I wonder how long it'll be before James Rolfe does an AVGN video for this game? xD Could be interesting to see TASed. :3

Wait, there's a Ghost Trap weapon in this game?? O.o I always thought it was just the slime blaster.

I've always hoped this game would get TASed. And great job on the first level, there. I enjoyed it.

Do you need Tool Assistance to beat this hack, or is it possible to do it without? Cause it looks like fun.

Ooh, nice WIPs. :3 Sorry for my silence, I just haven't been paying much attention to topics on here lately until now. Just letting you know I haven't lost interest in this. :3

I really don't think much can make this game entertaining. Edit: However, this actually isn't boring. It's rather amusing to see you go through this taking no damage. If you can complete this TAS without taking ANY damage at all, it'll probably be one of the more entertaining TASes on the site.

You did this run because the Angry Video Game Nerd beat up Bugs Bunny, didn't you? :3 Admit it! xD

Skies of Arcadia: Legends. That way you'll have the longest TAS ever, just like the speedrun is the longest speedrun ever on SDA.
Ooh. I forgot about that one. :3

I'm glad to see that only 2-3 people have Super Paper Mario on their Wishlist. But honestly, all it's going to be is 3-5 hours of the same boring crap. Run, jump, avoid enemies, multi-bounce the boss. That pretty much sums up the SDA Speed Run. Now, my Wishlist. Super Mario Galaxy 100%, aka 242 Stars for Mario and Luigi. Super Mario Galaxy 2 120 Stars. Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door Any% and 100%. Epic Mickey. Donkey Kong Country Returns. Metroid Prime Trilogy 100%. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Any% and 100%. Mario Kart Wii. New Super Mario Bros. Wii. Death Jr.: Root of Evil 100%. Luigi's Mansion Any% and 100%. Super Mario Sunshine Any% and 100%. Metal Slug Anthology. Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem. Sonic Adventure DX. Sonic Adventure 2: Battle. The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker Any% and 100%. Megaman X: Command Mission. House of the Dead 2 and 3. House of the Dead: Overkill.

What better time to start, then?
Easy for you to say. I'm by no means a perfectionist. And I've seen how some people pick TASers apart when the run isn't up to their standards. So no thanks. [quote="According to Wikipedia: Jade Cocoon: - JP 1998-12-03 Jade Cocoon: - NA 1999-07-29 Pokémon Red and Green: - JP February 27, 1996 Pokémon Red and Blue: - NA September 28, 1998 So yes it did come out in Japan around the same time Pokemon hit the U.S., but it did not come out first in either country.[/quote] Oh, okay. I think I played Jade Cocoon first, though. Which is probably why my timeline is screwed up. I don't think there were any Pokémon Game commercials here when Red and Blue came out for a long time. Does this mean that the PSXjin is going to have almost as few games playable or TASable as PCSX-RR? Or will this eventually be remedied?

I'm not a runner, unfortunately. More than likely never will be. And TASing a game is just way out of my league.

I dunno. After watching the 100% Progress of the Paper Mario run on the SDA Forum, I think a 100% TAS would be more than entertaining enough to get published. Hell, the progress being made on the run on the SDA Forum is keeping me well entertained. The runner has some interesting strategies.

And...Shameless Bump! xD I've really given all the information I can about this game, I think. However, I think it would be a good TAS Choice not only because it's a decent game, but also because it's basically where Pokémon got it's start. You don't just face random monsters all of the time, either. You actually do face other Cocoon Masters from time to time as like Minibosses or Bosses. Not exactly sure on the Miniboss part, since I haven't played it in a couple years, now. However, from the lack of interest here on the forum, I take it not many people have played, or heard of this game. If you haven't played it, I urge you to do so. However, give the game a decent chance before you cast your judgement on it. I didn't like Paper Mario when I first played it brand new on N64, but it's one of my favorite games, now. xD

I'm not exactly sure. I just tried downloading something from Archive.org again, on the Long Plays site, and I'm STILL having trouble downloading anything. It's weird. It's like my connection isn't getting through. Edit: Weird. Now I can download this Run. Archive is acting goofy on me.

There's a problem with the Archive.org Publication file. It doesn't want to download.

It also looks like it's done by a bad player.
Was it really necessary to take a cheap shot at someone like that? Maybe you should think before you speak next time. Bad Game choice doesn't make the person a bad TAS Runner.

Some people may or may not have heard of this game, but it's a great game. Really don't know if it'll be good for a TAS or not, but I think it might.

Unfortunately it seems like Mupen has trouble running a lot of the good games, like Blast Corps for example. I'm thinking it may be time for a better N64 Emulator soon. Unless the creators of Mupen+ are planning on making a better version with better game support.

Shameless dead thread bump! xD Well, with the new PSXjin in development, perhaps this game could be given another look? :3 Now, for a more detailed description. You could call this game the Pokémon prototype, since I believe it came out before the Pokémon games. There are several types of creatures you can capture in Cocoons, and each has a different Element that is strong or weak against another Element. The controls aren't too horrible, at least, I never had trouble playing it. But I'm not exactly sure how long the game is, since I've never actually beaten it, myself. I'm sure Critical Hits would have to be manipulated to make the run as short as possible. One of the most unique features of the game, is that you can combine two creatures to make a stronger creature. I'm not sure if you can just use any combination, though. I could probably go on with this forever, so I'll just stop now. xD

Unfortunately, I have to vote no. I mean, only 636 Re-Records over a 20 minute movie? Not only that, but there are a lot of wasted shots.

I am voting yes, here. It's no often you see a Metal Slug run where all the characters are used. It's also not often where you see a TAS where Player 2 finishes with a higher score than Player 1. xD Overall, this TAS was highly entertaining.

Yes, if you wish, however I am still sceptical as to how entertaining this run will be. The bonus levels are rather long and dull, but I guess that that is the same in all Sonic games...
A lot of people didn't think Sonic 3 would be entertaining at 100%, but look at everyone now. They loved both 100% TASes. Just about any game can be made entertaining in a 100% run depending on how it's played.
