Ridley was actually pretty good. Yes it took longer than normal due to lack of beams, but I still found it interesting. Mother Brain was a bit of a drag, but I got to see her attack patterns over the whole range of health. Not to mention the zebetite bypass method, which I'd never seen before. And the ammunition management was entertaining to me, since he only had to stop twice (thrice?) to collect ammo. Voting yes, and suggesting publication in the demo section. Why not? There are two movies of racing games that only complete one track. Slap Saturn's Ice run up there while you're at it.

Voting yes, but I'm somehwat disappointed that the suitless sequence didn't have perfect stealth. I would consider that a speed/entertainment tradeoff.

The Stardust is needed for a sidequest in the Tower of Flanvel. If you get all fifty of them and give them to some NPC it allows you to access a very strong optional boss.

Forgive the ultrabump. I lost all my Genesis-related stuff in a rootkit-related format, so I wanted to get the encode of this run, but the page says the AVI is unavailable via bittorrent, as does the 45:55.82 version that obsoleted this one. Is there any way to get a hold of this or that movie? I wanted to watch a glitchless/less glitchy version.

For basically running a ROM through an emulator, the load times for the PSX version of CT were absurd. It took a good three seconds to load a battle, and hopefully I'm being optimistic. I haven't played it in some time, mainly because I can't find the disc, so I don't know the actual time offhand. When you compare it to FF4, which was packaged with CT and presumably uses the same ROM/emu method, FF4's load times were very close to the original SNES console. The only difference I saw was that if you left the game running for a while, at least in battle, the music would eventually fade out and restart from the beginning. Anyway, I'm voting yes for publication, but I'm torn as to whether it should obsolete the current run. Mario 64 has a 100% run so people can see the whole game done, but AFAIK this one doesn't. Seeing this game broken completely, then having the pieces pulverized is an awesome sight, but for the few out there who aren't familiar with it, they won't have a clue what the game is actually about.

As good as that run is, there seems to still be room for improvement. I was only able to watch up to Varia but he missed a couple of damage boosts, which is good for a couple of seconds, I'd wager.

inichi, I'm watching your setup movie and I'm having a hard time following how you're able to skip bosses. A couple of them, like the Guardian and Nizbel 2, are skipped through what looks like multiple trips into the menu to avoid triggering them. Others, like the Mud Imp, seem to be using a bug I missed you setting up that lets you save anywhere. Can we get a little bit of clarification, please?

Apologies, I've lost interest in following the Super Metroid proper thread since Saturn started doing his thing and everyone jumped him. Not exactly fun wading through the bullshit to find the gold. Thank you though.

A gentle nudge to bring this thread back from page two. Are things progressing at all since April?

Pretty sure the game calls the same formations and monsters that it uses everywhere else, just without awarding experience.

It's not that any video game movie is particularly good... but Uwe Boll's are just especially bad... Not without good reason. Essentially, it's a real-life representation of the Producers. German financiers get to write-off 100% of movie-backing on their taxes. Then, when a movie tanks, they also get to write off the losses. Therefore, they actually stand to gain more by his movies flopping, then they do by them being a success. (They'd have to pay taxes on the income earned, as oppose to 100% return on their taxes.
So he's being subsidized by German taxpayers? Lovely. I think the question lies in what age Link will be if a movie is made. I don't really see it doing well if he's a kid, since a lot of kids these days don't really know much about the Zelda series. That and I can't think of any actors that could adequately fulfill the role if there are spoken lines.

was0x, why do you allow the characters to take damage in battles when it is quite easy to avoid it? Does it affect the enemies' actions? Some other luck manipulation?

Nah, they don't hate this place, they hate it when people try and compare a TAS run to a console run, and the TAS wins because it's faster.

I did finish my second RBO and posted it at M2K2, any feedback appreciated... It uses a whole new route (mostly stuff suggested by hero and saturn) and also exploits the pause trick (only for a little while, don't worry) to grab the speed booster and wave beam with 2 tanks.
That's a hell of an exploit. I was wondering why you wouldn't die. Does it only work at 0 health, or any time?

I knew this would get my yes as soon as Charge Beamst didn't even get the chance to have a chance at continuing to exist. Also liked how you collected the last energy tank.

One thing I've noticed while fighting Rubicante is when Rydia casts Shiva on him, he counters by casting Blizzara on himself, potentially for more damage. This could be manipulated to save some time and make the battle faster, unless there's another viable alternative you can think of. Rydia is pretty slow, so there's no guarentee.
Thinking that's because, when his cloak is closed, he absorbs water and ice. Why he would do it when his cloak is open though... Unless you're talking about the four elements fight later on.

Cerulean Gym (Misty) lets you use cut. Experience underflow isn't possible on GBA, to my knowledge, since it's able to handle larger numbers than Game Boy was.

I'm watching that BOF2 run and the player pauses while moving a lot. Is this to manipulate encounters away?

I think the most interesting aspect of the avi is that the credits are far longer than the gameplay portion.

If you watch it on frame advance you can see that the eggs spin in a "third dimension" of sorts, rotating behind each other. I was confused by that as well.

Aww... I was hoping you'd do perfect stealth. It's a speed/entertainment trade-off, of course, but I would've liked to have seen it. It's doable on console, though a bit difficult. Ah well. You get my yes for Ridley taking it up the ass and Mother Brain not knowing what the fuck.
