mud Peppers from the Viper Commander with no delay. Even if you did kill the ambience in the process. Oops. Mini-boss: Vipers and Viper Commander - Pretty damned effective method for scouting the area and beating the Vipers. Boss: Salabog - Could you possibly be any faster? Damn. Boss: Magmar - Whoa. Superb job on completely erraticating Magmar. Noblia: Reunite With Your Dog General Comments - What the Hell happened? One minute you're running through the desert. . .the next, you're in Noblia. Weird. . . - . . .what the Hell were you doing with that spider just outside of Noblia? No, seriously. I want to know what you spent, like, five minutes doing there. I don't get it, and it doesn't seem to be listed on this FAQ I have. It didn't look to me like you were levelling up anything, either. . . - Lemme guess. You saved your game and died to. . .enable one of those perma-status dealies. It didn't seem to work, though. But I could be wrong. - "I wonder if that rock will ever land?" Heh. I'm serious, Guybrush Threepwood must'a been inspiration for this kid. - Just so you know, the Silver Sheath is actually useless in this game. Due to a bug caused by complete and utter accident in testing, the Silver Sheath's effect is always in effect. Your swords are always powered-up. This was verified by the head programmer himself via the GameFAQs.com forums one day in 2004. But yeah, I know you said "every side-quest". So. . . Boss: Vigor the Indestructable - I see them. Do you? Yes indeed. I see Lock, Mog, Relm, Stragus, Tina, and what looks to be Umaro. And they're all under that tarp. They're the only ones not moving, too. How bizarre. - "And introducing the challenger. . . Some loser with a stick!" Hee hee hee. - Whoa. Apparently that perma-Atlus thing you did did work. Yow. . . Halls of Collosia/Great Pyramid: Treasure Hunting for Diamond Eyes General Comments - "Wow! It sure took a long time for that rock to fall!" Hee hee hee. . . I forgot why I loved this game so much back in the day. . . - Once again, you impress me with your extremely effective teamwork between The Boy and The Dog. - It's nice that The Dog can apparently walk on air, isn't it?(And actually, he can in Omnitopia if you use a "dog modifier" code, but that's beside the point.) - Same goes for The Boy being able to pass right through walls if he's far enough away. Hah! - Mini-Boss: Mini-Taur - Never stood a chance. Mini-Boss: Rouges - Also never stood a chance. Boss: Megataur - Took two(three) whole hits to take down. I bet you're lovin' that Atlus perma-stat by now. Heh. Mini-Boss: Sons of Anhur - What can I honestly say about these buggers? They died in one hit. Period. Boss: Eye of Rimsala - Do I really need to repeat myself? Boss: Aegis - Aww. . . I wanted to see you kick some Bad Dawg ass. Oh well. Horace's Encampment: The Undiscovered Territories of Evermore General Comments - Ooh. . . That fall down the waterfall had to hurt. Boss: Aquagoth - Playin' "Hard Ball" again, eh? Sorry, Aquagoth. Game called on account of electrical death! Heh. Ivor Tower South: The Exhibition, Pig Races, and the Banquet General Comments - Ahh. . .more trading game stuff. . . Fun. Not nearly as long, though, this time. - I have to admit. . . Watching The Dog in his poodle form from the side is really weird. Like he's trying to hump something or something. - Nice, quick work with the tunnels under Ivor Tower, dude. - Equally nice work on getting out of those sewers. Land of Gothica: Journey to Ebon Keep General Comments - Nice, quick, and pointed navigation of the Dark Forest. As quick as possible, anyway. - Is it just me, or are those armored porcupines possibly a reference to Sparkster, the Rocket Knight? Just a random thought. . . - Hey, look! It's Cecil Harvey! Or is it? He really doesn't look much like a Dark Knight or Paladin in this game. But if Square USA says it's Cecil, then by gum, it must be him. =P - Also, explain to me how Cecil could have possibly managed to have found a god damned Bazooka in "one of his travels". What? From Giott, maybe? I dunno. Additionally, if this world was made in the 1960s, how on Earth is Cecil there in the 1990s? Simple answer: Really bad writing and product placement. - "We've met evil twins everywhere we go!" Again, Square USA must'a gotten bored when they were writing this or something. Seriously. Heh. Boss: Footknight - DELETED! Mini-Boss: Bad Boys - SPEAR'D!! Boss: Timberdrake - BURNINATED!!! Boss: Verminator - You get the idea.(And actually, he was more "burninated" than Timberdrake, so. . .) Land of Gothica: Going Back to Ivor Tower General Comments - Since when does a telescope have a directional microphone attached to it. Particularly one crafted with medivel technology?? - One more unto the breach and into the sewers, eh? - Dayum! The Evil Queen must'a been one heavy load to do that much structural damage in such a short time. Mini-Boss: Stainglass Rouges, Vipers, and Satyrs - Much like all bosses to this point, these five critters never stood a chance. Boss: Sterling - Not much of a challenge by this point, dragon or not. Boss: Mungola - Wow. He's hardly the creature that exibitionist described, huh? All Over Evermore: One Way Flight to Omnitopia General Comments - How the Hell'd your Windwaker get from one place to another without you moving it? Yeesh. Square USA really didn't think this through. Boss: Coleoptera - What? Again? Square couldn't think of something else to jam in there? It had to be another giant bug? Meh. . . Mini-Boss: Tiny and the Oglins - "Oglins understand Tiny, so Tiny throw them at boy and dog." Pinhead. Heh. Omnitopia: Find Dr. Sidney Ruffleberg General Comments - I hated this place. Omnitopia sucks. On the bright side, you seem to have found ways to zoom through it in record time. Groovy stuff. - Why on Earth did you leave the lights on in the Greenhouse? Just to show off? :x - Mini-Boss: Faces - Pretty simple stuff, apparently. Nuked them in record time. And up until a couple days ago, I didn't even know about that room! Mini-Boss: Guard Bots - Reading this guide, I see that this dude wrote "HP: Not much" for their HP. Heh. That's cool. Kind of irrelivant, though, considering you never fought them. Ah well. Gothica Ravine: Retrieve the Energy Core General Comments - No comments here. Not much really happened during this part. But hey! We're gettin' to the home stretch, folks. . . Omnitopia: The Final Battle General Comments - The end of the movie should always be when you can no longer press a button to make something happen. The final conversation with Dr. Ruffleburg has such events. Therefore, this movie is technically incomplete. . . But only technically. Mini-Boss: Mecha Raptors, Mecha Dusters, Death Spiders, Rimsalas, Bad Boys and Dark Toasters - Talk about cleaning house. . . Man, none of these guys stood for longer than a few seconds. Boss: Metal Magmar - Magmar stood, but only just. Then again, he had a ton of Hit Points. Final Boss: Carltron's Robot - For being the final boss, he sure wasn't that tough. Should This Movie Be Published?: Yes. Reasoning for My Vote: As said above, this movie is technically incomplete seeing as the game still responds to button presses after the last battle. But then again, I think we can bend that rule a little considering all the rest of the interaction involves pressing one button, and it's not required. Otherwise, this is a pretty damned good 100%/Best Time run. Comments? Critique?: Nothing that I can think of. I didn't see you do anything wrong or anything that needs improving. Period. Anything Else?: This playthrough rocks. I might like to see a pure Speed Run, though. One that doesn't collect 100% of all items. Do I Type Too Much?: Yes! Yes I do! >_> <_<; [Edit by Bisqwit: Made font size relative]

