Here is the world 5 early video: Link to video This clip works by getting enough speed with the L button trick, and then hitting L on the right frame to clip through. This makes the ball go underground but not Glover, so this allows you to walk around a few seconds in the animation where you stand on the ball, and you it seems like you can go through any walls in this state.

I found a way to clip into the 2nd last world from the very start of the game. Unfortunately, once you beat the boss, it goes back to the opening scene at the start. If you try to unlock a world, it unlocks the first one (although the save menu says 3% completion, and if you clip back into the world the boss door is unlocked). If you try to do the clip after beating either the first boss or the tutorial level (so you have the ball again), the loading zone isn't there to warp into the 5th world. You can stand inside the area but you don't get teleported. So, this seems to be useless unless someone can prove me otherwise, which I would love! This would save almost 10 minutes.

Oh no, a new idea was implemented! What a disgrace! But not just that, you guys even had the nerve to change it back after it didn't work out! What the hell, this affects me so much!

"Super Mario 64 (NTSC) [Japanese-Shindou Edition (Rumble Pak)] 30 frames per second. This is special version, where the BLJ trick is fixed" I feel like the next 70 star BLJless TAS that is made should be done on this version. It just seems better than using other versions and pretending the glitch doesn't exist.

I figured out what the random door was in wireframe mode. It's the door that blocks the entrance when this minigame comes up in Grunty's Furnace Fun. Makes me wonder what happens if you escape a minigame =o
Isn't there a bumble bee mini game? Could you clip out of it with the clip you posted before? EDIT: I recall hacking going OOB in a minigame before, I'm pretty sure you get loaded in the level it's in.

I can confirm that the glitch I found can be done in other places: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eT2hr3Ry9RY I'm currently looking for more :) We might have a note door skip soon!
I'm assuming these clips only work with the beak bomb or whatever it is called?

Very interesting approach. Wouldn't landing in the water like that mean that you can't trigger the shortcut on laps 2 and 3? Or, did you still manage to get it working? Normally, if you cut over the water or land in the water, Lakitu will not place you down below on the following laps (so, even if you had landed on the road, you would be much slower on the next two laps due to this).
I wasn't aware of that, so much work for nothing. :(

Kyman, I had planned to jump off a cpu for the final version, but good idea with super shroom. Did you try comparing this to getting a star and spinning out to jump down? At the very end, it seemed to be a large delay for Lakitu to pick you up... did he ever end up coming? P.S. Other than being incredibly busy (I just finished an engineering Master's degree program while working fulltime and becoming a father), I am still working on Mushroom cup...
I did not compare those routes, but I have another one that's very close to working that will save a lot of time. (Will post later) For the Lakitu, I found that since I triggered the lap animation at the same time I was supposed to get picked up, he would never come. And I would be willing to help you with whatever you need for that.

Kyman, when you had the Super Mushroom, you could have gotten more mileage out of it by skidding and using the left/right trick. It's possible to skid for very long amounts of time (you can control how fast you shift from yellow to orange to orange-red) and then before you skid out of control you can do a short hop and start from the beginning. I know it was on a mostly straightaway (you can get around this by snaking) but that section you could have made a bit faster.
Yeah, I wasn't going for too much optimization, I was reading a lot about optimization in this game last night so I feel like I know a lot more now.

If I'm correct, this is about an 8 second improvement in reaching the final level. This also improves by 6 lag frames to the point where I use a different route. I tried to hex the rest of nitrogenesis' movie to this but it didn't work. If anyone finishes this up and at least ties the current movie in all parts, I would want to co-author with them.

Here it is: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1822003124/Addams%20Family%2C%20The%20%28USA%29.vbm The time lost is due to timing differences and different lag throughout the movie. I did save frames in one part though, at the end of the level I managed to get in the door without being hit by using a ducking trick.
