Game locks up in every version of SNES9x I've tried. Doesn't get past the title screen. Oops. -.-

Yays, I got stuff working. Watched both movies, gonna be voting yes for both, liked this one MUCH more just for the added variety. Sliding made for random fun at points. I've played both games and know just how hard they are and how hellish the jumping is in them. Quite unforgiving. Plus I just like that everyone is skipping heartily everywhere they go. >>v

Can't watch either since the game bitches about needing some random pak. Either rumble, save, or expansion, I'm not gonna open that awful emulator again to look. As it is, I have to load the rom, alt-tab away and alt-tab back just so I regain control over the damn thing's menu. /r solution -.-

That's the trouble with the GB CV games, sadly. The Belmonts have all been horribly drugged so as to move at such a slow pace, it's almost like they don't even WANT to stop evil. Still, I'll be watching. >>

*whistles* Man. The list of stuff this thing needs is massive if it wants to even get to PJ64's level. x.x; At least PJ doesn't totally hijack my PC to the point where I have to use ctrl-alt-del to close it. The N64 should not be this impossible to make an emulator for. >< Looks like anything made on this one, I'll just hafta wait for AVI versions of. Bleh.

Oh, rock on. After a piss-poor night of sleep, this is definitely a GOOD way to get the day started! Cheers, lads. This one's been on my wish list for a long time now.

From someone who's played all the oldschool JP games (and sucked at 'em all! :D) this definitely gave me a few good laughs. The raptor is completely unwieldy, so seeing a run in under 3 minutes is REALLY good. Well done - voting yes!

Beat EXE1 for the first time in ages. Had to look at a guide AND a map for the Power Plant. But at least I finally 'got' it. It clicked this time around. c.c ...Man, I didn't think the game was so short. I've only beaten it once before - around when it originally came out, so my memory of it was blank. Given that I'm all hyped up for my impending visual guide for EXE6 on another website I'm staff on, I've been going back to the EXE games and playing again. ...Er... The GOOD ones. I can't help wanting to go into EXE1 again and finagle with manipulation. Would it be theoretically possible to start each battle with a PA loaded in the Custom Window? How well/easy is preventing random encounters? Etc etc etc. I dunno, I doubt I'll come up with anything decent as far as info goes. If anything, I'll just make some simple video walkthroughs for the other site. x.x; I'd still manipulate and rerecord to get things to go my way, but I wouldn't be striving for absolute perfection like I'd expect to see in an EXE TAS.

Seriously, what the hell's going on here? Why is crap from September of LAST YEAR still in it? Why has it not been shortened and cleaned up? Is there ANY logical reason for why it's so damn long? Either start watching and/or publishing the runs people have voted strongly for or just get rid of the blasted things altogether. There's over EIGHTY RUNS in it, for god's sake.

Oh, come on. Paper Mario, ya heathens! Pokemon Snap CAN'T be run, as there's a graphical glitch that prevents photos from being seen. Technically you can advance, but it's kinda hard to when it's impossible to see what photos you're taking. I suppose this could be dealt with with slowdown, but still. As for what I'd personally like seeing... I'm all for both Goemon games (I Am Impact still kicks ass) Banjo Kazooie AND Tooie (despite the later having a frame rate sorry enough to make Superman 64 blush) ... Superman 64. >.> C'mon! Someone has to! Nmaa~...I'm not really up for Goldeneye and Perfect Dark runs, despite loving both games back in the day. I dunno, it's kinda hard to THAT great on an FPS. Someone, by all means, prove me wrong. Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask have become ridiculously boring to me, though I WOULD sit up and pay notice to a Master Quest run. I'm sure someone in the chat mentioned finding a working rom for it, so it exists somewhere out there. Pilotwings deserves it, just because it's Pilotwings. Bomberman games... I'd suggest the San Fransisco Rush series, getting all ...whatever-you-collected... but NONE of the three games emulates right in PJ64. ;_; Excitebike 64 does, however, if anyone ever wanted to give that a run. I'm up for the Tony Hawk games, too. I know the first emulates properly, as I grabbed and tested it this morning, (And I would've kept it if PJ accepted my button config... >< Despite setting it, it forced them onto the right analog. Ever try dual analogging Tony Hawk?) but I can't speak for the other(s) on the system. Quest 64 cannot physically be made interesting, no matter what. >.> Donkey Kong 64 needs one. The damn wasn't that great, but it was still pretty. I also wouldn't mind seeing some of those great old wrestling games get run. Y'know, just for fun's sake. Same reason I think Smash Brothers runs would be amusing. Mischief Makers certainly deserves it. The Army Men games, while awful, would fall under the "Bad game looks cool when played well" category. Gex, anyone? Resident Evil 2, maybe? Shadows of the Empire! So many games... But, as with the GBA, probably not a whole lot of interest. :/ As a side note, anyone who runs the Extreme G games will get cookies. ...And anyone, ANYONE, who runs a South Park game (Be it the FPS or the weird and awful racer) gets their own frigin' bronze statue for guts.