Let's run through this stage by stage, shall we? Stage 1 - Flawless. I can't see any room for improvement here. There was never an instance where you stopped running, and not a shot was wasted as far as I can tell. Stage 1 Boss - Again, flawless. Stage 2 - Creative use of temporary invounerability during the first drop area. Nicely done. - I saw some slowdown on your part taking out one of those hovering tank things after the second elevator. It looks to me like you could've jumped over the second one just as easily. - I dunno about that damage you hopping up those stairs shortly after, either. . . You could've made a brief turn and opened fire on the gun thing with three barrels on its turret. . . I think. Stage 2 Boss - Effective dispatch of the war machine. Stage 3 - I saw a brief delay at the beginning of the first area here. Then again, it was probably better than taking damage and giving yourself another half-second of delay. - Near the end of the stage(before the last lift), I notice you took a little extra time between shots against the big robot thing.(Like, it took twice as long to take down.) Why? - I also notice in the area after that, there's a bit of game lag. Not your fault, but you could perhaps have tried harder to rectify that by nuking more enemies? Stage 3 Boss - How do you defeat a giant computer core with laser beams and turrets? Why, ten easy rockets to the glass-covered "brain," of course! Done flawlessly. Stage 4 - Was it really necessary to take the damage from that second spikey obstacle? Looked like a clear path from then on, to me. . . - Same question goes towards the second "weight" on the next floor down. . . You could've just as easily turned around and opened fire on that blue thingy, I would figure. In fact, you do on the blue thingy near the tall robot. . . - Next floor up, again you take what looks like an unnecessary hit from one of those spikey platform obstacles. Stage 4 Boss - No real complaints here. . . But my question is this. Do both the rockets you fire actually do damage, or just one? If just one does damage, then you're wasting Gun Power which, in the end, costs you more time after the level. Otherwise, nine hits? That's an odd number.(Literally.) Final Stage - Auto-scroll stages suck.(Not a critique, just a comment.) - Interesting use of collision detection bugs to show off. Also good job on completely bypassing the upward crusher things.(The ones that would shove you into the electrical fields in the ceiling.) Final Stage Boss - Don'cha just hate it when bosses are auto-scroll styled, too?! - I noticed you were able to get three hits with the Rocket Launcher in one of the jumps at the back of the ship. If you could do this on a regular basis, you'd save yourself a lot more time. Final Stage Final Boss - No comments. Should This Movie Be Published?: No. Reasoning for My Vote: Well. . . This is an improvement on Dan's work, sure. But there's a lot of places that could use improvement. I'm certain with a little more practice and timing, you(or someone else) could widdle this thing down to maybe 10:20. Possibly even 10:00 flat. But don't quote me on that. Comments? Critique?: As I said, you were able to get three hits on occasion. If you could do that on every boss/enemy/whatever, you could cut down on a bit of time. More so. Anything Else?: Nicely done, but I dunno. I wasn't terribly impressed by it, even in contrast to Dan's run.

