Edit: This quiz sucks. Don't bother, most of the tracks are just random, clipping noise.

And yes they are noisy but that's the point. So it's not impossible. Listen closely and try to hear the melody.
The noise completely destroies the underlying song, so it might as well be white noise run though a few filters with "Guess the song" attached. Maybe mix in a few ms of actual songs too. :)
You must have a poorly trained ear if these are just "random, clipping noise" to you. I can easily identify the melody in almost all of these and even if I don't know the actual song, I'd imagine that I could identify it if you told me it.

Even though I love this game, I fear the TAS would be 8 hours at the very least. Are you sure you're willing to undertake that?

Why is Klmz listed in the post, but not in the poll?

Watched it, loved it, can't really add much more. If you get bored, it would be cool to see a "let's solve levels in ridiculous, obscure, and almost impossible ways" kind of demo, and not worry about time.
100% everything run? (Cascade is possible to 100%, which is amazing).

The second quest has 'invisible' doors. You just run into a wall sometimes where a door would be if there was a door, and eventually you can run through it :)
To think Nintendo would be guilty of one of the most outrageous level design offenses… :)
Oh, come on now. In February 1986, that was A-OK. ;)

Definitely better. I didn't mind that you dropped some enemies very quickly. Are you sure you couldn't do the target minigame any faster? Regardless, yes vote.

To clarify what I meant: It's more interesting just to get a quick glimpse of various aspects of the game; it's not the actual TAS that is the most interesting part. The interest comes in seeing the game, which I suppose a non-TAS speedrun could do just as well. Regardless, the question is, "Did you like watching this movie?" and the answer to that is "yes."

After watching this, I have to say yes. However, I almost get the impression that this run would be more entertaining to people who have never actually played the game.

I don't really think a 1P completion based purely on entertainment would be accepted so well here.
Have you ever seen the Killer Instinct/Mortal Kombat series TAS'? They're all based on doing wacky shit while still doing it quickly. The optimal TAS for a fighting game is doing as much wild and interesting stuff as you can and doing THAT as fast/precise as you can. Watch Mortal Kombat 2 or Killer Instinct to get an idea with what I mean.

Zeromus because he has more character development.
★OK★ Zeromus kind of was introduced too late for my tastes. It's still my favourite Final Fantasy though, for various reasons.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=o4UD8Om5ngk Someone managed a "zip" with a glitch in DKC2. Is there any place in the game that this might be a useful thing to do?

Just for your information, I believe it's in the rules that if you attempt a challenge that has the same goals as a unassisted run, if you do not beat the unassisted run, you are automatically rejected. Food for thought.

What in the hell does backwards jumping matter, Phil? Newcomers probably think it's cool looking.

The majority of the amusement of this hack comes from "dick moves" - invisible coin blocks and the like. A TAS would rather take away from it.

Definite yes vote. One thing I'd like to see you try, though, is an unassisted triple play. This recently happened in real life - runners on 1st and 2nd, the hit and run is on. The batter lines directly to the second baseman who catches it (to get out the batter), then touches the second base (to put out the runner from second, who ran to third) and then tags the runner from first, who was right next to him at the time. That would be awesome to see.

This is effectively a 100% run, so I don't see why we shouldn't have it. Most games are divided along any% and 100%. This game is no different. Good luck. :)

Improvable, but better than the current run. Talk to Huffers about a join v3; that would be amazing. Yes, in the mean time.