I sense a spoiled little rich kid whose mummy and daddy always gave him everything he wanted. Hey, chief, this ain't your home and we ain't your parents. Do it your own damn self or go the hell away.

"I don't like to read! I don't want to get a rom! I don't like FOOD anymore!" Stop your damn whining. What are you doing on the internet if you don't like to read? Do you have a text to speech program that reads things to you? Moreover, why the hell are you caring about a TAS to an RPG? Those have LOTS of text. And we'd sure hate to force you to look at words and such. Got news for ya, son - We aren't here to cater to your every demand. If you don't like how things are run, then go the hell away. Trust me, no one will miss you.

Natural yes. You blew my time outta the water and I couldn't be happier about it. I'm glad the game got a proper TAS. Commenting on the caves+ stuff here, since I've been commenting on the WIP in the GBA thread: Loved the yellow room ownage in 4-3. Haaaated that room. 'Course, I hated everything I needed to crawl in. Ugh. There's just no way to get in or out of a crawlspace ledge well. Much amusement on the vampire fight. Lasers suck, huh? They're pretty bad lasers, though, given how soon you can safely go through the dumb things. >>; MUCH more fun on the final boss. Especially dancing with the dragons. And I loved the zippo-climb to the detonator in the escape level. Thumbs up, chief. Kicked some ass.

I think the biggest issue I have with this run are the indoor areas. I'm fairly familiar with the game and I know that moving inside is a pain in the ass. That being said, I think indoor areas are one of the times when something like frame advance should be taken into account, as it would allow very precise movement. Since the outdoor areas are much more open, regular slowdown playing would probably be fine for that. As for ammo, if you ever decide to redo the run, I feel you should do more testing to see if you can get an exact amount of ammo per pickup. If it gives the same amount every time, you can better plan when you'll need more of it. If it's random, optimize for the most ammo it CAN give and go from there. The route was pretty good, and I can't really find any faults in it. I think it would be best not to shoot at random, though (like to mock Tim -- man, I don't remember those gigantic cards popping up so often...) since it would help later on, when you need ammo and don't have it. A good first try, though. With a little practice, I'm sure you could get really good at this stuff. Lord knows it isn't the easiest hobby to slip into.

Adequate title, since the game's painful to play. Half of it's the lack of radar. Half of it's the ridiculously awful and loose controls. I imagine it could be made perfect and damageless in a TAS, but... when you get randomly shot from someone and you don't know where that someone is, that's some annoying crap right there. Anyone anymore familiar with this game than I am? ><

I did indeed notice the delay cancellation. As for the shuriken horizontal boost, you have to hit it at JUST the right moment or it won't do it right. Heading into the top of Ninja Joe's jump, hit the attack button. If you slow my run down, you can probably see where I hit the button. I tried not doing it much, though, as it just looked tacky. :/ That's one of the troubles with NF-O. You can pull off impressive as hell swing moves, but Joe's a useless tub o' crap on land. >>;; And yes, 2-2 sucks. A lot. Wait for the caves. Ugh. Anyway, I wish you best of luck and hope you can bring the time to under 20 minutes. The way you're going, I'd say you're gonna get WELL under. I'd try, but honestly, my love for the game died somewhere towards the Base levels. >< The game drove me nutty. Just remember: If you need to jump really high, make your chain short as possible. The physics behind this baffle the crap out of me to this day. c.c; [Edit: Just watched the updated version. Good stuff on 2-2. Waiting on those effin' flamethrowers cost me a lot of time. You hate the walljumping yet? Or those damned frogs? Get used to tiny enemies coming at you at annoying times. Stupid bats... ><] [Edit 2: Gah. I just watched the up-to-3-1 one earlier. *wags fist* Anyway... what's the final time estimated to be, chief? o.o]

Awful lotta swordjumpin' there. >>; Also, why did you get the shuriken powerup in 1-3 the way you did? You backtracked over to one dude on the lighting THEN went right and into the blue door. Why not get it on your way back and make it flow smoother? While I'm all for seeing someone whomp my time, I'd rather be out-styled. c.c Maybe I should try for a proper v2 after all.