New glitch I found. Could be helpful. . . Definately harmful. . . Pause just before the room shifts over to black. If you do, the boss graphics will be really screwed-up, but. . .you actually can wander around in the level. The boss has a "clipping radius," however. If it gets too far off-screen, it'll warp on over to the other side of the screen, thus making it very very deadly. Uses for This Trick: To lock the boss in place, block some of the boss' shots, and things like that. If, for some reason, you feel compelled to work your way back outside, however, you can also run around the levels with the boss theme blaring. Side-Effects: You can't see where you're going outside of the boss room due to the fact that, apparently, bosses use the room's palette as well as its tiles(in-memory). However, if you pause and unpause, for a couple frames, you can see the path. Also note, you still have to walk back to the boss room to collect your part. Works in MetaFight?: Yes. Works in Blaster Master?: I would think so.

Since we're on the topic. . . Step 1: Go to the World of Ruin Colloseum Step 2: Use Tina(Terra) and bet a dummied item by the name of "daakumataa"(Dark Matter) which is only accessable via hex editing and/or cheat codes. I forget the specific hex code. Step 3: "Kurisutaraa"("Crystal Tara"/"Crystal Monster"/"Culex") will step up to the challenge, as you can see. He's a tough bugger. About as tough as he is in his Super Mario RPG, if not more. If you win, however, you get the Kurisutaraa Phantom Beast(Esper). Its signature move is "Shining Darkness" which does Holy and Dark damage to all enemies in the battle.(Supposedly. It seems to do normal damage, to me.) Note: Does not work in the US release. Only in the Japanese v1.0 release.

This is one of those extremely obscure gems that no one ever remembers. Chakan: The Forever Man plays a lot like a supernatural mix of X-Men(MegaDrive) and Rastan SagaArcade, C64, and Game Gear/Master System), but with a small inventory/alchemy system to boot. As aforementioned, you play Chakan, "the Forever Man," in his forced quest to destroy all the evil that lives in the underworld so that he may finally come to rest himself. By default, Chakan has twin blades at his side, but eventually you can get other weapons such as a battle axe, scythe, or even a grappling hook. He can also use the aforementioned alchemy to enhance his weaponry with elemental traits for a brief spell, not to mention do various other tasks.(Heal, high jump, invisibility, etc.) All and all, this game was a pain in the arse, but for what it's worth, the game was also quite fun to fool around with. Chances are, much like X-Men, it also has bugs you can exploit.

Things really aren't going well. With the limited resources I have(SuGAR, DGen, and GENS), I don't think I'm going to be able to find the proper line(s) of code to enable me to make an Action Replay code(and in turn, a ROM hack). If I had something to go on. . . Any small trace. . . A value of some sort to go by. The initial value of the Game Select counter. It doesn't seem to be 0 like you'd figure. . .(IE like Capcom does in their fighting games and whatnot. Which is how I found the hex code to play as Shin Gouki in the Super Famicom version of Street Fighter Zero 2, actually. . .) I dunno. . . In the meantime, however! Nightmare Zero has indirectly provided me with the path to Wily Tower in both Rockman MegaWorld and Mega Man: The Wily Wars. Through his program, Save State Master v9.0, I made this bugger. This will plop you right on the Stage Select screen of Wily Tower after a brief black screen intro(caused by a game over, which was a necessary thing to do to get this). As stated, this save state is for Rockman Megaworld only. Make a new one for The Wily Wars with the aforementioned program, if you want a Wily Wars one. =P Edit: And please. Seriously. Don't credit me or Auto. As it turns out, Auto handed the file to me a long time ago, but there's a good chance that Nightmare Zero handed it to him in the first place. If anyone deserves credit around here, it's him. Had I known that at the time, I wouldn't've sent the file off to Zophar's Domain. Edit 2: No wonder no one's said anything since I posted that. . . The URL was busted. Well, it's been changed to a correct URL, now. Specifically: http://ironfeline.org/btime/NSStuff/RMWTower.zip

