As far as I know, there is not yet a N64 emulator that can play this game perfectly, nor well enough to make it interesting. I have problems when I play it. For one, the background and foreground and all of the surroundings seem to disappear off the face of the emulator, making you have to find out which way you can go. It's a really bad glitch in the emulators. And Mupen absolutely refuses to play the game at all.. Might be a while before we can actually see a TAS for this game.

100% is everything in this game. Collecting all of the Heart Containers and Weapons, Skulltulas, getting Epona, everything. Actually, getting Epona as soon as you can, will shorten the time significantly, since Epona carries you much faster around Hyrule, causing maybe a sub 4-5 hour run, rather than 4-6. But anyway. That would probably take a bit of time anyway, so..A normal run will suffice.

A 100% run of this game is probably possible in sub 4-6 hours of play I think. I know on Speed Demos Archive there is a 100% Majora's Mask run that is 6:55. I think Ocarina of Time can be done faster than that at 100%, seeing as how you can save the game and quit anywhere, and go back to either Link's Home(Past) or Temple of Time(Future) when you restart. I think that is the only reason that 100% Majora's Mask run took so long, because you can't save at will, and restart at an earlier location. Well, anyway. That's all I need to say on that. I'm getting a new Video Game controller for my computer. Might try my hand at a Any Star Run of Super Mario 64 soon.

So. Someone is actually planning a 70-120 star run for this game now I take it? I can get at least 70 stars, but I don't think my skill in the game would be very, well...Satisfactory. Not to mention my controller has gone on the fritz, so I can hardly play with an emulator anymore.. -Sigh.- I'll need to get a brand new one...Again... I can't believe there's finally an N64 emulator with re-recording now, didn't think it was too far off. Well, anyway. Good luck!

If you're worried about leveling up, fight the Lavos Spawn that appear on the Mountain where you go to get Crono back. They should give some good experience, and some level ups if your levels are still fairly low. And the only thing that comes up when I try to Save As, is a HTML Document, so..

Does this mean you are indeed getting Crono Back even though it will take a little time? If you're going for the Swallow, I assume Crono will be back by the end of the game. ;3

Well. Mostly what I define as 100%, is bringing Crono back to life. Just doesn't seem very..Accomplished if Crono isn't in the final battle. Well, doesn't feel like it to me anyway. And I must say, going through roughly 20%-40% of the game in such a short time is very impressive. Well, anyway. I'm going to bed now. Zzzzz.

Is this a 100% run of the game? The last Chrono Trigger run I downloaded, which wasn't Saturn's at all, was a big disappointment to me. Got it off of the Speed Demos Archive.. Well, anyway. I'll download the WIP, hehe. A 100%, new game + run with maxed out characters might be interesting to see in the future, yes? ;3

Thanks! ^^ If all goes well with Bulbasaur, I'll make a Movie of it once I get good enough. I'll try it with only Bulbasaur and Squirtle, since Charmander would just be a really bad choice due to the first two gyms. I'm going to watch the Pokémon Blue run now, hehe. Finally got a good MKV Player. ;3

Does the starter Pokémon ever get unruly? Cause..It doesn't seem like it does. I was thinking about trying a game using Bulbasaur as my Starter. I'll be checking back here every so often for an answer, hehe. ;3

I noticed the internal clock stays the same on the VBA Emulator if you speed up the frames as well. I used to do that just to make eggs hatch faster. :3 So it indeed stays the same no matter what.

Well, I'm not REALLY going to go for the fastest time possible. I know the game well, but not THAT well, only been playing it for ten or so years. ;3 I'd rather give people a time to beat if they want to, heh. Besides. Even with Skip Sandwiches and avoiding all unecessary fighting, I doubt the game could be beaten in less than five to ten hours. I'll also probably buy the Bazooka for Jeff seeing as how I'll probably have enough cash without avoiding fights. :3 Well, that's all I gotta say. -Goes to watch DragonBall Z.- n.n

I wish there was an N64 Emulator with Movie Options, that would be cool.. But, Project 64 is the best N64 Emulator I've used so far. Going to try out the 1964 Emulator.

