Granted, all systems have a lot more bad games than good games, but the Wii takes the prized Golden Turd for pure amount of shovelware, followed oh so closely by the DS. Casual games are one thing, but both systems have so many truly bad games it's not even funny.
I wouldn't really know. I've never had what people could call an extensive game library. Honestly, between all of my PC and Console Games, I'm lucky if I have over 100 games in the last 20 years. I have to save up for everything I want. And I only make $190 a month. Add that up and I can't afford much.

If the limitation on controllers is from the console streaming the pixels to display to the controller, then the only way dumbing down graphics would get you more controllers is by reducing the resolution for each controller, which would look terrible. The controllers are evidently not smart (or else they alone would cost as much as a DS). I do agree that it's disappointing that they're saying only one controller per system. Asymmetrical information display can make for much more interesting gaming, but it'd be better if everyone had access to the "same" asymmetrical information -- as it is, this seems more limited to one player in a special super-informed role, and everyone else working against or under the guidance of that one player. As for selling the system or controllers at a loss, I'd be very surprised if they did that, since they never have before.
Only being able to use one controller at a time isn't a big deal for me. I'm the only Gamer in my house. Only game my Brother ever plays is Guild Wars. So...Yea. I don't really have other people to play with at home. So this System is good for me.

I'm not particularly pro- or anti- any company in particular, but I indeed had high expectations of Wii, and Nintendo made a good job of ruining it with: — horrendously poor game selection and release schedule; — not making the controller proper until after three years (and selling it separately as a special fuck-you to those who expected the functionality from the start); — not using the full potential of the control scheme aside from singular titles, as well as not being able to handle games that could do that (like Bionic Commando). That's not to say others did particularly better, but hey, at least X360 has a number of decent shmups, so if not for that I wouldn't even consider purchasing it, let alone importing it all the way from Japan. If we were to go by retail exclusives only, all three current-gen consoles even combined can barely compare with, say, PS2's game library. After all that I'm not holding any breath for the new controller's "potential"; potential is ephemeral while the controller's characteristics — like size and the fact that a six inch screen has to draw power from something — are already quite real. In short, I prefer controls that are simple, precise, and immediately responsive. I prefer not ever thinking about the controller — not feeling its weight, not feeling pain or fatigue from it, not having to change its batteries — let alone looking at it. All the three major console manufacturers, however, seem to be going the opposite direction these days, so there's little I can do.
Personally, I didn't think the Wii's game selection was that bad. I mean, it has a lot of good games. Except for Super Paper Mario! That's a bad, bad game! I mean, other than that, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2, Donkey Kong Country Returns, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Epic Mickey and Mario Kart Wii are all good games. Don't pan the console until you've given it a try. The controller has already gotten a ton of good feedback with very little negative. I'm going to remain optimistic.

They said at the convention after the Wii U was displayed, that what they showed graphically, is only a small part of what the Wii U is capable of. I think the console is at least as powerful as the PS3, if not more so. And as far as affordability, I know no price has been mentioned yet, but I don't think it'll be more than $500 at the most on launch, if even that. Nintendo likes to keep their consoles and games affordable. Unlike Sony and Microsoft who seem to think people will buy their consoles no matter what they charge for them. Mark my words, the 720 and PS4 are going to be far more expensive at launch.

Well, to be fair, Nintendo is my champion and always has been. I have faith the Wii U isn't gonna suck. xD

Wow, TASEditor is really biased against Nintendo, isn't he? He's going to pan the Wii U before it's even launched. Sure am glad Nintendo's future doesn't rest in his hands. The article itself has made me even more excited about getting the Wii U when it launches, and I'm not going to let someone or anything discourage me from doing so. Obviously, most people who tried the hands on display at E3 really like the system and the new controller. Nintendo finally struck gold here. And looking at the controller, the buttons aren't an unreasonable length away from each other. I think it's going to be a blast.

This looks way too big for its britches. Nintendo has went skydiving without a parachute here. :p What a stupid controller. I hope there is alternate one for people who don't care about playing on an oversized Classic Controller.
I didn't really care for the Classic Controller, myself. The one I have doesn't seem to work right, anyway. Can't let controller design cloud your judgement here. I think it's going to be a great console, and the controller itself has the potential to be a ground breaking gaming gimic. Just depends on if Nintendo markets it the right way.

