Yes vote. It was kind of long, but it was a well done run.

Is it faster to take hits like that in the flying levels? I hate to say it but it makes it look really sloppy. Abstaining until further notice.
Yes, all damage taken in the flying levels was needed to keep moving, believe it or not. Getting hit doesn't waste time either.

"Note that this speedrun aims to be comparable to Richard Ureta's 30:39 run hosted on Speed Demos Archive." So no, they aren't.

A small, fast paced, glitchy run. This is my type. :P One question though, in the road runner stage, could you not glitch off the screen like you did with Daffy Duck? Or is that not how the glitch works? Anyways, yes vote. Great job from the two of you.

Sorry for double post, but I don't think it is such a crime here. Weatherton: What courses is there no solid route for? I know that Koopa Troopa Beach is one of them. What would happen with that course? Would you just do the normal strat? I tried a lot of different jumping ideas, and none of them seemed to work.

I'm going to be honest, I really haven't done anything. I got frustrated at a lag frame that I couldn't avoid, plus the fact that I have to make two movies. I guess I am kind of lazy...

DiamondPhoenix, I haven't watched this run, but congratulations on your first run.

A higher number of rerecords is important, because it basically means more OPTIMIZATION.
This isn't always true.

So this run is balls. It synced, but who gives a crap? It was boring as hell.
What the hell is wrong with you? This is his first submission, give him a break. There was no need to be so mean.

If you were to view that address in MHS, what type would it be? (unsigned short, long, float etc.)

Weatherton, does that thing only work with a red shell? Or do green work to? If so, get 3 green ones :P Anyways, I can't wait to see what you do with this course. @snorlax: I don't think weatherton wants a partner at the moment :P

Frames are always good :D I am very curious though, what is your plan regarding saving a lot of time over 29"47?

Good. Nice to see I contributed something. I don't remember why I let go, it wasn't for any reason. Yeah I notice the 2 item thing too, it probably wouldn't work if you did Mushroom to red shell, because you would have to use the mushroom right away, not really helping at the wall. I didn't think of using the C buttons :P

Here is what I was talking about: http://www.4shared.com/file/8y21un7q/NewideaLR.html I was completely wrong about the half a second thing, but maybe if this is optimized more, it'll save a bit. (In case you can't tell, it has to do with backing up quickly when I hit the ground)

Weatherton, this is probably a really stupid question, but how do you accelerate so quickly after turning around after the first jump? I have beat you to the item box by about 0.5 seconds, but I cannot figure out to accelerate as quickly as you do. EDIT: I'm not sure if it beats your new strat though.

Hm, you'd think that keeping momentum on the turn would be faster than going to a dead stop and doing a 180. I am very curious to see what this other strategy is. I also have another idea, which I will post later if I can get it to work.

Yeah, this is a really fun game, it would be cool if there was a talking feature of some sort though.

LR: 29"47: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oM80KFb1LHw I'm working on the start of a 150cc all cups run, this time beats Xenos' (29"71) but I currently have two other strategies that are faster after the first lap, so I'm still working on this. Those MyleStyle jumps are a BIG pain though....
Let me speak for all of TASvideos and say...YES, FINALLY! Seriously though, that was great, and I cannot wait to see more!

Trust me, do NOT start with SM64. I made that mistake, I can't even explain how hard it was and how many times I got frustrated. Also I think this should be in Newbie Corner.

All damage I take is necessary to keep moving. It may not seem like it but it is true. You are correct on the health thing though, I guess that wastes a few frames.

It wouldn't be worth it, you would have to get low enough of speed to land and stay on the platform, and then to successfully turn would be impossible unless you had really low speed.

Canceling because of huge improvements and me being stupid and not noticing that you can keep speed after running.
