Voted yes for the input display during Manbo's Mambo. Why didn't you do that for the other Ocarina songs?

Not asking for roms, but I'm curious if anyone's picked this one up yet. It screams to have a run of it done. And of course, godspeed to the brave soul that tries it.

Perhaps it should've been (labeled) "#1502: skamastaG & thegreginator's SNES Super Mario World "jumpathon" in 14:03.7" since the amount of time spent walking was pretty damn minimal.
I will vote yes since it was entertaining for what it was, but I agree with this. Calling it a jumpathon or a "no-run run" would be more accurate.

Is anyone else getting an early desynch? After the player leaves Birch's lab to go find May, he gets into a random encounter in the grass. Looking at the input, that's probably not supposed to happen. It's happened twice consecutively. I'll try again, but I don't have high hopes. EDIT: Never mind. It would help if I were using the current version of VBA. Looks like I still had v17. Will watch and vote later.

Voting yes, but with a nitpick. I'm pretty sure if you hold down while on Cycling Road you go faster... Oh, I guess not. I just checked it. Must have it confused with FRLG.

Melchior, guru of life, sells weapons, which are used to end life. Gaspar, guru of time, ends up where there is no time. Balthasar, guru of reason, goes insane completing his final project. It's not something that you'd pick up on the first time around, since we were probably all kids when this game came out. It's interesting to say the least.

Bumping to ask about timing for the Super Jump. The currently published run gets the Attack Scarf and Super Suit, which requires performance of one hundred Super Jumps. I know there is a timing change at around fifteen jumps, but isn't there another change later on, in the forties or fifties?

Yes vote from me. A masterful execution of this game. I'm gonna echo the praise for the storytelling of this game. The translation may be a little iffy, but the overall narrative is classic fantasy done well. Especially the ending, it's my favorite type of ending. SPOILER The world is saved, but the heroes die in the process. The shot of their son calling out to his mom with the nanny telling him his parents saved the world and they'll be home soon... END SPOILER. Gets me every time.

Month later bump. Anything new? EDIT: Oh yeah, couple things I've been meaning to ask about. First, is the crouch jump thing I keep seeing. Is it a feature of the game engine, or was it added into this hack? Second, what, if anything, is on the right side of Crocomire's room?

Flyers are weak to electric. Do you have an electric type that can take the gym?

What, the jumps at the beginning with the podoboos? Yeah, those are kinda random, from what I've experienced...sometimes they jump low enough for you to jump over them, sometimes they jump high enough for you to jump under them, and of course sometimes they jump at just the right height to mess you up no matter what if you don't slow down. XD I don't think there's much you can do about it, really. :/ Might be best to slow down a bit and let them come down a bit if you see that they might be in your way when you get to the edge...getting hit would slow you down more (and, if you had fire, would hurt your chances of finishing the rest of the level in one piece).
That part gave me some troubles at first, but it's the firebars later on. Like I said, as a kid I played SMB enough that I had the timing of 1-4 (2-4 in this version) down to a science. I could blaze through without slowing down no problem. It might be because I'm playing on a keyboard. I'll try my gamepad and see how that goes.

I still don't like Christina Aguilera. And Dick Clark was pretty mush mouthed. Is it because he's ten thousand years older than sand, or was he drunk?

Btw, I am wondering, if the minus world is different in SMB/Duck Hunt ROM and The world championship(I don't rememeber its real name) ROM
Shouldn't be. Also the third one is called World Class Track Meet. 2-4 is still killing me, and I don't know why. I'm just not getting the timing for the jumps full speed, and I don't wanna try any slowdown yet. Anybody else give this a shot yet?

Something strange I noticed. The entrance puddle to Hazy Cave Maze was all black instead of it's usual metallic silver. Whats the deal with that? Some kind of rom difference?
Referring to the AVI, I'm sure... Maybe a different video plugin was used this time, and it rendered it differently?

I'm playing through right now cold and full speed, only saving at the start of every level. Right now 2-4 is killing me, and it really shouldn't be. It's 1-4 from the original, and in my heyday I could've done it blindfolded. Once I finish it I'll record a dirty movie and post it. Hopefullt that'll get the ball rolling and someone with actual skill can do it.

I remember playing this arcade version of SMB at a Pizza Hut as a kid, and it was, at the time, a lot more difficult than the NES version. I loaded it up in FCEU, but I can't get past the title screen. I bound C to Insert Coin, but then it shows a screen where you push the blue button for one player or the green for two players. Where is the option for that? I'd like to give this game a try again. Also, if this should be in the emulator forum, let me know. Screenshot for reference:

Gettin' a 404 on your wip Crimson. There's a period at the end that shouldn't be there. Here's the corrected one: http://fast.filespace.org/CrimsonPride/FF1DOS2.vbm EDIT: Any chance of taking on the optional dungeon?

The two things that get me are: 1) As Bisqwit said, you totally smash the windows of every non-subscriber, but one of them buys a subscription every day, and 2) the fact that, in order to show you they're a subscriber, they've repainted their house. I never completed this game as a kid. Glad to see it's got the trademark nonexistant NES game ending. Voting yes.