Nintendo does things backwards compared to the other big console developers: they're far more conservative in software, and far less conservative in hardware. And usually this works out decently for them. I don't claim to understand how this new controller is going to work out, but I'm not going to say "it sucks" until I've seen some real-life reports. (Likewise I'm not going to say "OMG best idea ever Nintendo does it again")
I'm a little iffy on the new controller myself. But it'll either be able to play every game on the Wii/Wii U on it's own screen, or at least have a Menu for item selection for the big games like Zelda. I'm excited about the extra power, and I'm a little worried about the controller. Here's hoping Nintendo didn't screw up.

Nintendo has always been my champion, even when the Gamecube failed, it still had a lot of excellent games like Metroid Prime and Paper Mario: TTYD. And Nintendo is obviously doing something right, because the Wii beat both the PS3 and 360 in terms of sales. I'm optimistic that the price of the Wii U will be manageable. Maybe $250-$400. Whatever the price is, we still have a while to save up. Whatever the time it comes out, it'll still be cheaper than the 720 and PS4. I mean, when the 360 and PS4 first came out, they were both around $500-$600. I can imagine that 720 and PS4 on launch are likely to be somewhere around $600-$900.

I can look passed the controller design, personally. I'm more interested in the games and console itself. If the games are really good and control good, people aren't gonna give two shits about the controller design.

Nintendo's 2011 E3 strategy was targeted at selling 3DS, because, well, it's the only thing they can sell right now. The Wii U presentation was meant as an introduction, so they focused more on technical aspects. That being said, I liked what I saw, but I fear that third parties will again be conservative on gameplay functionality, akin to what happened on the Wii and happens on kinect. We see homebrews being way more experimental (fun) than retail games, which tend to have traditional gameplay, despite the wild possibilities offered by the hardware. I really hope developers feel more confident about what makes a game fun and less dependent on marketers opinions.
Well, they have Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood and Batman: Arkham City I'm assuming as Launch Titles for the Wii U. So I'm thinking there will be more Third Party games for this console.

Well, we won't really know that until it launches, right? I'm psyched, so I'm definitely going to get one when it launches. I'm the only gamer in my house, so...

I don't know about the rest of you guys, but I was blown away yesterday morning by the introduction of the Wii U. It is not an addon, it is a standalone console. The reason some people think it's an addon, is because the actual console is not shown in the E3 Trailer for more than a couple of seconds. What is known about the console itself, is that it is more powerful than The Wii, has 1080p High Definition, and is capable graphically of having games coming for it like Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood and Batman: Arkham City. They showed off what it could do, and it's at least a powerful as the Xbox 360, if not at least as powerful or more so than the PS3. I am excited about this Console's launch next March, so much so that I plan to start saving up now while saving up for a 3DS and it's games, like Ocarina of Time 3D, StarFox 64 3D, Super Mario 3D(TANOOKI SUIT!), Luigi's Mansion 2(Been wanting to see this game coming for a long time!), Mario Kart 3D and Kid Icarus. I have a lot of saving up to do! But I think the 3DS and Wii U will be worth it. :3

Depends on if you can manipulate the 100 health refills. If you can't then doing a run without extra E Tanks or the Varia Suit is impossible even by TAS Standards.

Did someone seriously vote no on this? Oh my god. People who vote no on games like this should just be outright IP Banned from the forums. I plan to watch some of this shortly.

I think one of the biggest problems with Nuclear Power here in the United States, would be the unpredictable weather conditions. They could build a Nuclear Plant in Oklahoma, Kansas or Arkansas, just to have a massive EF5 Tornado come along and destroy it. If we do build Nuclear Plants here, they need to be fortified to withstand massive Tornadoes and Hurricanes. Personally, I think Nuclear Power would solve the country's energy needs for quite some time until fusion is a bit more stable to use. What we need is for all of the politicians to stop being pansies and start using their heads. But, as we all know, all politicians are brainless.

Awesome, hehe. I'll have to try FF9 again, cause i know that one froze during one of the Black Waltz Cutscenes on ePSXe.

I've tried asking in the forum in it's spot what kind of game support the Emulator will eventually have, but apparently even the creators of it don't know since they never answered me after more than two months. Hopefully it'll support more games than ePSXe and PCSX.

Ohhh, okay. Personally, I enjoy 100% runs so much I don't mind if a game has to be reset a few times. They're my favorite kinds of Speed Runs and TASes. I never knew the Hearts were required when I played the game so many years ago.

I noticed that in the 105% TAS. Damn bananas!