Still pushing for someone to do Advance Wars. Both. If it'll help anyone, these are more useful than Gamefaqs' stuff: http://www.awrevival.netfirms.com Though I've tested these and... I dunno. Some maps work fine, some don't. Maybe he used a different version and the AI is tweaked between them, I dunno. I have the (U) rom, if it matters.

*adds Advance Wars games in there* >< Normal (and Hard?) Campaign. S-Ranked. 300 points. For all levels. Of course, the battle animation would be turned off. But making the enemy AI work with you is hard enough. I've spent the last few days trying to get through 2 on normal. Trust me, I know. >< Reason I think both campaign modes should be run is because Hard is MUCH tougher than normal. I suppose it depends on the final time of running Normal. The game's about as fast as any other turn-based strategy game when the animation's off. With smarter AI than Fire Emblem's. x.x;

Just played Sonic Advance 2. Y'know, while the GBA games have good speed and stylish jump possibilities... they all tank. Hard. I dunno what it is, I can't quite put my finger on it, but there's a distinct lack of oldschool charm to them. I can't force myself to play any of them for very long. Maybe it's the ugly Sonic redesign sprites, I dunno. That all being said, I'd still like seeing them TAS'd. If you get a smooth route and can incorporate rail and ramp jumps for good, stylish effect, then I'm sure they'd be some of the best movies on the site. c.c

First: http://tartarus.rpgclassics.com/staff/ss2/index.shtml For in-depth information. Second: If I ever get off my ass and do a second TAS, it'll be to this game. Shining Soul 2 is one of my favorite games of all time. Third: We've got some crunching to do here before I even think about a serious attempt at running the game. What stuff? Well... 1) First and foremost, which character would work best for a TAS? 2) What weapons/armor should I use? 3) What items should I take along? 4) What kind of things should I manipulate for (by way of enemy drops)? 5) What soul(s) would be best to use in any given situation? 6) Should I do Advance Mode, too? It'd be impressive to low-level it. And tons of other things. For instance: Should I do Grandma Colita's Well for my first summon, or should I go to the Collosseum and get Oblivion? Obviously, Oblivion is faster (and cooler) - but the Well would give me EXP that I'm going to definitely need. RPG Classics lists the "needs to kill" monster in each board, which definitely helps. Go to that monster, kill it, and the path to the next area opens. Simple and clean. It also lists drop items and crap for monsters. I know certain monsters drop Summons - theoretically, it's possible to get a Level V summon before the end of the game, but the question is - would the time wasted by collecting and fusing be made up in fast boss destruction and such? Strong summons can make a load of difference, especially early on. In addition to all this, what ores should be manipulated to get dropped and what schwag should be aimed for via forging? Manipulating the smithy is easy enough. Manipulating for the ore itself, on the other hand, is not. So... if anyone else knows the game fairly well, join in. The quicker I get info collected, the sooner I can make some attempts. [Edit: Okay, it's been decided. Without a doubt, the Ninja would be the fastest to use. Why? Two main reasons (taken from GameFAQs): Speed: 8 SP to start, +4 per level. Optional. It lasts about 1 minute at all charge levels. Your movement speed increases with each additional charge level. This spell does not affect attack rate. Backstab: Passive. This skill increases your final damage by 1/3 of your base damage per skill level when you strike an enemy from behind. Maxed out, you do ~3.33 times your normal damage when striking from behind. There's a simple trick to take advantage of this skill in solo, simply charge up the sword attack, and then face away from the enemies before using it. As you back into them, they will technically be facing 'away' from you, even though they are actually behind you. This tricks the game into giving you the damage bonus. The sword's attack doesn't have as much range in the back, so this is a tricky method, but the damage bonus works against any enemy. That speed boost is definitely the way to go. In fact, pretty much all level-up upgrades should probably be split between Sword and Speed, with the occasional bone thrown to Backstab. Backstab was included because it'd make boss fights faster. In theory, anyway. And, depending on whether the naming codes in the (U) version are allowed (http://tartarus.rpgclassics.com/staff/ss2/secrets.shtml) I'll be getting the Dream Hat. This gives a Walking Speed +20 and SP Recovery Rate +1 bonus. Needless to say, this would be a pretty huge boon to the cause, since not only would you be moving faster than normal between Speed charges, your SP would also recover faster, which is DEFINITELY a good thing, since Speed burns through a massive CHUNK of it. Slight update: Bis thinks the naming thing is alright, but suggested that I ask other folks who know the game better on what degree of cheating this kind of thing is. So... I'm asking. What do you lot think? Should the naming code be allowed or not?]
