Yes, it is 50. 15 for first, 50 for second. And now you know, and knowing is a certain fraction of the battle that I can't recall.

Where does MIPS 2 play into that? How exactly would you get from DDD room to LLL without opening the star door? Wouldn't it be less traveling if you went to SSL then LLL then HMC? Where would secret aquarium play into this? After JRB? EDIT for sonicpacker: You still need enough stars for MIPS #2!

You make a great point, I just noticed something wrong with what I wrote. Here's what route makes more sense: Enter the castle CCM/WF Either exit course or BLJ from room into PSS After PSS, BLJ into BitDW From BitDW, side blj into PSS Do ToTWC CCM/WF Either exit course or BLJ from room into BoB After BoB, do this After BBH is done, go to basement *needs more*

Alright, well we already know JRB isn't until after metal cap. So I say: Enter the castle Enter BITDW Get the star, and beat bowser Side BLJ into PSS Do PSS (either star) BLJ into WF After WF is done, exit course (test if bljing out of the room is faster) and enter PSS Get the other PSS star Do ToTWC BLJ into CCM After CCM is done, exit course (test if bljing out of the room is faster) and enter BoB After BoB is done, do this After BBH is done, go to basement (I will add more once I think of what would be the fastest route)

In case anyone is wondering why he canceled the run, I found a new zipping area that saves 286 frames. EDIT: Just in case it doesn't work for some reason, I used snes9x 1.43 v17.

Bob, are you trying to say this is new? Have you ever watched a 120 star WIP from Rob_Z?

This is a great game choice. Very entertaining (other than the car level). Also nice glitches! (especially the fall through floor one :P)

It takes a minute I think and it involves exiting and entering the water multiple times + you need to kill a goomba in the cave and activate a blue coin switch etc. so it might be useful, but it's unlikely.

Yes, so that TAS is useless, but very entertaining I might add.

Why I am voting yes: -it is extremely fast paced and entertaining -technically up to the level of the site -LOOK AT HOW FAST THE PEOPLE ARE SPINNING Good job!

Great run. At first I didn't know what to expect and then after the first zip the rest of the run was very zippy! Although it seems some small optimizations could be made, awesome TAS. Voting "Yes".

I liked it. The highlights of this for me were: -the fast pace -the optimization -the boss fight where the guy says hes going to beat you with his fist but before he can complete the word fist he's dead The meh things: -screaming HOO HAH HOO HAH HAH The :('s were: -the lack of variety in waiting sections (partly not your fault due to what you said above) -the autoscrollers (not your fault) Voting "yes".

Sorry for late reply but here's my method. When ending recording, instead of hitting Stop Movie Recording, simply just go to Start Movie Playback and replay the movie. I have never experienced the cutoff bug with this method.

I tried to run his run on VBA, but it was the same as mine.
What do you mean it "wasn't the same"?

I also asked Kyman about that lag RAM address but he hasn't replied. : /
You never directly asked me for the address. Anyways I misplaced it, i'll find it later.

5+ seconds doesn't seem like frame wars to me.

"a lot" is two words. Also no problem for showing you an improvement to your run.

He isn't encoding this for the publication of the movie, so it doesn't have to agree with the encoder guidelines.

Now let's hold up here for just a minute. There is a memory adress that you need to monitor while TASing this game. It will show you if you had a lag frame when landing. If the value=0 then there is a lag frame. If it is 1 then you're good. Also there was improvement at the start of 1-2. All frames saved before that are from saving lag frames.

Demonstrate: That isn't a glitch, he hit the bully off so far it landed on snow and then it walked into the ice water a few seconds later.

I was playing The Simpsons Game for X360, and in a store in Springfield I managed to jump through the roof into some sort of endless abyss. I know exactly how to do it now; I can do it 9 times out of 10.

If you mean, go back in BoB and exit the course, then absolutely not.

It would probably be faster to just go out the door, and side blj on the stairs outside.
