My reason for rejecting the video is based on the grounds that I didn't see it until it actually got in to gruefood and I'm a shameless trendwhore. :( No, seriously now. I watched this and while it seemed executed very well. While the level up grind was annoying, it's nothing a fast forward button or a jump ahead button in a movie can't fix. I highly disagree with adelikat's decision to reject this. It was mostly yes votes and his reasons were pretty bad. I'll be honest - half the movies on this site are pretty boring if you haven't played the games. I haven't played this and aside from the level up grind I found it rather interesting. A video on TASVideos shouldn't HAVE to appeal to everyone. I know about 85% of the videos on this site don't appeal to me much, and someone who wants a serious run of this game seems to have it here. If it's possible I'd reconsider your rejection of this. I think it's a fair publication. EDIT: And for the record, I found this much more interesting than the Legend of Zelda speedrun, which I use to help me assist for sleep when I am unable to attain it myself.

Aladdin was in fact my first SNES game, and also the only one for about a month or so, so I trekked it back and forth something like 50 times before I was able to play other SNES games. It's funny how I knew it like a back of my hand back then, and hardly remember today. Jeez, what a dumb game, anyway. :D Nevertheless, this is a very nice run, and a very nice improvement as well. Yes vote.
I had this for a week about seven years ago and I still remembered everything to this day!

Watching this I could tell that there was no optimisation. Some of the shit he did seemed to be a huge waste. Sheesh. Someone cut thirty seconds please.

I loved this game when I was a kid and this brought back a nostalgic feeling. Definite yes.

My only complaint is the usage of the U rom. I wish you had used the J. The enemy names are just so much more comical.

I think frame improvement such as 13 frames should only count in the case of a game where it is as close to perfect as we can get, such as in the case of Super Mario Bros. Super Mario 64 is not even remotely close to this level yet.

yeah spoilers abundant here I played this a lot as a child. That spark-wall boost on 6-5 was the coolest thing I've ever seen done in this game. Also notable: Using the black spiked ball to get the hole in one earlier in the game. I could never figure that hole out. Hole in one on 8-1. Jeez. Voting yes, despite not being done. The rest could be goatse and would still be worth publishing.

That is probably the biggest rerecord to total time ratio I have ever seen. 34567/106 = 326 rerecords per second played. You've got amazing patience. This run is also insane.

Yeah, reading subanark's post I can tell he wasn't saying TAS' are cheating. Come on. Don't jump on him like that.

The reason he took those risks is because he already had a sub 2:15 (which was his goal) completed. He felt like there wasn't as much pressure if he made a mistake, so he could go out and make all the risks he wanted. Regardless of this, he still has massive pills for doing that. Incredible.
