This post is almost a ten year bump, and it makes me feel old. But yeah, this seems like something a TASer could rip wide open with a memory viewer. Anyone willing to take it up?
This will be extremely difficult to TAS because the engine is extremely sensitive to any little disruption. Things as simple as framerate fluctuations can cause you to clip through things. This is something that could theoretically be abused for a TAS, but I can't help but feel like it'd be kind of lame.
I'm fine with multiple categories that have very different scope. I agree with DrJones in that in a competitive environment, having fewer categories is better, but I think that TAS is more about entertainment than speed. After all, on an individual video basis, "entertainment first, speed second" is the prevailing school of thought, and I don't see why the site on the whole would have a different stance. I don't see the harm in having "glitched", "any%", and "100%" categories, but I do think by obsoleting our current any% in favour of a video that slashes a significant amount of content is a mistake.
It was cool, but I have to say, I really hate how the sound channels kept getting messed up and only playing out of one ear. I find that sort of thing physically painful because I have a weird sensitivity to that sort of stuff. Is that a recording problem or does it actually happen in the emulator?
Sure, I'll edit it a little. Hope you don't mind nitpicking.
A bit awkward. Try, "How did you become a musician/composer? Was it what you wanted to do since you were a kid?"
Mostly fine, but the second last sentence should be with, "What were those games and on which platforms?".
Get rid of "up".
Mostly fine, but you should say, "hardware and software", instead of what you have here.
I'm not sure what you're trying to say with this. It sounds like you're telling the guy what he did, and then you're asking him if he studied music theory on his own. Why not cut the first stuff and ask that question?
"Juicy" is a very strange adjective for this. Try something like "interesting", "appealing", or "attractive".
When you use, "from the moment", you shouldn't just leave it hanging like that. Add something like "to the end of production" to the end of that sentence. Also, you're looking for the word "client" and not "customer" in the last sentence.
This is fine.
First sentence should read, "What influenced your music?". Last sentence should read, "Of the tunes you created, which is your favorite?"
This sentence is a bit awkward. Try, "What inspires you? Do you still write music?"
Replace the first "What" with "Which", and add "and" after the last comma (like most, and which did...).
Should say, "Tell us about", not, "Tell about".
About perma-banning users: If someone is such a dick as to get himself banned, but years later grows up a bit and becomes a much more civil and reasonable person (yes, that can really happen), isn't there any way that he can have his ban reversed? Or is it a life sentence?
Quick question: Have you ever known of this to happen on the internet?
It happens all the time, usually in the cases of youth posting and then simply growing up.
I didn't find the camera angles that bad, though the zooming in and out after beating Bowser was really irritating. Future advice for alternate camera angles (and I did like some of them):
- Always make it clear where Mario is headed
- Try to always have a considerable area visible (so don't zoom in so far)
- Try not to get the camera stuck staring at a platform, even if you're not going anywhere (such as when you BLJ)
Anyway, yes vote.
What I really want to see is the last boss of Mushihimesama Ultra beaten without a bomb. All of these Dodonpachi patterns are complex and ridiculous, but Mushihimesama Ultra's final is still, to me, the granddaddy of stupid bullet hell attacks.
Looks like another monthly TAS ranking is up. I'm not sure if it's by yukihis (it wasn't uploaded by him as far as I can tell), but if it's not, it imitates the style very well:
