Through where? Run left to where? Do you mean running when you are inside the wall? If so, that's impossible. EDIT: And karter, that's simply awesome. I'm very glad you're working on this, the finished product will be great.

Looks awesome. The castle is really great. Did you test other routes through W7 or did you just decide to go with mine? I'm pretty sure the route we used is the fastest one though.

I don't specifically know about bears, but there was a news story a while ago that said that homosexuality had been found among almost all animals, even the worms that live in human intestines. I find that pretty interesting.

Wow, I can't remember ever seeing a movie that was so action-packed. This is definitely going to become one of my favorite runs.

I thought about not descending to your level but then decided that YOUR NEW NICKNAME SHALL BE POOPRECO! I guess we should stop derailing this thread..

No, no they couldn't. If someone wanted to obsolete this and used a Yoshi, the movie wouldn't be obsoleted. So it's in the rules, it's not just their call. HAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

IMO the run should be considered as "small only", not "no powerups". IIRC the same amount of exits is possible without stars or balloons (or can the second special stage be completed without the balloon?), so it doesn't really matter anyway, it's just quicker and cooler this way.

Why would you want to remove the article from The Legend of Zelda? It's ungrammatical to remove it and it belongs in the name. Same goes for SMB2. Just check the cartridge, the full stop is there (and for a reason). The last one looks horrible. "The Legend of" is a part of the name and needs to be there. Maybe the article should be moved, though, like with the first one. Legend of Zelda, The - A Link to the Past or Legend of Zelda - A Link to the Past, The. I'm not sure which one is correct, but IMO either is better than the one you suggest.

I don't understand this fixation with a swordless run. You hardly ever use the sword in this run! I can't see why it would be accepted.

Which doesn't answer the question, there will be many people who never got a chance to watch the run before it was accepted, and the input will be limited to the SMW fanatics since there the people desperately wanted to see the run in the first place.
I'm not sure I fully understand this. Why would people care whether the submission was accepted or not when they watch the movie?

Plus there does seem a bit of negative feedback about the run as well, enough not to class it as an instant acception. If the run was an improvement to the current 11 or 96-exit then it wouldn't bother me too much, but this is a run in an entirley new catagory which has arbitary goals.
This is what I was mostly replying to. If Bisqwit sees the run as good enough for publication, he doesn't have to care about the votes, even if ALL of them were negative or even if NO ONE thought that the new category is a good idea. The votes were originally just intended to be used as reference so that if no judge is familiar with the game, there are at least some people who can tell whether the movie is good or not (much like SDA verifiers). The votes do not affect the decisions of the judges, they just help them get a general idea of the submission before watching it.

That's exactly the issue you brought up. If Bisqwit watched it and deemed it suitable for publication, why should he have to wait? He has no obligation to any of us.

So you think Bisqwit should have to ask our permission to publish something on his own site?

Discussion of published movies is not considered to be "thread necromancy". There are "Discuss this movie" links in the movie descriptions, so it would be quite unfair to punish people for using them.

Yes, I'm sure. Even if you could somehow gain more height (which you can't, I've tried damage boosting and walljumping but they simply don't exist in this game) the size of Pit's sprite doesn't really change when duckjumping, he is still the same height as when he is standing.

Sigh. Did you even check the movie description on the site? This is NOT a 100% run. Please PLEASE PLEASE stop asking/complaining about things that you can VERY EASILY CHECK yourself by just reading the damn submission/movie description. Many of the site's regulars are growing tired of your irrelevant/ignorant/annoying posts.

That doesn't make sense at all, Comicalflop was in favor of the version change, not against.

As far as I know, TASing isn't about how long it takes to get a finished product, but the quality of that product.
How does using the (J) version make the run of better quality? It would be the same run with just slightly shorter texts.

In both games, you travel through time and stop Lavos, doing whatever tasks along the way. Both have the same characters, same story (barring version changes), same attacks, same enemies, same music, etc. So, how exactly are they "completely different?"
Timewise. If you thought that anyone here meant anything else, there is something wrong with your understanding. No one has said that there is anything else different about the versions. The point is that the versions simply cannot be compared in terms of completion time. Since using the (J) version changes nothing in the game except for the completion time, there is no point in making things difficult. The goal of these movies is to be entertaining, not to make some arbitrary number as low as possible.

(M) means multilanguage, and the number is the number of languages. [S] I think stands for Super GameBoy or something and [o] means overdump (a ROM you shouldn't use, at least for TASing).
