I don't think 'paralyze' shows 'poorly', since it just has a slight chance of not attacking, .. I've beat the elite four with paralysed pokemons before, and much lower than 9 levels behind, my lv46 Kingler and lv49 Golduck could take out dragons and even a lv 65 Charizard in the end (I don't really remember what I used against Lorelei that time but) ..
I prefer 'I used WIN' because of the details too, it's a Taillow, it's paralysed, and the player's using him to fight the rival's main pokemon, and it was really about WIN when this one Taillow became a Swellow and was pratically the only pokemon used to fight all the battles, .. it was unexpected when I started watching the run, and I don't think the 'merits of the TAS' should be spoiled, .. and 'tas phrases' just don't look appealing enough, and it's saying it's a 'little tas'..
I don't know if people see Taillow as a 'weak catchable bird you can find on the first routes and will probably never use in a battle' pokemon, but.. he gets to be the main character, when it comes to fighting for the badges and the champion title, and .. people would just get to the thought 'How can he use WIN? WTF is that?' WTF phrases are appealing. I saw many NES TASes I never played and would never watch if it wasn't for the WTF phrase in the description, or the screenshot =P
Plus he doesn't get cured even once in the entire run, and he has enough PP for every move he needs.. XD
I think it's more of a feel than a thought, maybe the screenshot doesn't affect all people the same way, but.. if there is a feel, there is a movie, and there is epicness, ... I guess =P
