Hmm, I see what you're saying but i've played real guitar for 14 years and still find guitar hero absolutely fantastic. When it comes to party play and basic bragging rights, i've not come across many better games for a total ego junky. For example having a large group of friends who all own the game and are complaining about how hard slayer is or something, then you nail Dragonforce infront of them all. It's just plain fun!

Something else that struck me however, even the downloadable content costs more for us in comparisson with the American dollar. That can't be put down to shipping fee's or ad campaigns or whatever reason they could have for charging us 100% more. It's blatantly just milking the Europeans for more. Maybe the huge success of the previous guitar hero games gave them the idea we'd pay whatever they asked for, although i'm pretty sure GH was also a phenomenal success in the USA. I'm also interested at what they think their target audience is? I would have expected their main target to probably be teenage boys? Girls and older/younger people definatly play, but I would think that 13-19 year old guys would be the main bulk of sales. I dunno why they think it's a good idea to charge such a rediculous amount for a game when most people around my age, (19) just don't have hundreds of pounds kicking around to throw about at whatever they want. If the game was called fucking I dunno "Middle aged lawyer virtual reality ball" or something they can go, oh right they'll have cash. Lets milk it. I can't get my head around this one.

I think it's more than fair to be annoyed when a game you've looked forward to for a long time is announced to be more than twice as expensive than you were expecting, ESPECIALLY when it wasn't exactly cheap in the first place. Meh, maybe it is whining or getting too worked up, but why not vent in the post created for the purpose of discussing the issue?

That would actually make sense, but if this is the case it's disgraceful they feel that us Europeans are the one that should take care of the bill for them. I still can't fully get my head around it because it's not even a tad more expensive to cover shipping or anything, its more than twice the fooking price from what i've gathered. And the thing that pisses me off most, it looks shit hot and I really wanna play it! Absolute worst case scenario is im gonna be skint for a month come payday I suppose!

I've been looking forward to this arriving for a LONG time and i'm simply disgusted at the price. And to top it all off, there's apparently lots of hardware problems with the drumkit in particular (Weak peddles snapping off, over/under sensitive drum pads etc) and for a price tag like that, it all sounds like more bloody trouble than it's worth. Me and a few mates were planning on chipping in for it, grabbing a peripheral and game each then bringing it all together on any nights we had free, but if they wanna just ass ram us with a price tag over twice that others would pay, i'm turned off just on principal. I'm gonna have to sit and watch how this one develops, as a 360 owner it isnt as bad as it could be, but i'm still not happy.

My knowledge on the subject is pretty small, but sometimes if using The Lunar Ips patcher you need to expand the Rom to a suitable size otherwise it doesn't work. The readme files should contain any information about that should it be required. There are way more talented people here can explain it far better than I can, sorry.

Jaysmad fits into that cadaver scene far too well. *Points* "I MADE HIM LIKE THAT!"

Although thanks for the explanation anyway. I was really surprised to hear the LEDs were in the sensor bar and the receivers in the wiimote. For some reason i'd have expected it to be the opposite.

Don't get me wrong, I understood how it worked. I just didnt think LED clecks were any less a fashion faux pas than the cap with a bar on it.

Sorry to go slightly off topic, but after watching that video about the wiimote and sensor bar... "A cap and sensor bar looks kinda goofy, i'll wear these massive red glasses with mounted LED's attached." ?

Is it possibly "A fistful of bucks"? That involved a little white cowboy with a Wild West overworld, I dont recall the falling obstacle parts, but saying that I can hardly remember the game at all! I'll see if I can find any screenshots online. Found one http://www.c64gg.com/Images/F/Fistful_Of_Bucks.ss.gif Hope it helps!