I don't believe you held the TSC record for Death Egg in Sonic 2. (And if you were tied for first I don't believe you were the first to achieve that time.)
I was. My record was, if I'm not mistaken, 0:49. My recorded record, however, was indeed 0:52 or 0:51. It's true that screenshots can easily be faked, but I legitimately achieved that time of 0:49 by doing "the 12-hit strategy," but managing to only land 11 at first.(Ironically, it might have very well been because I was using Miles instead of Sonic.) If it had been beaten after January or so, I was unaware.
A 12 hit strategy was first discovered on February 9th.
Publically, perhaps. But I'd been able to achieve this through Save States at the beginning of the year, but seeing as it was with Save States, that would not have been a legitimate record.
Using Tails would have made a number of time saving exploits impossible, for example, breaking a block with Tails in Hill Top Zone, and stacking spindashes in Metropolis Zone for quicker rides up the screws.
This is true.
It's been stated somewhere that the goal of this movie was to minimize the level times and not worry about the bonuses.
You are quite a bit more attentive than Joseph Collins seeing as how that was mentioned a mere 5 posts above his own, on the same page.
Bite me. I don't generally read older posts if I have something to say.

Damn. Someone beat my Death Egg Zone time, finally. That's kind of depressing, but now I have a new goal. Trying to match that time legitimately to I can plug it in as a record time at TSC. >_> <_<; Also, he should be glad he didn't end up defeating Silver Sonic on the frame right where he goes from buzzsawing to jet-dashing. That's a fun glitch to play with, but it would've destroyed a lot of work. Lastly, I still say he should've used Miles. Miles has a smaller collision box, which is most notably exploited in the fight with Silver Sonic.(Miles can duck down in the lower right-hand corner, avoiding Silver Sonic's buzzsaw completely, then instantly start Super Spin Dashing when he's vounerable. Sonic and Knuckles can't.) Edit: Ah hah! A mistake! See. . .okay. If you clear a level in under 30 seconds, you get 50,000 points. However, if you clear it in over 31 and under a minute, you get only 10,000. It might be worth your time(literally) if, in Acts/Zones where you get to the end in under twenty seconds or so, you wait out the extra seconds. Casino Night 1, Mystic Caves 1, Oil Ocean 1 are zones where you end up wasting time by cutting it too close to thirty seconds. Emerald Hill Act 1 and Aquatic Ruin Act 1, and possibly Chemical Plant 1 are fine, though. Trust me. In some cases, getting the added bonus just is not worth the extra ten-to-twelve seconds it takes to add up the score and give you a continue. . . You can probably shave a good minute(or possibly more) off your time by doing this. Because of this obvious mistake, I would've voted "No" on this movie. But I'm a hair too late for that. :x

Hm. Interesting. . . My Vote: Yes. Reasons: Much like someone else's "Shadow Dancer" run, this makes a few tiny mistakes here and there, but nothing unforgivable. Plus, it improves on the original time, so. . . Advice: Never eat anything blue.

That's because I'm trying to clear out all the old stuff that isn't locked. Page 3 was clear for about two submissions or so. . . And since no one's told me to knock it off. . . ^_^;

I'll be brief. My Vote: No. Reasons: Because the entirity-run, as FODA said, is more than enough to obsolete this one-track run. Advice: Never eat raspberries.

I'm feeling a bit sickly today. . . I also didn't really notice anything worth heavily commenting on, so. . . My Vote: Yes. Reasons: 'cause this seems pretty damned flawless to me. Plus, this is one of the few "kiddie" games that I loved playing in my youth. Advice: "M-I-C. . . See ya real soon! K-E-Y. . . Why? 'cause we gotta! M-O-U-S-E. . ." "Erronius. Much like that rendition. Hah."

Nicely done, but I dunno. . . I think the enemies could've been manipulated a little better, too. You jump through one dragon, and get mauled by another, it seems. Same goes for a lot of other enemies, too. . . My Vote: No. Reasons: The enemies could've been better-manipulated. But otherwise, this is a decent speed run. Advice: Save States are your friend. Even more than you know. Heh.