Yes, well. If I'm going to do the run, I'll be doing it my own way. I'm sick of RPG Runs where people skip most of the fighting. Plus, with EarthBound, skipping all unnecessary fighting will put my party at great disadvantages. And without PSI Paralysis to use against Mondo Mole in Happy Happy Village Cave, the hopes of beating him are slim due to his high attack power. Fighting every battle will have great benefits. I'll be at a minimal level, but strong enough to beat Bosses. Plus, it will also help the Money Situation some. It's not like I'll be sticking around one area fighting for over an hour, that would ruin the whole run. Any fights I come across, I'll probably complete. It will ensure I am able to buy plenty of Multi Bottle Rockets for Jeff, which I will probably fill up his inventory with, and possibly Poo's. That way once I'm able to buy them, I won't need to buy anymore for the rest of the game. Multi Bottle Rockets are the strongest weapon in the game basically, I haven't seen anything else that could do more than two thousand damage to a single enemy. Well, anyway, as I've said before, you know what to expect from my run.

Indeed. Or just try to run away from them if I meet up with em. Of course, if I have PSI Lifeup, they won't be much of a problem. Would just have to keep an eye on the Psychic Points while using it. I'll probably rely heavily on PSI Attacks if I do the run, seeing as how I don't plan to buy them better weapons. Maybe just Armor. Buying new weapons would just be a waste of time with Paula, seeing as how her Psychic Attacks do more damage. Well, if you'll excuse me now, I'm going to go take a shower, hehe. ;3

Manipulating that in later battles though, is another story. After all of the aliens invade Onett, you run into at least one Ghost of Starman each fight most of the time. At least I think it's Ghost of Starman, I'm sure of it.. They use PSI StarStorm. And anyone who's played the game knows that PSI can devestate your party. I plan to fight every battle I get into, so that my Levels should be fairly decent upon reaching Giygas. And if Manipulating strong or SMAAASH!! attacks proves useful, it will speed things up quite a bit. So now you know what to expect if I do the run. ;3

And I was wondering if someone would be willing to send me the Patched game. I must be doing something wrong, because I can't get the patched game to work..

I take it someone is doing a 100% run for this game? I say good! I'd like to see one. ;3

That's not exactly true. Speed is an essential stat for Paula. As is PP, since her Psychic Powers tend to cost a bit. And trying to manipulate Prayers could be pretty dangerous, since there are some prayers that can knock your whole party out, put them to sleep, diamondize them, etc. I plan to try and at least have Ness have PSI Paralysis before facing Mondo Mole if I do a run. Mondo Mole in the Happy Happy Village Cave is a real pain in the rear, cause it has high Attack Power. But if I can paralyze the bugger, he won't last very long. Plus, I plan for Paula to at least PSI Shield Sigma, seeing as how that will protect the Party from PSI Attacks in later battles. There is a lot of planning to be put into an EarthBound run, considering how long the game is, and how hard it would be to speed run. Ness would definately be the heaviest hitter either way in the run, considering you can manipulate levels to increase his attack power.

Don't worry about it a whole lot. I'm still thinking on doing the tas for EarthBound. My Childhood was spent playing that game mostly, well, from age ten anyway, I'm 22 now. ;3 All I know really, is that I've owned the game for at least ten years now, hehe. I've been using some information on the battle manipulation, and finding it rather...Intriguing. Depending on what you do, your Battle Turn could come first, you could SMAAASH!!, or you could do extra Damage. My gosh, I actually manipulated my first battle, got a SMAAASH!!, and Leveled up, but got a 6 offense boost. I never got that much before. Not even in ONE of the higher levels. So, depending on how well I can manipulate, I could end up with a super high Offense for each character. Culden has agreed to help out by doing a new, 100% run, and telling me how to manipulate how things drop hopefully. If Possible, I will get The Sword Of Kings in my tas. But for now, I'm just going to enjoy playing the game through a few times.

I'll probably consider doing the run again once things in my life stop being such a pain. Just need some time..