An extremely underrated game. I had considered this game totally un-TASable due to being rather slow-paced and linear. However (And major props to Aqfaq for suggesting, otherwise I wouldn't have bothered to look) it is extremely manipulatible. Enemies can be manipulated into not showing, and if you choose to let them, can be manipulated to drop pretty much whatever you want. With items in the game such as the Jade Skull which obliterates all on screen, (Except possibly Wraiths if I remember correctly) and better equipment, you could be basically untouchable from the start. The story involves getting 5 gold statues to make an invisible town appear, which allows access to a golden swan to fly over Lava into the final castle. But according to Aqfaq (I'll do my best to test it out soon as I can) upon death, your character shifts a little. Abusing death would allow you access to the final area from near enough the beginning cutting off hours of trekking and essentially breaking the game to the max. I'm strongly considering taken this one up as there's been little interest in it so far (according to the search feature anyway.) But have absolutely no prior experience in making a TAS. Hopefully anything I find out could be usefull to others should they take an interest.

My memories still very hazy on the game. But manipulating items would be very handy for, I think they were called Jade Skulls? And the Gold rings too? Being able to gain entrance to the final castle by death abuse would speed things up greatly bypassing the gold statuettes. Hmm, maybe I was hasty to judge. I'd love at attempt this game =] Thanks!

AHHH! That's the one I was looking for mate! Thankyou! I've not played it in years, time to go acquire a copy in one way or another! Thanks again dude :) Edit: After having a wee look over the screenshots i've just remembered how slow the game goes. Probably zero TAS potential. But still a fantastic old game!

Civil servant working for the HMRC :( As mind numbing as it comes, but mainly a stopgap until I get my act together and apply to the Fire Brigade, something i've itched to do all my life.

This was one of my favourite games as a child and have pretty intimate knowledge of the game. Thinking about it, I don't think a non pacifist run would actually be too much longer than the no exp run. Random ramblings to come off the top of my head, apologies in advance; Storm gear could be abused heavily for set damage regardless of current level and slugmess/blastoid fights can be used for extremely quick levelling up. When a blastoid duplicates itself, the copy has the exact same hitpoints remaining as the one it came from. If you can take it down to one hit away from death, then let it replicate, either one will only take 1 hit to kill but still give full experience. I used this heavily in a solo Rolf run to overlevel him to the max for NeiFirst. Another thing to consider in these encounters, is battle formations play a role too. You can encounter upto 5 enemies at any time. When enemies duplicate, they wont multiply to numbers above what occupied the start of the fight. Simply, _ = Empty spot. B = Blastoid. Encounter one: _ B _ B _ You can only kill one, wait on it to replicate then kill one again. They will never replicate into one of those empty spots. Encounter two: _ B B B _ Here they will freely replicate into any of those three spaces. Having never TAS'd this game, im not sure how easily you can just manipulate them into a favourable position, but thought this was worth pointing out anyway. Something else to think about would be if Slug mess could possibly be more advantageous to battle, as they appear in groups of 5 and as long as you have 4 within 1 hit of death at the start of the turn, you can kill 2 each turn without taking a hit. _ S1 S2 S3 S4 Rolf knifes S1, it dies. Rolf Knifes S2, also humped. S3 duplicates into S2 spot. S4 duplicates into S1 spot. No damage taken, very quick exp. Sorry for the random possibly useless junk mentioned! Just things that come to mind straight away incase there's any use for them.

I've a request if anybody can help. It was an old role playing game on the genesis. You started off as a little red guy called Julian, and upon dying too many times, would then revert to his younger brother who was dressed in blue. Once again, too many deaths would result in you taking over as the youngest brother dressed in yellow. I found the game massively enjoyable when I was younger, always trying to complete it as Julian but can't remember its name for the life of me! I cant remember many details about it, just random points. You could teleport to other areas using stone rings. Fought a dragon to get a magic wand. Umm the very end of the game took place in space against a replica of yourself who mirrored all your moves and stuff. Its an absolutely fantastic game and worth having a go off if you're into your retro RPG's. I can't really vouch for its TASibilty though. Any help appreciated!
